Chapter 53 Running Away
Linda's POV
The mage nodded nervously and quickly left the room to carry out his task. Andrew turned to me, his expression filled with interest.
"What?" I asked, "Why are you looking at me this way?"
He leaned closer, as if to have a better look at me. "I have to say I'm impressed."
"How?" I inquired.
"I always thought you were an educated lady, raised well in a respectable family, always carrying your grace and unable to protect yourself. But look at you now. You're scheming, ambitious, and so skilled at threatening people. I feel like I'm just starting to get to know you better, my fiancée."
I scoffed, "Being born into a big family only sharpened my skills at scheming. Feel free to know me better or not. I don't care. But remember not to fall in love with me. You can't bear the consequences."
