Chapter 13 - Promotion Battles (3)

When Noah entered the Battlefield he could still Trent and the previous examiner still on the field.

"I didn't expect to see you promoting today," Trent said as he walked up to Noah to shake his hand.

"I could say the same for you, President," Noah said as shook his hand

The trainer school was like a Highschool in some ways there are many clubs you can join. One of those was the Hunting Club in which Noah was in and Trent was the president. To Noah, Trent can be considered a prideful person, but also a hard worker to the extreme he doesn't let anyone outwork him if it wasn't for school he would be another Rebecca.

"Well, good luck" Trent says leaving with the examiner.

Noah walked up to the stage ready for battle.

"Hi we're just waiting for your examiner oh there he goes," the ref said pointing to the opposite door from where Noah came from.

Noah looked at walked at door with surprise and worry in his eyes. The person was a tall built dark skin young man with short black hair he had Hazel eyes with a gold earring on his right ear. It was Hugo Links.

"It's good to see you again Noah," Hugo said stepping onto the stage.

"I didn't expect to see you here captain did you graduate early or something," Noah said

"Well, you could say I'm going to be one of the two-star examiners over the summer to take a year off of my required 4" Answered Hugo.

"This is going to be a tough match for him," Blake said.

"Who expect that the examiner would be Hugo," Zack said.

"Did yall offend anybody in the NAU?" Rebecca asked.

"Who could we offend," Adam said laughing off the matter.

My dad was laughing but I knew he was worried who didn't know about Hugo Links he was the youngest person to become a 3-star trainer in the district before Trent beat his record today. There is even a rumor that he is a disciple one the master trainer of the NAU.

"It looks like he going to be crushed by Hugo instead," Mark said

"I warned him not to promote so easily," Jack said sarcastically.

" This will be a one-on-one battle no switches first pokemon knocked out loses do you both understand, " Ref said.

Both Hugo and Noah nodded while staring at each other.

"Begin," Ref said.

" Zangoose get ready for combat," Noah said releasing him.

A red & brown pig-like pokemon standing on two appeared.

"Zangoose Sword Dance"

"Pignite Work Up"

Both pokemon started charging up waiting for their trainer's next order.

Noah and Hugo looked at each other waiting for one to make the first move

" Zangoose run around it and use double team" Zangoose runs around Pignite.

That one Zangoose turned into ten running around Pignite

" Pignite stand your ground"

Hugo was calm he looked like a seasoned warrior who had seen this too many times.

"Zangoose Crush Claw" energy wrapped around Zangoose claws as it approached Pignite.

"Pignite close your eyes and use your ears to find the real one and use Sucker Punch".

Right when Zangoose was about to hit Pignite sidestep and uses Sucker Punch.

"Zangoose use it as a step stool and fling yourself up"Zangoose used its tail to hop on Pignite arm and shot itself in the air.

"Zangoose Aerial Ace" Zangoose who was piing in the air started to dive down at high speeds

"Pignite meets it head Head Smash " Pignite's head started glow meeting Zangoose Claw.

"Boom!" Zangoose went flying back but it landed on its feet.

Noah saw that Zangoose left claw was shattered.

"Zangoose don't worry it will grow back stronger" at least his arm is not broken' Noah thought

Unlike like Noah Zangoose the Pignite was perfectly fine.

"Pignite Flame Crash" Pignite charged at Zangoose with flames surrounding its body.

"Zangoose Payback" Zangoose wrapped it self in dark-type energy Putting it right claw in front and charging at Pignite.

Both Pokemon clash again, but this time it was Pignite sliding back with a scracth on its stimach. Zangoose wasn't fine either some of it fur was burned.

"Zangoose Poison Jab Your Self" Zangoose right claw was wrapped in purple energy as stabbed himself.

Zangoose started eyes started to turn even redder he had bloodthirsty smile on and was ready for battle.

"Pignite Swagger let's make this into Brawls"

Once Pignite used Swagger Zangoose rushed at it with its right claws covered with purple energy.

"Zangoose if it's a brawl he wants it one he going to get"

"Zangooose!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Zangoose growled

Both pokemon clashed again and again causing shockwaves.

"Pignite another Fire Punch"

" Zangoose Poison Jab "

They kept hitting each other again neither pokemon refusing to give up. Zangoose is Fast and flexible able to get more hits, but Pignite is durable and strong when hits land it dealt a powerful blow.

Both Pokemon were exhausted and were on their last legs. Both trainers knew that their pokemon couldn't take anymore,

"How about it one more move," Hugo said with a crazed smile on his face.

"Then so be it" Noah's green eyes were glowing like beast ready to finish it pray

"Pignite Fire Punch" Pignite hand was wrapped in flames bigger than before it looked like he was holding the sun in its hands.

"Zangoose Hidden Power" Zangoose right claw glowed then water extend from it like a geyser.

"GOOOOOOO" Noah and Hugo Yellled

"Zangooose"

"Pignite"

As both Pokemon clashed for the final time steam was released covering the entire field making it look like a sauna. Nobody could see anything it was they were clouds in the room.

Once the room was cleared everyone stared at the battlefield in shock. Pignite was on the ground not moving at all Zangoose right claw was crushed but he was still standing.

"Pignite is unable to battle the winner is Noah Sabre" the ref announced

As soon as the ref announced the winner Noah and Hugo grabbed their pokemon and rushed to the med bay.

The crowd went crazy the yelling and clapping were so loud even this private my eardrums felt like they would burst.

"Is Zangoose going to be okay?" Jade said worriedly.

I wanted He'll we be fine, but I couldn't I don't know how healing work here after all in the game you just go to the Pokemon Center and hand them the ball.

"Zangoose we'll be fine after all we are in the NAU the best doctors in the district are here" said Rebecca

"Adam you have really good son one day he will definitely rise up," Travis said

"Noah in a month I will also Advance I can't wait to battle you then," Zack said

Most people think that my brother won by luck, but that is not true. He had plan no matter what the situation he would get what he wanted and thats exactly what happen he wanted a brawl, so he could use hidden power at the last minute to defeat Hugo.I wondered how I'm going to beat him in the future.

"It looks like you are going to need to train even more," Jim said

Jack looked at his father and couldn't speak after all this father of his probably already knew what he going to do.

"What a battle I can't wait to be like that someday," Mark said

Jack looked at mark and slapped the back of his head.

"Ouch What was that for" Mark yelled.

"Shut up" Jack yelled even louder.

Both Noah and Hugo were pacing in front of a door with worried expressions. A nurse walks out.

"Hugo Links and Noah Sabre both pokemon will a full recovery and will be ready to pick up tomorrow morning but they won't be able to fight for at least a week". the nurse said.

After the nurse left Noah Looked at Hugo and said: " I didn't win that fight it was a tie the ref didn't see it but my Zangoose was knocked out".

"Ha ha, so what at least your pokemon was still standing I can't wait for our next battle" Hugo said sticking his hand out for a handshake.

"Me too," Noah said shaking his hand.

"Hugo is it can you give me some time with Noah please" a sweet voice said.

Hugo looked behind him and was shocked to see who it was.
