Not long after, our sleeping beauty also woke up from his nap. Groggily, Vioarr looked around trying to find his trainer only to see him sitting in the lotus position. He knew not to disturb Jax when he entered a trance because while psychic abilities are powerful, their mind is just as fragile. A slight disturbance could cause massive damage to their brain resulting in disastrous repercussions. With nothing else to do, Vioarr concentrated on his own training. By repeatedly using his moves over and over again, he became more familiar with them and understood not just how they worked but the essence within them and how to use them more effectively and creatively in battle.
Some time later, the two ended their training at the same time not through coincidence but because they both felt the tremors return. It looks like the two Metagross's were back! Looking at each other, they came to a complicit understanding that they shouldn't make any noise. Although the lock mechanism was in place, that was more of a deterrent from human invaders. Who's to stop a half-ton tank from just breaking the wall and entering their haven? Unfortunately, as the time progress, the tremors grew closer than ever instead of going back towards the cave with the vegetation.
'Shit! Don't tell me they know we're here!? There's no way! This place doesn't look like it's been touched in years! I doubt the Metagrosses even know this place exist. Let's just pray they're only walking past by coincidence.' Jax didn't dare move a muscle as he sat in his lotus position. After sitting for so long in the same spot without moving, his legs were beginning to cramp up, but he refused to die because he couldn't handle a minor muscle pain.
"A-a-achoo!"
Swirling his head, Jax looked Vioarr dead in the eyes. Look would be an understatement. If looks could kill, Vioarr would have begged to be Metagross's snack instead of being on the end of Jax's piercing stare.
"Sigh. What's done is done. We had to fight them eventually. Don't worry, Buddy. I won't blame you even as I make my way to hell."
Turning to face the door, Jax stood up and waited patiently to meet the cause of his death. By his side was the first pokemon who by stroke of luck, he was able to call his little brother. Even if the chances are close to zero, the two would rather fight side-by-side than accept their deaths groveling on the floor! Just as Jax and Vioarr steeled their hearts for the inevitable, a surprising thing happened. The Metagrosses didn't just run through the door, the door was beginning to lift again.
"Huh? Are they actually my long-lost siblings I didn't know about? First, I get a Nidorino for a little brother and now I even get two older Metagross siblings?" Jax was very confused as to why the door was opening instead of the two powerhouses just storming the place. The cave was a dead end no matter how one looks at it. It would have been easy work if they just made the whole thing fall own atop its current residents.
As the door fully lifted, two giant creatures walked through into the interior of the cave. Haven't been used in years, quite a bit of dust had gathered so when the door lifted, all the dust particles flew into the air. Coughing and waving his hands around, Jax tried to brush away all the dust so that he could at least see the reason he was about to meet Kami-sama again. Once the dust cleared, Jax opened his eyes in utter shock which quickly started to moist as tears threaten to pour out.
"MOMMY!?" Saying so, Jax ran off to go hug the human woman who he thought he would never see again. Why was Jax's mother here? We'll have to go back in time for a bit from when the trio entered the cave.
"Ugh. Is everyone okay? I don't remember the fall being this far. Arcanine, did you injure yourself?"
"Grr."
With a grr from Arcanine, Doria sighed in relief as it didn't seem her life-long partner was injured. She then turned to look at Nidoking only to find him walking off already. 'Guess he was fine too. How nice of him to check up on everyone.' If someone could read her mind, they would have picked on the sarcasm that was laid on thick. Besides being anxious and worried about the situation her son was in, Doria did not like being back down here. It wasn't that Doria was afraid of getting a little dirty, she just didn't want to be back in the same place she fell in love with her husband. Thinking about him now just made her already sour mood turn worse. If she ever finds him again, she vowed to cook him her best dish, soupe de Vioarr.
Nidoking feeling a rather dark vibe coming from behind quickly made his way towards one of the tunnels. Noticing the deep X indent by its side, he noted that the next closest tunnel had the exact same indent. Turning towards the last tunnel, he saw no X by its entrance which means whoever left the previous two X's either went down the tunnel and had not come back yet, or they didn't go down the tunnel and left the same way they all entered. Knowing that Vioarr and his friend had no flying capabilities yet, and seeing no holes indicating that they used Dig to make their own way out, the only conclusion was that his son and the human boy went down that path and had yet to return. Trusting in his gut instincts which got him all the way to becoming a king of a vast forest, Nidoking set off down the last tunnel.
"Hey, wait for me! We don't know what kind of situation they got themselves into! It's better if we stick together!" Running after Nidoking, Arcanine and Doria prepared themselves for battle. Who knows what would be waiting for them at the end of this tunnel? 'I pray that my son and Vioarr will still be safe by the time I reach them; however, if I find out that even a piece of his hair was injured, I will raze this cave down to the ground no matter how many fond memories I had here!' With a silent vow, Doria picked up her pace, her face hardening for the inevitable. Our warrior queen was back to the days from when she reigned supreme and not even her battle junkie husband dared pick a fight with her!
