Psyker System - A Disturbance in the Warp

This is my first ever fanfic and I won't be trying to have perfect grammar, so there will be some mistakes. Although I love 40k lore, I'm not perfect, so there will be inaccuracies and I will welcome any criticism. Thanks for giving it a read! Updates will be on most weekdays, rarely on weekends. This takes a lot of inspiration from Death Korps of Justice, please go check it out, it's a great read! I don't own the cover, all rights go to the owner.

Requiem of the Forgotten

Deep within our young hero, something incredible was happening. The orb had almost fully merged with his soul and was starting to pump potent amounts of psychic energy into him.

This was causing some interesting phenomena to happen around him as his psychic energy started increasing from low Epsilon to high Epsilon.

Not having time to question what had just happened to him, he readied his lasgun and started firing upon the heretics while dodging any shots fired at him through his new ability. As the remaining guardsmen also started firing, the room turned into a chaotic battleground.

Lasers flew through the air, blowing off any limb they touched, killing guardsmen and heretic alike. Blood scattered around the room, filling the noses of the survivors with the scent of iron.

Eventually, the only survivors were B-49032, the heretic lord and two of his elite soldiers that remained behind as bodyguards.

The heretic lord was dressed in fine silk robes and wearing all kind of jewelry, signifying his place in society. The elite guards were equipped with boltguns and bits and pieces of a space marine's power armor. They had probably looted their gear off of a dead Astartes.

Seeing that his chances were slim B-49032 decided to try out his newfound power and aimed at the soldiers who calmly readied their own guns, drunk off their false sense of power.

He calmed his mind and fired, trusting in this strange power, and the shot was good. At the exact moment the elite soldier raised his arm to fire, the laser flew under the guards arm and pierced through his armpit straight into his chest. The projectile flew directly through the guard's heart and lungs, causing him to fall to the ground like a limp marionette.

The second guard, seeing the death of the first panicked and started firing upon B-49032. Following the premonitions, he managed to avoid the bullets, letting them safely explode meters behind him.

Activating his foresight once more, B-49032 fired his lasgun at the elite soldier. This blast shot right through the damaged goggle on the dented astartes helmet that this guard wore. Just like the first, the second guard collapsed to the ground like a sack of potatoes, except this sack was leaking blood and brain matter from around its head.

With no remorse, our lone guardsman aimed his lasgun at his last target, the heretic lord who caused the fall of this planet.

Now, this heretic lord knew he was truly and royally screwed. He knew that there was still an entire battalion of Astartes that hadn't even entered the battle yet and he was already out of cannon fodder.

And so, the moment B-49032 fired his lasgun, the lord raised his hands and stopped the blast midair. Then, with a wave of his hand, the laser turned around and flew back at the Death Korps soldier.

B-49032 saw this coming, so he had already prepared to jump, but when he attempted to, he was stuck, he was frozen in place. Only one word went through the soldiers mind before the laser blew his head off, 'Psyker.'

Normally this would be the end for most sentient life, however, milliseconds before his demise, the orb had full fused with him.

As the guardsman lost consciousness and drifted off into the warp, most likely to be consumed as fuel by daemons, the orb activated. The orb started to glow a bright blue, not the dark blue of Tzeentch, but a light blue, like the color of the sky on a clear day.

The orb took control of the psychic mass of energy, or soul as some may call it, and forced it to remain in place. Then it directed it out of the castle and up into the sky, past the smog-filled clouds and the atmosphere of the doomed planet, until it was floating in the middle of the solar system.

Then it opened up a small portal into the warp and carried the mass of energy through it. After a few seconds, the portal closed, and as soon as it did, one would be able to see a literal sea of projectiles fly down onto the planet.

When one of the projectiles touched the planet, they would erupt into a mushroom cloud that would stretch for miles each. What was occurring here was the legendary, exterminatus, an inquisitor has signed this planet's death warrant.

Back in the warp, the small mass of energy flew through the warp, adeptly avoiding any daemons looking for a meal. It traveled for what could've been centuries, or maybe it was only a minute, warp time was strange like that.

Regardless, it eventually reached its destination and opened another portal, slipping through the crack and emerging on an unknown planet, in an unknown sector of the universe.
