Hibiki looked at Jura for help but stopped before he could open his mouth again. The eyes Jura had right now… Did Jura really believe in what Wendy was saying? If anything Jura didn't seem too shocked at this.

"You use Sky Magic don't you?"

Wendy nodded awkwardly, looking up at Jura as confidently as she could. "I'm the Sky Dragon Slayer."

And then both Mages' jaws dropped. A Dragon Slayer? This little girl was a Dragon Slayer?

"I know what you're thinking," she muttered dejectedly. "I'm not very strong am I? I'm only good at Support and Healing Magic, and I can barely use any Offensive Magic. I'm not really what people expect like Natsu is or this Gajeel I've heard of is."

"Don't say that," said Jura as he tried to comfort her. "I'm sure you are strong yourself, just in other ways. That Healing Magic of yours isn't anything to laugh at." His expression turned serious once more as he looked at her. "So what is it that you see. What makes Sky Magic so special?"

"Um… My mother, Grandeeney, she's a Dragon by the way… She explained to me that Sky Magic was different from the other Magic that involved use of the air."

"Wind, Air and Sky," said Hibiki helpfully. "Those are the three main recorded types of Magic that involve air, though Wind has always said to be the most deadly of the three."

"I suppose it is," muttered Wendy softly. "She said that Wind Dragon Slayer Magic was the best of the three for combat. The wind is sharper and faster, and those who used it were extremely deadly due to the cutting power behind their attacks."

"While Air Magic would be perhaps a type of Effect Magic?" asked Hibiki. "I know that Ren uses it that way."

"Yes. It's better suited to cast effects within areas and allow the greatest freedom of movement by travelling through the air."

Wendy took a small breath before continuing. "Sky Dragon Slayer Magic is, and has always been, different from all other Dragon Slayer Magic. I think it applies to all other Sky Magic as well as it was meant to be something unique. Grandeeney said something about a blessing that happened to the Magic long ago, sometime at the start of all Magic."

Wendy slowly raised her head, looking up at the sky. "All Sky Magic users see the world differently. We see a flow in the world unlike any other. I think the Master said once that we were perhaps seen as Shamans because of this as we could act as a bridge between humans and the very Magic around us."

Jura looked intrigued at this piece of information while Hibiki struggled to take it in. "So let me get this straight," started Hibiki. "Are you saying that you basically can see the particles of Eternano in the air, even when they aren't visible? How is that possible?"

"I knew you wouldn't believe me," said Wendy with a pout. "Only the Master did when I told him. The Jellal I knew before I met the Master didn't know what to make of what I was talking about."

"No," said Jura, raising a hand to stop Hibiki from saying anything. "I believe you. Please, continue."

Wendy looked at the two in case she was simply being made of fun of before continue. "I don't see all of it because there would be too much to see. I see where the Eternano gathers, streams of Magic flying around us and flying into the sky, joining a never ending flow of Magic."

Wendy smiled widely as she looked back up, her eyes glancing around as she watched things they couldn't see. "Did you know that's where we all go when we die? Grandeeney told me that. She said that everything is born and that everything dies, and when it does it all goes to the same place. An endless flow of Magic that sails around the world. It's why people say Magic is alive. Because it is, or at least to some degree it is. It can even show emotions in the way it acts. If something bad happened somewhere, it would swirl around angrily, while it floats about happily around areas of peace."

"And this is how you can see the state of someone."

Wendy nodded. "Yep. Magic surrounds everyone to some degree, even those with only a tiny spark of Magic. I don't know exactly how to describe it but Magic tells me what's wrong. I think my Magic acts as a translator of sorts since the more Grandeeney taught me, the easier it came to understand Magic."

"I see." Jura sighed in relief. "That helps explain a lot. I thought you were afraid of Ichigo because of something he did, but I'm glad to see it was only because he had such a large volume of Magic. I'm sure that must have been surprising for you."

"No," said Wendy honestly. "The amount didn't bother me."

Jura looked at her in disbelief. She simply responded to it with an "I was raised by a Dragon" comment. And, thinking about it, that did answer it. A Dragon was a creature with massive reserves of Magic, something no normal human could ever equal. Ichigo had a lot of Magic, no one could deny that, but a Dragon would still have more. They were simply creatures of Magic in that sense.

"But if it wasn't Ichigo's Magical Power that scared you then what was it? Was it the nature of it or something like that?"

Wendy shook her head. "I can't tell what kind of nature a Magic has, only possible effects it has on things when in use."

Jura frowned. He was honestly confused now. "Then why are you afraid of him?"

Wendy fidgeted where she was standing. "He's strange. I'm not the terrified afraid, but more the confused afraid. I haven't seen anything like I have around him."

A gear seemed to click in his mind before he asked the question that had plagued his mind since Wendy had spoken about seeing things. "What is happening with the Magic around Ichigo?"

Wendy looked up at Jura in surprise. "You know what's happening?"

"No, but I've come across a Sky Magic user before. At the time, I believed his talk to be nothing but nonsense, but now before me is a second Sky Magic user describing the same things as he did. So what is happening to the Magic around Ichigo?"

Wendy struggled with words for a moment. "Around everyone… There's this protection I could say, or maybe a small shield? It's the same for everyone I've ever seen except for some rare exceptions. Always the same. Magic flows slightly different, I'll admit that, but there is always a normal pattern to it. The best way to describe it is that it is there. Nothing more and nothing less. And for those rare exceptions, well one didn't even have that protection at the normal level it should have been at and the other had it in a way I'm not exactly sure how to describe. Those two were my Jellal and the Master of Cait Shelter."

Wendy finally turned her gaze back to Ichigo. Now that he knew she wasn't properly afraid, Jura watched her expression closely. There were still traces of fear but he could see other emotions. Confusion, perhaps at what she was seeing, and fascination, something that confused him completely when put with the fear.

"I've never seen Magic react like this to someone," Wendy muttered. "He's drawing Magic into his body, using it to help heal himself. I can see this all with ease. But what shocks me so much is how willingly Magic is doing this. It was like this when I first met him but on a much lower level, merely following him around closely. The things I get from it when around him… I said how Magic has emotions but I always saw mostly indifference when around people. But around him, it's like it loves him. Why else would so much Magic be gathering to him so readily?"

Wendy leaned down next to Ichigo and brought a hand up to one of the cracks, ignoring Hibiki's warning to be careful. "It's all gathering, even though not all of it is being absorbed. It's like its saying 'Choose me. I'll help him' or 'I'm here. Tell me what you need'. It's both frightening to see someone Magic treats this way and wonderful as I've never seen Magic act this way."

Wendy suddenly dropped her shoulders and made sure Jura and Hibiki couldn't see her face properly as her smile dropped. "He knew I was scared of him, but not why. And he was so nice to me anyway. I didn't deserve it with the way I was treating him, and he probably saw me watching him. I just couldn't help it. I didn't know what to say. I wanted to speak to Grandeeney about it but she's gone. And Carla doesn't understand what I see very well."

Resolve suddenly shown in Wendy's eyes as she brought up her hands, Magic gathering around them once more. "But I won't let it stop me. That man, Brain, he said that I wouldn't heal Ichigo because I'm scared of him. But I'm not that kind of person. And I can't let someone who Magic seems to love so much die because I was slightly afraid of him. I would never be able to call myself a healer if I did such a thing. I'll save him."

Before she could do anything, an arm shot up and wrapped around her, pulling her in against Ichigo's chest. Wendy blushed from the sudden hug as a hand landed on her head.

"So you didn't hate me," said Ichigo softly. "Good to know you are alright. I messed up back then when I tried to get you back. Sorry."

"That's impossible," said Jura before shooting a glare at Hibiki. The Mage nodded, acknowledging what Jura wanted. He rushed over to Ichigo, his Archive Magic rapidly scanning Ichigo despite Ichigo's waving at the annoying screens.

The moment they finished, Hibiki glanced at them, completely in shock. Wendy answered the question they all knew the answer to. "The poison's gone."

"Poison?" Ichigo released Wendy as he slowly stood up. "I was poisoned?"

"Yes…" Jura blinked a few times, still trying to process what he was seeing. "But how is this possible? Even with the Magic you were gathering towards you, your Instant Regeneration was only slowly making progress. How did that suddenly change?"

Wendy's eyes widened. "When I was healing Natsu! I thought it was more difficult that it should have been. And it did drain me quite a bit too. More than I expected at least. That was you. You were drawing in my Healing Magic and having it purge the poison from your body."

"And the cracks are decreasing their draw of Magic," said Hibiki as he glanced at an Archive screen. "It looks like things are turning out okay."

"Hold up," said Ichigo, a hand raised. "What do you mean that I was drawing in Magic?"

All pairs of eyes turned to look at him. Jura frowned and asked the question on everyone's mind. "Are you saying that you aren't aware of that ability?"

"What ability?"

"You… You really don't know do you."

Wendy glanced between the two in confusion. "But… Then if Ichigo doesn't have the ability to draw in Magic, how was he doing so?"

"Did you hear her explanation?" Ichigo glanced from Wendy to Jura before nodding.

"Somewhat. I heard stuff about Magic acting strangely."

"I'll explain the rest to you later then. Long story short, Magic seems to like you for some reason and likely was trying to help you by forcing its way into your skin. That's the most likely reasoning behind what happened here."

Hibiki and Wendy frowned at Jura, both realising something was off with what Jura was saying. It seemed Ichigo didn't notice however and just accepted the answer, the two resolving to speak about it later with Jura. For some reason the man didn't want to say everything right now and was using some of Wendy's words as an excuse for what had been happening. It helped Ichigo hadn't heard all of the conversation, but for them it was strange. Hibiki knew that Jura seemed to be holding back on something and Wendy knew that wasn't how Magic would work. She was what could be considered an expert on its behaviour after all.

Before anyone could say anything else, a massive amount of Magic exploded from the ground in the distance. Despite their distance, they could see the sight clearly. A massive pillar of black light.

Protector Of The Fairies

Ichiya stared across at the sky ahead of them, carefully managing the controls of Christina. Ren and Eve had taken refuge in the weapons areas for the time being which meant he was left alone with Carla and Happy. This meant he could let some of his worries be shown without worrying about putting on a brave face for his disciples.

"Do you think I made the right decision?"

Carla glanced up at her from her position on one of the tables nearby before shrugging as best as she could. "I honestly don't know. Wendy can be fairly naïve sometimes and will put too much faith in people. She's too trusting and that is both good and bad. If anything she's too innocent. That's exactly how I want her to stay though."

"So she could have read Jellal wrong then?"

"Is this Jellal truly that bad? Wendy spoke of a Jellal when she was younger but I don't know if they are the same Jellal."

"He's evil," supplied Happy. "He was meant to Erza and tried to kill her. Natsu beat him up though but he still did a lot of bad things to people."

"I see." Carla sighed. "I'll say trust Wendy here. She knows that he isn't her Jellal which means she was aware this man could be somewhat different, yet she still trusts him to some degree to help her. I don't know why and I won't pretend to know either but perhaps she found something in him that makes him trustworthy."

Carla glanced downwards, shaking her head slightly. "I'm afraid for Wendy but I see no logical reason to have brought her to Christina in the first place if he wanted something from her. He had nothing to gain and a lot to lose. He could be worth taking a chance on right now, even if he has done a lot of bad stuff."

"Still," said Happy. "How can we trust him after everything he did?"

Carla froze before speaking slowly. "Perhaps… Perhaps he didn't plan to do it all. Sometimes people need to do stuff because they were raised that way… Or perhaps an order existed commanding them to do such things. For all we know he could have been fighting some unseen command and is now trying to go down his own path."

Ichiya frowned at her explanation, sensing something wrong with it. He went to open his mouth but he paused before any words could come out. He had no right to pry, especially with the expression that cat was making.

"Okay," Ichiya finally said. "I'll bear what you said in mind. Sometimes people can change. However if he truly did such a thing to my Erza… Well maybe she shouldn't know he is with us right now."

Happy startled. "You… You want to keep a secret… From Erza? Are you crazy? She'll kill us!"

"It's for her own good," muttered Ichiya. "Keeping secrets from our allies isn't right, but we need to think of a bigger picture here. It would be foolish to deny Jellal's strength if he can offer it to us. Even if Ichigo and Natsu recover quickly enough, how strong will they currently be? Natsu might be in the better condition while Ichigo may be almost drained because of his Magic's efforts at keeping him alive. Jura is one of the strongest of us left and we do have Shinji out there too, but I don't want to take any chances. We've already almost lost people. I don't want anyone here to die."

Carla nodded at hearing Ichiya's words. "Then you did make the right decision. We'll either win or lose, and we were, in my opinion, losing. Adding Jellal to the mix will either do nothing or have helped us get a chance to win."

"Um…" Happy caught their attention as he stared out of the glass of the cockpit. "What's that?"

Carla and Ichiya looked forward, just in time to see the rest of the light burst from the ground, forming a pillar of black light in the distance. Ichiya sighed in resignation before slowly speaking.

"That is Nirvana."

Protector Of The Fairies

So I think we are at the official half point place for this arc. Nirvana has been released, but this time with Cobra's work. How does he know how to do that however? And three members of Oración Seis have been dealt with and three still remain, not including Zero. There's still more to go, but I'm slowly getting close to writing the arc's end. I've dealt with almost every fight now and all the events around them mostly.

So what did people think? The reason Wendy was afraid of Ichigo has been revealed, and I'm sure many of you have theories on why Magic reacts this way to him. And Jura seems to have heard of a similar thing from a different Sky Magic user. It was my way of giving Sky Dragon Slayer Magic a uniqueness to it, and I'm sure you all guessed why Wendy's Jellal looked different to normal people.

Nirvana is unsealed however, and the effects of that will ripple out in the next chapter as we see the actions that take place. It isn't fully operational yet but time is limited here.

Now quickly, onto Manga stuff. Bleach finally had Kenpachi appear, though it is a shame we didn't get to see more of Yachiru. Oh well, we get Kenpachi so I guess it is okay. As for Fairy Tail, I knew it would be Hades. I kind of want to see Natsu get absorbed however just to see if there would be anything that the Demon would sense that linked Natsu to Zeref.

Anyway, till the next time. I've been Takei. Thanks for reading.
