After the announcement, Remus led Grain back to the throne room. Apparently, he wished to have a 'one-on-one', with his grandson.
A second throne had been added, offset from the main one. This throne was also made of bones, but lacked the red, vein-like lines. Grain had been told to sit in the other throne, and Remus had just stared at him from the other. This lasted several minutes, until Remus finally spoke.
"Your fathers name was Lancet."
"Nearly a century ago, I used some ancient magic to produce an heir. I used a female demon as a surrogate, and planted my seed in her, fusing it with massive amounts of mana. I wanted a half-blood as an heir, simply because I truly believe in the progress of both races."
"I have never revealed my race to the world, and they just assumed I was a demon. I'll admit, I purposely didn't correct this idea."
"I digress, your father was my first child, and I loved him dearly. Maybe too much."
