Chapter 11

After a an hour or so, the eight students' that were punished joined the others on the second exercise.

They were now much more docile, keeping quiet, commanding their Pokemons to use their move on boulders.

Jin Skyson and the other seven vented their frustrated minds on their respective boulders. Clearly annoyed by how they were treated.

Him and the seven other students held a strong background, they couldn't wait when the pokemon training activity would finish. Beacuse when it will, they would immediately go to their parents and complain on how they were being treated so harshly.

Ross noticed their bearing, smiling at how cute they looked in his eyes. 'My students this time sure are adorable.' He thought.

He immediately disregarded them, not minding them as if they weren't worth his attention. They could weep and complain to their parents, I don't care.

His focus were directed to a young man, having light-blue hair and green-dark eyes. Wearing a black training outfit with gray stripe designs on the four limbs. He was also paying his attention on the girl beside him who was with a Ralts.

They were commanding their Pokemons and were very focused on their task.

They weren't lazying and were really taking the exercise very seriously. He also was paying attention to other students that had caught his eyes. But they couldn't compare to this two.

'Caleb Laurent and Diantha Carnotion... Both Pokemons with light-green potential, not to mention it being such rare species: A Magby and a Ralts.'

(A/N: I changed the potential grades a little. A lighter shade of color signified a pokemon possessing a higher potential than a dark or normal grade one. Ex. Dark-Red, Normal-Red, Light-Red, Dark-Orange and etc.)

He knew all this stuff since he got all this information from the Department of Administration and Services. Students needed to fill-up their forms that has details regarding not just their names, but also include their pokemons and their potential before being enrolled. Which is why Ross was able to know the student's name earlier.

He was committed to his job, as was seen on how he already memorized the names and other informations of his students. He is strict, yes. That's only natural if he wanted his students to take him seriously.

...

Caleb glanced at his boulder that was at the size of a meter and a half. He smiled bitterly as he saw a wheel sized scorched mark on it.

Magby was also glaring at it frustratedly, he clenched his fist and it was as if his mood has an affect of the temperature around him, it suddenly rose.

The other students near him including Diantha looked at them, surprised.

Magby growled as he once again throw embers on the surface of the boulder.

When the flames made contact on the boulder, it exploded. Smokes engulfed the rock and after the smokes dissipate, the rock still has the same sized schorched mark on it.

Couldn't help it, Magby roared as he run towards the boulder and began to vent by punching and kicking on it.

The boulder shook and moved little by little backwards by the force of Magby's rage.

"Hey, you! Control your pokemon." Caleb who was dazed seeing Magby suddenly acting like this immediately regained his focus when he was reprimanded by Ross loudly.

"Magby, calm down." Magby wasn't listening as he kept on punching the boulder. Seeing this Caleb walked towards him calmly.

"Caleb!" Diantha worriedly called out. Magby wasn't very approachable seeing how it's eyes were full of anger.

"Laurent, your Magby looks very frustrated right now. Don't go near, it's dangerous." Eusine and his Drowzee approached near his friend, advicing Caleb lightly while patting his shoulder.

Caleb removed Eusine's hand on his shoulder, not paying attention to them as he continued on walking towards Magby, he was currently very near him. "You guys don't need to worry. Magby just needed some patting on his ugly head. He normally is very lazy, seeing him act like this for the first time since I watched him hatch really surprised me."

Caleb didn't take it seriously. He even throw some jokes while chuckling.

He stopped behind Magby. "Hey bud, how about we stop for a while and rest, what do you say?"

Magby turned around hearing his voice. Caleb's eyebrows rose when Magby glared at him with his eyes that were blazing with frustration.

However, this didn't make Caleb back down. He smiled and reached out his hand. "Don't be like that. Come I'll give you your favorite berries if you listen."

"Let's train more frequently starting today to work on the power output of your Ember attack. Let's work hard and make you learn flamethrower, it isn't like it is our first time seeing how your Ember is. I believe that you will eventually improve on it, heck I bet that in the future you can destroy boulders with just your Ember. So calm down first and then let's look on how to adjust so we can make your fire stronger."

Caleb enthusiastically went on his words as he clenched his reached out hand for a fist bump.

Eyes full of expectations met eyes full of anger.

Eventually, as Magby listentened to his trainer he gradually calms down. The temperature also dropped a little. He responded to Caleb's fist with his own.

*pak!*

"That's more like it, bud." Caleb smiled cheerfully. No joke he felt very nervous inside, but knowing Magby and being the one who was there when he had hatched. Caleb knew that Magby would calm down by his words, consolation was all he needed.

He was his trainer, friend and brother. They felt connected that the majority of trainers' and it's pokemon didn't possess even though they had just encountered each other.

They walked a little father from the boulder under the watchful gazes of the students and instructor.

Instructor Ross once again commended Caleb in his mind when he saw how he had calmed down his pokemon.

The students who were expecting a scene were left disappointed that nothing happened. Diantha, Eusine and a few of their classmates who were friendly with Caleb sighed in relief.

"Hey, don't look so sad buddy. Like I said let's practice and results will eventually bore fruit from training. You are already doing good." Caleb smiled as he patted his Magby on his head seeing it being depressed, Magby had just realized that his temper got the best of him. He looked towards Caleb and apologized.

"Magby. Mag. Magby."

"Don't sweat it. We are bros, and bros always are there for each other." Caleb grinned as he walked forward.

Looking at Caleb's back Magby was dazed. He kept looking at his back until he felt happy, happy because of how Caleb treated him so dearly.

Suddenly, he jumped and reached out his hand towards Caleb's back. He didn't push Caleb he just lightly tapped his back.

However, before his hand made contact with the fabric of his clothes, inside Caleb's mind a type of connection with a foreign hot aura invaded his soul.

Caleb sweated on the surface even though it was his soul that was feeling the heat. Additionally, inside his mind an object that was overshadowed by the darkness exploded, luminously lighting up the original dark landscape.

"Caleb, what's wrong? Huh? Magby!? Yow!!"

"Instructor!!"

"Weavile come out! Go to the nur..."

This was all Caleb heared before he passed out, on his side was Magby who was laying beside him. What was alarming was Caleb who is bleeding on his eyes, nose and ears!

(A/N: hehehehehe can anyone guess what happened to Caleb? If anyone could guess it correctly, I'll send him/her 5 extra chapters via email. Time limit: before I'll update the next chapter.)
