What the leasers didn't know was that the taskers got into realms and helped them so they( taskers) could focus on their own main tasks which was world/realm balance. These realms had 'special ones' who siphoned the luck out of it. Luck was the binding force of these realms so without it, the realms would begin to break apart and deteriorate into unlivable hells. So in essence, leasers gave put their bodies and 'payment' in the form of soul energy, taskers helped out the leasers while balancing the realms and the realms become stable once more. Pretty straightforward right? Yes. But can someone tell He Yuan why these world was so full of hypocrites, Mary sue and Gary stu characters who thought it was excusable to do horrible things just because they were in love? After a bout of dizziness He Yuan was transferred to the realm of his test task. Without getting his bearings right, he turned to the side and threw up his guts in the clay pot by the side of the tiny straw bed.
That damned system must have done it on purpose! How could he not inform him of the repercussions of soul travel? He Yuan massaged his head gently as he thought about his situation.

Apparently the name of the leaser was Wei Luo. He was born to a concubine and the only son and youngest child of the Wei family. He had two elder sisters, with an age gap of two years, from the same mother, twins called Wei Hua Yi and Wei Hua Yu.
There were two 'special ones' in this world and one of them happened to be the legitimate daughter of the Wei family. She was called Wei Yun'er and was a year older than the twins. Everyone lived in harmony, whether sincere or not, at least the inner courtyard was quite peaceful.
Wei Luo had been glued to the intricacies of medicine right from when he was a child and showed no interest whatsoever in becoming a general like his father so at age four, he was taken away by a master to train in the mountains.

The entire drama started in Wei Luo's absence when the legitimate wife of the Wei family, Wei Yun'er's mother, died due to sickness. The Wei family grieved at the loss and even the general came back from guarding the borders to bury his main wife.
Whether he truly loved her or not, no one knew but at least he afforded her with utmost respect. One year after the main wife's death, Wei Luo's mother, Xu-shi, was promoted to main wife and her children became legitimate children of the Wei family too.
Even after Xu-shi was promoted to main wife, she did not treat Wei Yun'er badly but she also did not treat her as well as her own daughters. She treated Wen Yun'er just the way as she always did, albeit with a little more attention now she was the di wife.
Wei Yun'er was betrothed to the second prince but because of the rumours going around about how much general Wei loved Xu-di, even to the extent that he promoted her to main wife merely one year after his legitimate wife's death, the second prince decided to try to call off his marriage with Wei Yun'er in order to marry one of Xu-di's twin daughters.
The power struggle for the throne was ongoing in hidden corners and the second prince had single handedly cooked up the notion that if he married one of Xu-di's daughters and made her happy, she would in turn whisper coaxing words to the general and have him support him in the fight for the throne.
Wei Yun'er, of course, refused. She'd been betrothed to the second prince right from when she was a baby and grew up to deeply love him so how could she let him go?
The second prince was dissatisfied with her stubborn behaviour and decided to deal with her. On the day of Wei Yun'er's regular visit to the temple to lit incense, she was attacked by assassins. Her face was slashed with a knife and her two legs broken.
In the end, she bled out and a different soul occupied Wei Yun'er's body. This soul was also called Wei Yun'er but she was a deadly assassin and genius doctor from the 24th century.
The master assassin went through Wei Yun'er's memories and singlehandedly decided that the entire Wei family were a bunch of deeply hidden Oscar winning actors. Even Wei Luo, who had been outside all his life was roped in with the rest of them. She didn't try to look at the whole picture, just viewing things from the former Wen Yun'er's narrow point of view.
The second prince on the other hand, rushed over to propose marriage to Wei Hua Yi after he got the confirmation from the assassins but was firmly rejected by the disgusted Wei Hua Yi. How could she, in her clear mind, get married to someone who was meant to be married to her half sister?
The entire Wei family turned off the second prince and politely sent him away. Not long after the second prince left, Wei Yun'er appeared on a stretcher, carried by a bunch of good Samaritans. Everyone was distressed about her state and when she saw Wei Yun'er's face and legs, Xu-di was even more alarmed.
How was she going to explain this to the general? The daughter of the first wife, harmed under her care. People would surely blame her for being neglectful but she really had no idea. Wei Yun'er had an ample amount of guards accompanying her so how could this happen?
After the physicians examined her condition and doomed her to be crippled for life, 'Wei Yun'er' requested to be moved to a different, more hidden courtyard. Xu-di of course refused. How could they properly care for her if she was in isolation?
Wei Yun'er insisted and even when the despairing general returned and tried to get her to change her mind, she still refused. What else could they do? They let her get what she wanted.
As 'Wei Yun'er' moved to the isolated courtyard with just a maid, she scoffed and called them vicious wolves in her mind. Letting an injured girl live all alone in a lonely courtyard. She would soon tear down their masks and get revenge on them for all they had done to the previous Wei Yun'er!
Wei Yun'er quickly won the loyalty of that one maid with a promise of strength and greatness. Then she went ahead to cultivate her martial arts and heal herself with her extensive knowledge of medicine.
