Protector of the World Tree

I suddenly woke up hearing someone calling me. "My child, its time to wake up." I slowly stood up and watched the place surrounding me. I looked behind my back and saw an enormous tree, as if we were one. "My child." Suddenly, creatures coming from different directions appear in front of me, forming a crescent-moon shape. One by one they bowed and flower petals fell from the sky. "Welcome home, my child."

Going to Auvraneian Kingdom 5

Rai's POV

"Did you have a good sleep?" I asked

"Yes." He said and poured some water and gave it to me.

"Thank you." I was about to drink water when we suddenly heard an explosion.

"What was that?" Everyone was startled and went to the nearest window. We heard a loud growl inside the dark cave. Khasis suddenly roared out loud, as if he were telling it to stop. Khasis's body shook from his roar, and it stopped growling. He continued to pass through the dark cave and headed to the deepest part of the ocean.

Days passed, and we were nearly approaching the Auvraneian Kingdom. The guys started their morning with a sword match that almost blew Khasis' shell. Good thing I made precautionary measurements before they started fighting.

"*Clap, clap, clap* All right, that's enough for today." They withdrew their swords and bowed to each other.

"Everyone did a great job." The Crown Prince applauded with astonishment on his face. He was very delighted to see the Young Duke, and Killian's fighting skills, as he's always buried in paperwork every day.

Killian and Kelvhan were bickering about a certain product, while the Crown Prince and the Young Duke were talking about aristocrats and taxes. And here I am, groaning silently for the umpteenth time as Callis is reporting through telpathy. It looks like he found something interesting again. I just let Callis talk to me for hours, since all I do for the entire day is sleep and eat.

'That's the end of my report, my lord.' After many hours of him squabbling, I can finally rest.

'Good job, Callis. I will contact you when we arrive at the Auvraneian.'

'Understood, my lord.' I lay on the bed.

'Knock, knock.'

"Come in." The door opened, but no one was there. The door suddenly closed, and a barrier appeared and covered the entire room.

"It's rare for you to come and find me." He finally showed me his true form. His golden rainbow eyes were intensely staring at me.

"I want to tell you something." Zeth.

"Ohh... it must be something confidential that you can't even share with your owner." He flinched and avoided making eye contact with me. I just yawned and stretched my hand, ready to sleep.

"What are you doing?" Zeth asked.

"*Yawn* Sleeping." I lay on the bed and closed my eyes.

"*Sigh in frustration* I- I don't know how to control my mana!" I opened my eyes and looked at him.

"I'm listening." The conversation took an hour and helped him control his mana.

"I can't!!" He cried in despair while rolling over and over.

"Well, if my advice didn't help you, should I call Xaithus?" He looked at me with a confused look.

"Xai- what?"

"Xaithus, the current dragon lord." I flicked my hand, and a portal appeared in front of us. Suddenly, a man with black hair came out of the portal. He kneeled and placed his right hand on his left shoulder.

"I greet the Lord." He spoke.

"Arise." He was surprised when he recognized the dragon.

"Zeth."

"Y-yes!" The dragon flinched when I called his name.

"From now on, he will be your teacher and will guide you to become a great dragon." I said.

"But how can I-"

"Just be sure to not tell anyone about Xaithus's existence, or it will cause turmoil," I said, patting his head.

"But Lucas-" I cut him off again.

"You must keep it just for yourself. When the time comes, I will tell him everything. I said, and Zeth suspiciously stared at me.

"You promise?" Zeth.

"*Sigh* I promise." I looked at Xaithus with a serious face.

"Do what you have to do Xaithus." I said.

"Yes! My lord!" Xaithus said, hinting an excitement on his face.

"Good luck." I grinned ear to ear, and I could see him quiver in fear. After that, they started training every night at a deserted place that I made inside the portal. The other guys were also practicing in the hall every day, and I have been sleeping all day, talking with Ellen in my dreams.

'Sigh.' We looked at the person who seemed to have trouble sleeping.

"You don't look well, Your Highness." Right now, we are having lunch in the hall. We rarely meet each other since they are busy doing their own business while I am observing Zeth's growth.

"Are you having trouble sleeping, Your Highness?" Killian

"I'm fine." He is currently playing his food while looking worried about something.

"Are you worried about something, Your Highness?" asked the Young Duke.

"I'm worried about Zeth." Crown prince.

"Now that I think about it, I rarely see him running around inside and discovering weird things." Killian and the Young Duke agreed on what Kelvhan said.

"Have you seen Zeth, My Lord?" I placed my teacup down and looked in the Crown Prince's direction.

"I didn't get a single glimpse of Zeth after we went inside Khasis's shell." Lying seems to be my forte these days.

"I see.... *mumbled,* where could he be?" I just sip my tea and remain silent for the entire lunch. After we had lunch, everyone returned to work. I quietly went to my room, locked the door, and placed a protective barrier to prevent anyone from finding out. I opened the portal and came in silently.

As I entered the deserted place, I saw someone controlling the huge tornadoes, and boulders started flying up to the sky.

"*Sigh* I told him not to overexert," I mumbled and teleported towards the two dragons, who are intensely fighting.

"*Smirk* Not bad, kid." Zeth attacked Xaithus with thousands of lightning bolts, but Xaithus gathered hundreds of boulders to make it look like a shield.

"*Smiles* teacher taught me well." They continued fighting for hours.

"My lord." I looked to my right and I saw Callis preparing some snacks.

"Ohh... you finished it earlier than I expected." I sipped the cold lemonade and continued to examine Zeth's fighting skills.

"Yes, I completely solved the issues, My Lord."

"Good work, Callis. You can have a rest." I said.

"Yes, thank you, My Lord." I got up and applauded twice, and their mana completely disappeared. They slowly came down from the sky and greeted me.

"So, how was it?" I asked.
