We were quickly ushered into the facility, the large metal doors left open. I assumed the one to have opened up the place would have been Alex.
He was the only immortal on this side of the war to my knowledge. Though, no doubt, there were many more I simply wasn't aware of yet.
My stomach filled with more butterflies with each step I took. I was directly taken into a room a floor up. Theo tried to follow in; however, the guards stopped him.
"I'll be okay," I smiled faintly, "treat him well," my smile turned stern, eyes glowering with a warning. If anything were to happen to him, I'd have no trouble spilling their blood.
Theo bit his lip and nodded dejectedly, allowing them to take him to another room.
The door behind me closed with a heavy thud, the dim green light showing a large sterile studio apartment-like room.
