Episode 3: School Trip (part one)

"Are you ready to go Nate?" Camila asked walking into the base where the guys were. It's like they live there now. Dash is always on the computer and Nathan is at the moment checking out his new laptop.

The two guys looked at each other

"Ready for what?" Nathan asked looking at the girl

"To drive me to school. Remember we had a deal. I won't ask to see you mechanical parts again and you will drive me to school every day starting today" Camila said

"Fine" Nathan said and got up.

Dash toss him the keys to the red race car

"Bye Dash" Camila said and the two went outside

Camila and her friend Lucy Martin walked into their class together laughing a something some kid had said in the hallway

"Did you complete your biology assignment?" Lucy asked happily

"Yep. I had some help too" Camila said grinning

"Oh, is it the really handsome guy that drove you today?" Lucy asked wiggling her eyebrows

"Yep" Camila replied "His name is Nathan but he prefers to be called Nate"

The two sat on the chair at the middle of the class

"How come you didn't introduce me" Lucy asked with a frown

"He left in a hurry. Maybe next time" Camila said taking out her books

"Speaking of attractive guys, look who it is" Lucy said looking at the door

Camila raised her head to see Logan and Finley walk into the class in all their glory. Camila rolled her eyes. She just had to be in same class with two of the hottest guys in school didn't she?

The two walked to their sits behind the class next to the window. Finley was outgoing and funny. Logan was full of himself and arrogant. How the two put up with each other is surprising.

The biology teacher walked in a few moments later. He was a man in his early thirties with black hair and blue eyes. The man, Mr David walked to the front of the class and kept his bag on the table. He brought out some files from his bag

"Okay class, this are permission slips. I'm going to hand them out to everyone. Have you parents or guardian sigh them and summit by tomorrow morning. We're going for a little field trip" Mr David said walking round the class passing out the forms.

"Field Trip?" Lucy asked looking at her form

"This ought to be fun" Camila said folding the form in two and keeping it between her book

"So, we're going for a field trip tomorrow." Camila said placing the form on Dash's desk.

"The jungle? What you guys going to do there?" Dash asked looking at the form

"We are going to fine some interesting discover or something. Maybe some dinosaurs fossil" Camila said with smiling widely

"I seriously doubt you'll be finding any dinosaur fossil out there" Dash said signing on the guardian space

"I won't be so sure about that Dash" Nathan said taping furiously on his laptop. He is wearing the new ranger's black jacket which had a dinosaur paw print logo on the back and the picture of a Trex head on the left chest side

"What?" Dash asked

"Look" Nathan said.

The siblings walked to the red ranger to see what he was working on

"Okay, I was trying to find the lost dino spiritgems. I did a global scan for energy signatures that match the energy signature from my spiritgem. I locked into the satellite network and search for traces of dino spiritgems in the jungle Mila's class is going to. Guess what I found" Nathan said

Dash and Camila looked at the screen. Four red dots we're blinking

"I tried to pinpoint the area the energy signature is coming from and I found this" Nathan said as a cave came up on the screen

"The energy reading are off the chart."

"They must be spiritgems in there" Dash said "Four of them"

"Well, you can come check it out tomorrow Nate. Maybe I'll introduce you to my friend Lucy" Camila said

"I don't think so" both Nathan and Dash said

"So, I follow Mila's school bus to the forest, find the cave, check for the dino spiritgems and come back here. All in favor?" Nathan asked

"Sounds like a plan to me. Let's just hope Lord Vendox and his goons don't find out about this or we'll be in trouble" Dash said

"I can't wait" Camila said clapping her hands in excitement before sitting on the chair next to Dash. She turned on the computer and process to do her homeworks for the day

"Good work Nathan" Dash said a smirk playing at the Conner of his lips

"Just call me Nate, Dash" Nathan said with a sigh and Camila and Dash snickered

"Is anyone up for an early dinner?" Camila asked looking up from her homework

Dash sighed leaning into his chair

"Yes please"

Nathan chuckled and Camila pushed her chair back and got up

"Dinner will be ready in a few then" she said walking out of the base

THE NEXT DAY

"Okay class, gather together. I'm going to call out the groups. Each group will have four students in it so listen up" Mr David said.

The students gathered close to him to hear which group they'll end up in.

Camila looked around for the red race car she till she spotted it. Nathan's fingers tap lightly on the door

Camila smiled and turned back to Lucy.

Most of the students didn't really care who they end up with, unless those whom want to be in same group with Logan and Finley

"Logan Hendrix, Finley Hutton, Noah Easton and Emma Wilson" the teacher called out

Gasps and groans filled the air but two voices topped them all

"What?!" Noah and Emma shouted catching everyone's attention. Noah was also cute but he was studious and Emma is the hottest girl in school

"What wrong Mr Easton, Miss Wilson?" Mr David asked

"Sorry sir but can't I change group?" Noah asked sounding hopeful

"Yeah. Can't I trade group with someone else?" Emma said folding her hand

"Can I switch with you?" A girl standing next to Emma asked. Emma looked at the girl feeling iritiated.

"I'm sorry guys but you can't change group" Mr David said

"But sir, if Emma doesn't want to be in her ground, you can always put her in another group and I'll take her place" Jennet, the second prettiest girl in school said trailing her hair round her finger. Her sidekicks, Ronnie nodded in agreement

"No. Every one stick to your group or you'll be failing my subject this year" Mr David said and walked away leaving no room for arguments

Noah and Emma walked up to Logan and Finley

Noah faced Logan with a frown

"I really don't want to be in same group as you" he said

Logan rolled his eyes.

"Well new flash, neither do I"

"Look, you two, I just want to get through with this as peacefully as possible so can you two fight each other some other day?" Emma asked

"Yeah guys, chill out." Finley said taking out his green headphone out of his bag. The bus horn ran through the air

"Ladies first" he said

Emma rolled her eyes and walked ahead of the guys

Finley puts on his headphone and zoned out the rest of the world

Noah and Logan gave each day dirty looks before following the others

Three people who could hardly stand each other in the same group? What could possibly go wrong

After the students were all sited in the bus, the driver pulled out of the parking lot and the journey began no one noticing the race car followed behind them

In The Jungle

The bus pulled up at an open space and the door opened.

The students walked out glad to be finally out after sitting for hours.

"Okay guy, I'm going to give one of these transceivers to the ground leader of each group. Don't wonder too far and always keep the transceivers with you at all time." Mr David said handing out the transceivers to a person in each group he see fit to be leader. "All groups should be back here in two hours. You may begin"

Logan was the leader of his group much to Noah's dismay. Emma didn't care who was leader as long as they get the work done and Finley probably didn't hear whom was appointed leader as he nodded his head in tone to whatever music he was listening to.

Emma adjusted her yellow beg hanging from her right shoulder. Logan had a black bag, Noah had a blue one and Finley had a green bag with him

"So, where should we begin?" Logan asked looking around. Most of the groups had left already

"Anywhere, as long as we don't get lost" Emma said looking around too

Noah looked at Finley whom still wasn't listening. He grabbed the head phone and Finley gave him a questioning look

"Focus will you?" Noah snapped

Finley collected his head phone and nodded. He put the headphone in his bag and took out a candy bar in exchange.

The four teens began to move away from the bus and into the jungle.

Nathan got out of the car and looked around before slamming the door shut

He took out his tracker and opened it's latch. He pressed it's enter button

"Dash, this is Nate. Can you hear me?" He asked

The screen came up and showed Dash

"I hear you" Dash said

"I'm ready. Send the co-ordinate" Nathan said

"Roger that" Dash said and tap some keys on his keyboard.

The screen on the changes to show a GPS receiver. A little red dot blinking on a spot

"The little red dot is you. Follow it and it will lead you directly to the cave entrance" Dash said

"Got it" Nathan said and started walking forward.

Logan, Noah, Finley and Emma came to a stop under a tree. Emma lean against the tree and sighed.

"We've been walking for ages" She complained

"I think I can go any further"

"Twenty minutes can hardly be considered ages" Finley said

"Well if I was in charge, we would have found something by now" Noah said

"You hardly did anything but complain about not being in charge all this time. What difference would it make if you were in charge" Logan said glaring at Noah

"Guys, let's save the fighting for when we get back to school. Right now we have two choices; we go back on go on" Finley said

"I say we go back" Emma said standing straight

"I agree" Finley said

"Whatever" Noah said and the three began walking back the way they came

"Woo woo woo, where are you guys going?" Logan asked

"Back man, I don't think any of us can go further" Finley said

"So you're all just going to give up? We haven't even been out here for half an hour. I'm no nerd but I know nobody has ever accomplish anything by giving up. Let's keep searching for a little while" Logan said

The remaining three looked at each other and back at Logan

"Fine. But since when did you give inspirational talks?" Emma asked

"I'm sure he just got it off the internet" Noah said and Logan rolled his eyes

Finley walked up to his friend and patted his shoulder

"You're really taking the leader role seriously" he said

"Hey, I have to if we're going to pass" Logan said and looked around

"Now, if only we have a scanner"

"Or a tracker of some sort" Noah said

"Are we listing things we don't have?" Finley said and looked around too

"Okay let's see. A screwdriver, a shovel, a girlfriend..."

"Stop." Noah said

"We're trying to think of a way to find undiscovered thing here"

Finley frowned

"What about a dinosaur fossil?" He asked looking over Logan's shoulder

"Yeah right. Like we'll find that" Emma said

"No, look" Finley said walking past them to the bone that lay on the grass a few feet from them

The others followed behind him

Finley bent and picked the bone to show the rest

"It's a bone alright. How do we know what kind it is?" Noah asked

"It's a Velociraptor fossil. A part from the back maybe" Finley said examining the bone

"How can you tell?" Emma asked

"His favorite dinosaur is the Velociraptor." Logan said

"I study about them whenever I can. This definitely is a bone from it's back bone." Finley said looking at the familia piece of bone

"Great. We found something undiscovered I suppose. We can go back now right?" Emma asked Logan

"I guess" Logan replied taking the bone from Finley to examine the small cracks on it

"You guys wait." Finley said

"What is it now?" Emma asked and turned to the boy

"Look" Finley pointed up ahead of them.

The others turned to see a small cave it's entrance just big enough for someone to crawl in. It was partially covered in grass which is why the other didn't spot it before

"I did not expect that" Logan said. He put the bone in his bag

"Come on, let's go check it out" Finley said

"Are you crazy?" Noah and Emma said at same time

"Anything could be in there. This is just playing dangerous" Noah said

"I laugh at the face of danger" Logan said and together with Finley, headed towards the cave.

"Those two are officially crazy" Noah said

"Let's go after them" Emma said

"What? No." Noah said

"We can't go back without them. Besides, they could really get hurt in there" Emma said and went after Finley and Logan

"They should have thought of that before going in" Noah said under his breath and followed after Emma

Soon enough, the four were outside the mouth of the cave. Logan pushed the grass away and they looked inside

It was dark inside and they couldn't see much

"We can still turn back" Noah said nervously

"I'll go in first" Logan said and got down on all four. He crawled his way into the cave

"Is he crazy?" Noah said

"Are you scared?" Finley asked already crawling into the cave

Emma looked at Noah and shrug. She went into the cave next. Noah sighed and followed after her.

General Vendicom tap rapidly on a keyboard connected to a screen on the wall.

He growled when the image of the red ranger came up on the screen

"What's he doing in the jungle?" He asked himself. He quickly did a general scan of the area and his scanner picked up a faint energy signature

"Hmm" he walked to the throne where Lord Vendox was sitting. Lady Vellvin was in her room

"My Lord. I might have found something that might interest you" He said

"Well what is it? Bring it up on the screen" Lord Vendox commanded.

General Vendico turned on the monitor screen

"I spotted the red ranger in the jungle and there is a faint energy reading coming from a cave close to where he was spotted" he said

Lord Vendox watch the Ethan look at his morpher and kept moving forward

"Whatever is in that cave must be important for him to go after it. It must be a dinogem or a zord" Lord Vendox said

"Send down an alien. The red ranger is smart. It would be weird if he has a very safe trip now won't it"

"Of course My Lord. I'll send down an alien" came General Vendicom reply as he bow and left for the aliens chamber

Logan, Finley, Noah and Emma crawled till they got to the center of the cave. It was a bit bright. They got up and got out their phones using it's flashlights to look around

"Won't you know it. More dinosaurs fossils" Emma said looking around. There where dinosaur bones scattered all over the ground but what really caught the teens attention were the four dinosaur fossils leaning on the walls of the cave all bones in place

"Cool" Noah and Finley said at same time

"Whom knew a Parasaur would look so small without all it's flesh and muscles" Logan said examining the bones of his favorite dinosaur; the Parasaur

He moved his life light from it's tail to it's head and stopped. A small glow catch his attention. Looking closer, he saw a black crystal stuck it the dinosaur head

"Woo" he said and carefully picked it out. He examine the stone moving his fingers across it's rough surface

"Weird right?" Emma asked looking at the yellow stone stuck in the head of her favorite dinosaur, the triceratops

"You found one too?" Logan asked

"Yes. Yellow" Emma said picking out the stone and held it out to Logan

"Hey, look what I found in the Velociraptor fossil" Finley said walking up to Logan and Emma. He stopped when he saw the black and yellow stones

"Green too" Noah said looking at Finley's. He turned to Noah

"Hey, did you find a stone too?" He asked

Noah picked a bone from the ground

"Yep. But I didn't take it. You shouldn't touch things you don't know anything about" he said to the other three

Emma opened her mouth to say something but stopped when the cave shook violently

The teens fell on the ground.

After a few seconds, the rumble dropped and everything quite up. The guys got up and Finley helped Emma up

"See what I mean?!" Noah said

The cave began to shake again

"Just grab the damn stone and let's get out of here" Logan said and Emma began to crawl back out of the cave

Noah had second thoughts but still picked out the blue stone from the stegosaur fossil

Finley went next and Noah followed after him. Logan picked a random bone before crawling out of the cave

Once all four teens were out in the open, the cave disappeared in a flash of white light leaving the spot where it once stood bare and the teenagers stunned

"Did the cave just disappear?" Finley asked not believing his eyes

Logan looked down at the bone he was holding thankful it didn't disappear along with the cave

"Let's get out of here before something more unbelievable happen" He said putting the bone in his bag

"Yeah" Emma and Noah said

"Right behind you" Finley said

The teens have hardly gone half way through their return journey when something landed behind them causing a strong wind to blow pass them

The four froze then slowly and carefully, they turned to meet what might just as well be their worst nightmare

I hate to leave with a cliffhanger but I think this chapter is already too long
