The location of the tournament was actually Earth's neighbouring planet, Mars.

After some deliberation, the little red planet had been set days earlier to be the makeshift battle location for the global competition. It was actually the prime choice of all the planetary bodies near Earth, and after some of the cultivators worked on it to transform a vast portion of the landmass into habitable space for the competing mortals, it was just perfect.

More than three hundred and thirty million people between the ages of sixteen and thirty five registered for the tournament, and less than two percent failed to show up at the designated pick-up locations the previous morning. With this turnout, the organizing crew of the tournament had to come up with ingenious methods to cut down the number and retain the mortals with more unique abilities.
