Dead, Laugh, Hate

I fell to my knees as the officer delivered the news. There was a loud beeping noise in my ears as the world around me faded away.

The only thing I could focus on was my best friend. Her laughs, the memories we had, our shared hugs. I couldn't believe it was all gone.

I didn't know when the waterworks started but I felt something wet on my face. I reached a hand up to see what it was, but my vision kept changing.

One second, I saw water and the next, blood. Both of my hands were covered in blood and my vision was getting blurry.

Everything felt dizzy before I collapsed in a heap on the floor. Alicia's smiling face was the last thing that I remembered.
