Alex's hell

A few hours later, I regained consciousness and could hear the sound of my heavy breathing. I had barely managed to survive that ordeal. "System, how is it?" I asked, seeking reassurance.

"You can rest now, Alex," the system replied, offering me some much-needed relief. Exhausted, I immediately passed out.

Unknown POV

"He survived? Go check on him and give me a report in my office," I instructed the person standing on my left. Turning to another person near me, I asked, "Did you record everything?"

"Yes, sir," he replied, his voice tinged with fear, afraid he might be the next target.

"Give it to me," I commanded, walking towards my office. Once inside, I looked at the photo in my possession and thought to myself, "Soon, we will meet again."

A day later

Alex's POV

As I woke up, a sharp pain surged through my chest. Placing a hand over my heart, I slowly got up from the bed and asked the system, "How long was I out, and how did it go?"

"It's been a day, host, and you should check your status," the system responded.

Curious, I pondered my status as it opened before me.

When I finished reviewing my status, the boss entered the room.

Alex could be seen standing there, wearing only pants. Scars covered his entire body, each inflicted by a special weapon capable of nullifying his restoration powers. Every time he attempted to escape, they would add more scars, causing intense pain to discourage any further attempts.

Alex was currently engaged in a fight against a robot. As he emerged victorious, the boss appeared.

"Starting tomorrow, you will receive the Guardians' power. Prepare yourself, for it will be unlike anything you have ever experienced before," he ominously informed me before departing.

"System, show me my status," I commanded, eager to see how I had developed.
