Chapter-35: Hagoromo's dilemma!

On the clouds, a figure invisible to the world was floating around while immersed in deep thoughts about something or rather...someone.

He was a tall and pale-skinned man, who had deep wrinkles and a strong jawline and was in his elderly age. He had spiky, shoulder-length, pale brown hair, with a chin-length, braided lock hanging in front of his left ear. He also sported a goatee, which tapered down to his waist. Hr also had a pair of horn-like protrusions extending from either side of his forehead and a red Rinnegan-like marking in the centre of his forehead.

He wore a white, full-length kimono with a pattern of six black magatama around a high collar, beneath which, he wore a necklace which was also made up of six black magatama. On the back of his kimono was a larger, black Rinnegan marking with a pattern of nine magatama arranged in three rows of three beneath it.

This was Sage of the six paths himself, Otsutsuki Hagoromo.

He was wondering about the boy called Uzumaki Naruto, the boy Gamamaru had prophesied to bring peace to shinobi world.

While doing his mundane job as the guardian of the shinobi world, he had found that his son's reincarnation was acting extremely weird.

Ashura's reincarnation was acting more and more like Indra's reincarnation.

He decided to investigate the case but found nothing at all...

First he was confused about it.

Did someone intentionally mess up Ashura's chakra? Was Ashura's chakra dying so it only had the strength and not the will?

So many questions unanswered but he wanted to find answers to them.

So he stalked the blonde haired boy, ignoring the rest of the world for the moment. He was his son's incarnation, after all.

Ashura was important to deal with Indra, otherwise Indra's reincarnation will only create chaos in shinobi world.

But what he observed was...strange.

Sometimes the boy acted like a child with unlimited energy and ran around everywhere, just acting like Ashura in his childhood but in private and under no one's sight....his demeanor changed completely and he acted extremely calmly and was extremely logical, doing everything with precision to the point, as if he was Indra.

Suddenly one day, the boy was under danger.

Nothing special was going on but while the boy was sleeping, his other son, Kurama started acting up and tried coming out of the seal.

This was bad as the prophecy clearly told that the blue eyed blonde boy will bring peace to the world and unite the tailed beast.

His demeanor was extremely erratic but he showed all the characteristics in a leader. Being unfazed even in this situation not showing any weakness at all, extreme confidence and methodological approach to nearly everything, planning each and every action, amazing charisma...

So, Hagoromo was forced to act.

For the peace of the world as well as his own's son's incarnation's life, he resealed the Kyuubi.

He kept on watching what would happen after that...

After a few years, the boy had become a shinobi and left for doing a mission, in land of waves.

Hagoromo was keeping a watch on him at the time.

His strength to overpowering his enemies while planning intricately was amazing to watch. An extremely rare talent he saw in previous generation's Indra, though the method of fighting was different altogether.

But he witnessed something extremely unsettling after that...

That boy, went ahead and killed the enemy ninja by hiding on his body through a shadow clone on henge... That was fine...

These sorts of conflicts cannot be solved with words.

But he...he manipulated that man's student into thinking he was his father, using an extremely hidden jutsu that would transfer his soul into the blonde's body.

Hagoromo knew this was entirely bullsh*t and but somehow the student accepted him, without any hidden malice at all, his intentions and thinking as pure and untainted as a snow...

He asked that student (Haku) to hunt down a man while he left was going to take care of other things...

But the boy went ahead and poisoned his own teacher to harvest the mangekyo sharingan out of his body.

This was extremely unsettling for Hagoromo. He never thought that someone like this would bring peace to the world but he kept quiet for now. He was a staunch believer that his ways were ultimately correct, that went through proper verifications through the course of history as well...

But then that boy used some undecipherable fuinjutsu to enslave people in land of waves.

This enraged Hagoromo even more but he was a peaceful fellow who didn't interfere with the world, so he went to Gamamaru to consult him on this topic but it was the same answer he got every time he went to him.

"The future changes constantly but only thing constant is that boy bringing peace."

He was still suspicious and decided to act if this wasn't creating any peace and brought destruction only...he will wipe him away from the face of this world.

Hours turned into days, Days turned into months and land of waves was now flourishing.

No children were sleeping on the street and starving, everyone was working happily, the elderly being taken care of as well...

Everyone was happy.

It was the status he achieved through the course of years in his prime but that boy had done it in a few days.

Added to that, everyone was receiving proper healthcare and education as well, something he couldn't do in his own era.

Hagoromo was now going through an existential crisis.

His beliefs and method of doing things was shaken a lot and he began to question himself...

He first thought that it was related to the fuinjutsu but after deciphering it for a lot of time, he concluded it was some form of obedience seal that would force someone to believe something, nothing more. It cannot create emotions like happiness, joy or anything.

Was he right or was the boy right?

Whose methods were better?

He arrived at the conclusion that both methods were valid however, regardless of anything, that boy's method were undoubtedly twisted yet extremely efficient.

He decided to keep mum for now...He believed that that blonde boy with blue eyes will bring peace and his success, albeit at a smaller level, was a testament to his abilities.

He will just watch for now.

It looked like the torch of peace keeping must be passed on to the next generation and some trust is required.

Even he cannot be there for the peace forever.

His chakra will eventually run out as well.
