Chapter 13 My Fiancée

I ventured out, determined to speak with Matt's maid. She informed me that he had secluded himself in his study, consumed by a mysterious task. Unfortunately, she had no knowledge of the specifics. Meanwhile, Sophia remained confined within the mansion, pissed off by the shame of Matt's slap and the humiliation she endured because of me.

With concern etched upon her face, the maid asked, "How are you holding up? I heard you're now engaged to Alex! Congratulations!"

"Thank you," I replied, feeling a mixture of emotions. "It's a long story. In fact, I came to you because I need your help. I left something extremely important behind. I believe Matt has it locked away in his study. Do you happen to know when he'll be away?"

The maid hesitated, wary of getting into trouble. "I'm not sure, miss."

"Please, I need your help. Any information would be greatly appreciated."
