Bug Town Gym

Scyther bounced off the translucent barrier of Protect and hit the ground while Heracross steadied himself on the ground. Blue smiled.

"Now Megahorn!" Blue ordered.

Heracross's horn glowed in a bright light as the Pokemon rushed forward, ready to impale Scyther and win the battle but Scyther steadied itself once again, spreading it's wings at optimal length and then... smirked?

"Aerial Ace!" Red ordered.

Scyther vanished into thin air and Mega Horn connected with nothing... Scyther appeared behind Heracross with it's scythes in a V-sign and in the next moment, slashing sounds were heard as Heracross was slashed in two sides, blood pouring out extensively from it's wounds.

Blue's excited face suddenly faded as he returned Heracross, his eyes dimming.

"Yo Blue, Even if you capture a Rare bug, It's not enough to stop a WELL-TRAINED Scyther!" Red voiced out, much to Blue's annoyance.

Blue scoffed.

"You only got lucky in this round, Ketchum," Blue said with an evident frown.

"Keep telling yourself that, Oak," Red said and turned around, his hand motioning to Yellow who happily skipped down to him, After returning Scyther, The two of them walked away.

The Pokemon Center in Bug town wasn't like the Pokemon center in other cities, It still had that roof made of Bark tree and it was a lot shorter but it was a Pokemon Center nevertheless and Red planned make full use of it's services.

He walked in with Yellow who was hugging her egg with utmost care and compassion, Red had long since transferred his Pokemon for a short rest at Pallet town, They had tried hard and worked themselves so for a bit of a week, They would have a break to rest their bones.

Red's eyes slowly turned to the Nurse as they faced each other and he handed her a Pokeball, The Nurse here wasn't from the Joy family, there was no doubt about that, No she seemed to be from the Bugg family and she was every bit as sexy as she was supposed to be.

"Do you need to check that egg too?" She asked, her eyes landing on Yellow's egg.

"No," Red replied, waving her suggestion off.

They walked out of the Pokemon Center, their Pokemon fully rejuvenated and Red stretched. His eyes were going in the direction of the gym but the fact that the gym leader's Pokemon were unknown to the Challengers made it all that harder to plan.

If it was a Pinsir, Scyther had it in the bag. If it was a Heracross, Scyther had it in the bag. If it was a Butterfree, Scyther had it in the bag. If it was even a Beedrill, Scyther had it in the bag.

There were so many bug Pokemon that Scyther had beat, although Red wasn't so sure if Scyther would be able to beat one of it's kind but he had to try right?

"Where do you think we should go first?" Yellow asked, her meek voice pushing Red out of his thoughts.

"To the gym," Red replied. His eyes unwavering to the cause of his visit here, To battle the Bug town gym.

Blue apparently was in the same boat as him, They had no gym badges to show for their hardwork although Red was sure that Blue was purposely using TMs to grow stronger but what the hell... His eyes were set.

"Are you sure you don't want to sew some clothes for the Bugg festival?" Yellow asked.

"Yeah, I'm sure. We can do that, After I win against the gym leader," Red replied as he pushed back his hat and smiled, "With Scyther, It'll be a piece of cake,"

"Don't be so sure about that, Kid," The woman in the black hood muttered to herself as she headed in the direction of the gym.

Like every teenager and beginning trainer overestimates his/herself when they get powerful Pokemon, Red was the same. He looked at the typing of Scyther, A dual Bug and Flying Pokemon and the strength of his Scyther which was at LV. 19, a step away from LV. 20 and saw his win was inevitable.

The Bug town gym was constructed out of Bark wood making it sleek and neat, hanging off the walls of the outer gym were Metapod, about 30 of them, All well taken care of.

As Red and Yellow walked in, Their eyes landed on the receptionist's room where the Challenger would get his/her license checked before battling against the gym leader.

The receptionist was a lady with bright green hair and dark toned skin, Her green emeralds shone as she dressed in a regular Receptionist's wear.

"I want to battle the gym leader of Bug town," Red said, his voice laced with conviction.

He came here to win and he wouldn't accept anything less, As long as the gym leader didn't pull out stupid stunts, He wouldn't need to worry as long as Scyther was there.

The receptionist took his ID and scanned it on the scanner, A name flashed on the screen.

"You're Red Ketchum from Pallet town?" She asked, just to be sure.

"Yes, Ma'am," Red said while taking hold of his ID again and pushing open the door to the gym.

"Goodluck!"

Red stood in the arena and Yellow was in the stands, Her eyes glued to the arena below. It was made out of processed bark wood and carved in a Pokeball symbol.

Suddenly the other door opened and revealed a woman in a black hood.

"So are you the gym leader?" Red asked, unclipping Scyther's Pokeball from his waist.

"Yes, I am Olivia..." She said while throwing her hood into the air, revealing her face and clothes, "Bugg,"

'Dramatic much?' Red questioned inwardly.

The woman was seemingly as old as Daisy and Laura but she was dark skinned and had shoulder length black hair and green eyes... like the receptionist.

"And you, Red Ketchum, are my next challenger," Olivia declared as the lights in the ceiling lit up, much to Yellow and Red's shock.
