He Won't Leave Yet

“Roxie.” Hero was on the other side of the glass in his wolf form. He had handled a lot of things in his life. His earliest memories even dwelled on fighting. This though, it made him feel absolutely miserable. He was a hero, he saved people! That's what he did. He saved cities, towns, singular persons in need of help. Those same people that he had saved, would not allow him to save the one wolf of his kind he could have actually befriended. “I failed.”

“Failed?” She approached the glass. “Failed at what?”

“Buying you wasn't enough. An application has been pushed through and contracts have been signed.” He strolled over and hit a button, lifting the glass structure between them. There was no reason to keep her caged another minute. “You have been sentenced to go back to your original world.”

“No. No one would decide on something like that,” Roxie countered.
