Chapter 28: Energy Stone

Arriving in the cave, Soul didn't think too much of it as he had already been in several caves, so it didn't make him that excited.

As he walked further into the cave, he heard something. It sounded like human speech. Deciding to investigate it, he tried to not make as much sound as possible.

As he was getting closer, the sound became clearer as he could hear that it was someone who talked about some stone. More surprisingly, it was actually Team Magma, Team Aqua, and Shadow League grunts that are here.

Soul: 'I don't know about this, but it seemed fishy to me.'

Deciding to listen to their conversation, Soul hid behind a rock while the grunts continued their conversation without knowing he was there.

Team Magma Grunt: Hey, are you sure it's here?

Team Aqua Grunt: Yeah, I don't know why your leader is so obsessed to find these 'Energy Stone' or whatever you call them.

Shadow League Grunt: Don't question our leader! If you don't want to piss off your bosses, including mine. Just keep on finding the stone, and remember, it looks like a rainbow crystal. If you idiot can't remember it, here's a picture of it.

Peeking out of the rock, Soul could see a familiar stone that he got in Route 105, and Granite Cave. It was exactly the same stone, it seems like there one here. Also, how did Shadow League came to know about it?

Shaking his head, Soul did a little brainstorm, as he thought about all of the possible things that he can do right now.

He could go search for the stone and take it for himself. It may seem selfish, but hey, its better than having it on the hand of the group who made Pokemon into a mindless puppet.

As for Team Magma and Aqua… It seems like they are working with Shadow League, but still held grudges with each other.

He never understood them in the first place, right when he started playing the game and meet them. They fought against each other because they wanted to prove that rock or water is best?

Now that he has think about it… Since they have already come to know about the stone and would go after it, they might already know about its value. Doesn't it mean that they have some in their base?

Letting out a little smirk, Soul took out the Compass of Greed to find the stone with the help of it.

The compass needle started to move around before landing in a direction. Following the direction, Soul walked through the hallway that the previous grunts had left and followed the needle.

Reaching the end of the tunnel, he could hear the sound of machinery works, people's voice, and much more.

Taking another peek, he could see a mining site that was digging up rocks. Looking at his compass, he could see that it was pointing at where the mining machine was doing its work with a guy controlling it. There were also some Pokemon that are helping, most of them were Rock, Ground, Steel, and Fighting-Type.

Letting out a sigh, he decided to wait for them to find the stone before snatching them away from their very eyes. After that, a little 'fight' would occur.

Of course, he didn't know how long he had to wait, so he decided to find any useful information that he could use to his advantage.

Still, with invisibility, Soul sneakily moved around the place without anyone noticing. Most of them were working and were tired.

Team Magma Grunt: Damn, this is hard, I didn't sign up for this!

Team Aqua Grunt: Oh, shut up! Your faction fights for rock and now you complaining about it? We're basically searching for rocks! You should be happy about it, as, for me, I've preferred to be close to water.

Team Magma Grunt: Shut your mouth fish face! Unlike you, we actually have the skill to archive our goal. I heard that some of your team went rogue and got captured by the police, hmph?

Team Aqua Grunt: You!

Shadow League Grunt: Can you both please shut up! I'm trying to work here!

Soul: 'Useless information, but a new target.'

Looking at where one of the Shadow League members yelled from, Soul could see a tower that seemed to be protected as several guards could be seen guarding it.

Using Gravitation Orbs to defy gravity within himself and with a jump, he floated towards the tower.

The tower looked like a lookout tower. He went to where the door is and knocked on it three times before moving to the side as the door got opened by one of Shadow League members.

Shadow League Grunt: Is this a prank?

Shadow League Grunt 2: I think it is, now gets back to work!

Shadow League Grunt: Alright jeez, you don't have to yell at me like that.

Just before the door was closed, Soul quickly steps in the room as he saw several control panels with only three workers here.

He took out a Pokemon and secretly called for Alakazam while telling him what to do. The sound of a Pokemon coming out of a Poke Ball was clear to them as all of them looked behind only to see nothing.

Shadow League Grunt: Guess it was nothing.

This was due to them being in Alakazam Hypnosis. They all went back to work as if nothing happened as Soul started to hack the database inside the control panel.

When he finished hacking, several data could be seen, but he only chose to look at the data that was called 'Energy Stone Project'.

Several pieces of information showed up once again as Soul speed reading all of it before transferring the rest of the data into a USB-stick.

Soul: 'So they planned to use this, 'Energy Stone' to increase their Pokemon strength, including Project S.L. It seems like they don't have very high success with it though.'

With this information, he patiently waited for the stone to be found and spent his time to learn more about Shadow League.
