Summary of the end of chapter 7:
Udger, the Slave trader loves to rape and torture woman.
One day before he plans to have his ways with Cilia, he brutally tortures one and Cilia saw it all happen.
He then tells her, that she will have the same fate tomorrow, just that she will survive longer as he had planed to enjoy his whole day with her, healing her with potions before she dies.
Cilia is mortified and makes up her mind to kill him the next day as it is her only choice to get out.
----------------------------------------------------------------
This would be an event that would forever be branded into her mind, following her for years to come.
Cilia was unable to sleep that day. She was traumatized and the whole room had the smell of blood.
She was glad that she was at least able to suppress these memories temporary due to her 2nd trait, but she also knew that she would be unable to forget this day for the next few years.
Cilia was at least able to temporarily deal with her emotions and concentrate on how to escape and formulate a plan.
She would kill as many guards as she could and disable the slave collars with an electricity based magic attack, that would act similar to an EMP and slipping out when the chaos ensued.
Hours passed as she created a puppet that would be inextinguishable from herself for anyone for at least 10 seconds.
According to her predictions Udger would at least need 1 minutes to notice anything, enough time to deal with him.
She replaced the puppet with herself and hid in the shadow, taking out her bow she had previously stored in her dimensional space. It wasn't her usual bow, it was a little shortbow, shorten then Cilias arm.
Ufger was ecstatic, while he was thinking what he could do with Cilia today, as he hurriedly walked over to her cell.
As he entered Cilia's cell, he saw her dangling on the ground, chained up with her limbs lifelessly falling to the ground. He had already seen this sight hundreds of time, it seems her toy had already given up on living.
He was a bit disappointed, he had hoped she would be different and try to get away from him till the end. However his disappointment couldn't mask his greed for her body.
At the same time, Cilia was sweating a few meters away, forcing her body to obey her and to not succumb to fear.
She knew she had developed a trauma and deeply feared that man, but she had no choice but to suppress her emotions and hold on.
Quickly readying herself, Cilia enchanted her arrows with ice magic. She wasn't in need to use a silencing spell, as one was already laid around the room.
Udger had already touched her puppet with his filthy hands.
Having fired her arrows, Cilia quickly went into close combat as the room was to small for her to maneuver enough to use her bow well.
„WHAT!" Udger had his excitement drop and his anger rose as he noticed someone trying to assassinate him in his own personal dungeon cell.
The attacker had already injured him quite a bit as he ran to his torture tools, taking out a bonesaw, using it like a sword.
Cilia however, had prepared the whole night for this fight as she activated a fireball spell.
Udger easily parried it and prepared to rush forward, as he had a bad premonition and quickly threw the bonesaw away.
Unluckily for him Karma wasn't very kind to him as the bomb, that had been stuck inside the weapon exploded, obliterating his arm and sending sharp pieces into his body.
Cursing he threw himself out of the range of the incoming arrow.
Cilia, already predicting this, commanded her arrow to explode, injuring Udger's feet.
She was glad to have brought enough gunpowder to build these few explosives.
„You! How can you use Magic, I saw your salve collar! You shouldn't be able to use any magic! N-No wait! How did you get rid of it!?"
"You are not worth enough to know. Her thoughts had already delved deeper into the abyss.
She noticed wanting to stay and torture Udger before abandoning him to starve to death.
Cilia didn't even know, she was capable doing something like this, she couldn't completely control herself.
She cut of all of Udgers limbs and threw him into the corner.
She used her space magic to bind the entrance of this room to his life. The entrance would disappear as long as he would be alive, making it only possible for space mages to enter or leave.
Cilia quickly left the cell, activating her EMP and sneaking out of the dungeon, killing every guard in sight and telling the slaves to run. It wasn't originally her plan, but she had killed Udger more efficiently than she thought and had enough remaining time to not let guilt fester in her mind for abandoning these slaves.
Seeing the young elven woman kill all the guards, made the slaves hopeful as one after another chose to run away. (Cilia transformed into an elf before coming here)
Although Cilia had escaped, she was unable to hold out anymore and collapsed in her room.
Crawling to the toilet, Cilia let her stomach empty itself completely as she collapsed on the ground, fainting.
2 days later - Cilia's inn room
Jamie, who had felt Cilia's emotional distress 3 days prior, headed back to Thaneldur, where he quickly found her through the tracker. She had passed out in the bathroom and was having a nightmare, moving and sweating heavily.
He gently laid her on the bed, only being able to pray for her to wake up soon.
At that time Cilia was dreaming about her death, continuously being tortured for days without a pause. Never to be in peace again.
Jamie took his time, caring for Cilia as he could only try to comfort her.
1 day later, Cilia woke up, but her nightmare had never ended. It was dark, she was scared of the dark. It was scary, it reminded her of that day.
She was to scared to do anything, as she just laid there crying.
Jamie had noticed after several attempts, that he couldn't get close to Cilia right now, he would only scare her, worsening her condition. As such he kept his distance, as long as he could, only stepping in to get Cilia her meal.
As such days passed by. Cilia was now able to walk through her room freely, however she couldn't step out of the room at the moment.
Jamie was able to stay close, as she wouldn't do anything and would only stay in her space, as long as he would keep a distance of at least 1 meter.
Cilia was getting better, but she knew her own mental condition.
Although she was able to suppress the memories, her body would still react if she would get out of her comfort zone.
She predicted to need at least another week to be functional again, even with the help of her trait.
Cilia was well aware, a part of her had died that day. She was never really compassionate before, but her kindness had only dampened after the accident.
Jamie had already left, after Cilia made it clear that he was not allowed in her room again.
She was thankful to him, but there were to many reasons for her not being able to trust him.
Cilia was resting in her bed most of the time, duo to her still feeling unwell, as she had been dizzy since waking up.
Jamie was already on his way, back to do his mission, while happily humming. Cilia would be fine after some time and his plans had advanced greatly, as he had saved himself years of work.
He had his hard broken seeing Cilia in this state, but he was aware that all would be worth it if his planned would end up succeeding.
With Markus and his groups backing, Cilia was finally able to relax, as she had been granted a 'vacation'. She was however not allowed to return and would have to leave the city, before she would be implicated by her own actions.
Cilia's only choice was to camp out in the open as she started to build herself an house, mainly consisting out of Ice, as she still had around 2 months 'vacation' remaining.
Time flew by as one month had already passed, her trauma had largely been suppressed and Cilia was now able to fully concentrate on training for the remaining month.
Although she had learned a lot in the last years, Cilia still didn't know what the maximum capacity of her abilities was.
Her limit testing had largely been centred around her space magic, which had however improved in the meantime.
As such Cilia decided to get a better overview of her abilities. It turned out, Cilia had largely underestimated her control over Ice, as she had previously only controlled it in a radius of around 10 metres. In truth her range was around 10 times the previously used amount, around 100 meters. She could go further but it would quickly tire her out and wouldn't be worth it, as she could just walk a bit into the required direction.
Cilia was able to create structures freely till the 75 metre mark, would however be restricted a bit for the remaining 25.
She loved using her Ice to obstruct or freeze her enemies, but she was itching to try something out, which she had read in a novel about a few years back.
The first step was to find an enemy. For this Cilia had found a bandit hideout, near her location.
The second step was to create an Ice spear, with the third being to ram it up their rare.
It was surprisingly satisfying doing so, but she still had a sense of shame. She wouldn't do it...., at least not if others were looking.
After experimenting a bit, Cilia had found out that the range of her abilities would also depend on her environment.
For example if she used lightning while on a metal surface, her range would grow exponentially. It would be the same with her Ice, while she was on water, as she didn't have to create water from the H20 in the atmosphere.
Her assortment of combat ready elements had grown, as she could use every basic element (water, fire, earth, wind) and had no problem using other variants (like metal, Ice, etc.). However non of them could even get close to her mastery over Ice and Darkness, as these were her main elements.
But she could easily make others believe that her main elements were different, making it easier to fool others away from her real identity.
Her space abilities had only grown in range and space. Nothing she had knowledge of could enhance this element. Maybe only divine type materials could create tools to enhance space and time.
Cilia was able to use the remaining time to further her knowledge about science and how to build new weapons.
Although she had previously used bombs to kill Udger, those were only the simplest ones.
She could now barely create basic firearms. They were not very useful, as she would have to reload for every shot.
But she was still happy with her progress as she got closer to her goals to create advanced technologie.
