Chapter - 7, Battle at the Rock Field

Both Misty and Brock were laughing and saying Ash's name and jumping up and down while hugging each other and celebrating their friends win.

While Delia had a small tear, and a big smile on her face. And her eyes showed how proud she was of ash and his hard work and clicking pictures of her sons battle and his newly evolved Pokémon.

In the grass field –

Gary: so ashy boy also won his 2nd round of battle, well looks like I have some catching up to do….

Ash POV –

After the battle, I went to the Pokémon centre and gave nurse Joy, my Pokémon and also chose my 3rd field I would battle in and the 3rd field I gotten was the Rock field and my match was around 11:00AM tomorrow. I began to think which 3 Pokémon, I should choose. While I was out, Misty and Brock both came out of no where and hugged me, we had a laugh and misty complained about me having so many beautiful water Pokémon and me and Brock just rolled our eyes at her antics. I also met mom, and she showed me the pictures she took during my match and I have to say, they look very good and I asked if she could frame a picture of each of my Pokémon in my room and she told me she plan to do that, while that was going on something caught my attention it was the battle in the Grass Field and Gary like me dominated the battle with a victory no loss of Pokémon and a complete win. And I could feel his determination and power in his eyes and hunger to win in the Indigo league just like me. Soon time passed and I got to know my opponent was Candice from the Pewter city. Huh, what do you know?

After that I spent my majority of my time in seeing her past 2 league battles and any official battles in her trainer page. And soon it was time for me to test my strength against her.

3rd person POV –

In the Rock Field

Announce: now in the green corner we have Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and in the red corner we have Candice Flintlock from Pewter city.

Referee: trainers, this will be a 3 on 3 battle and whosever Pokémon is unable to battle in the end wins and there is no time limit and both are allowed to substitute your Pokémon. is everything understood by both of you.

Ash: yes

Candice: of course.

Referee: very well, trainers release your Pokémon.

Candice: GO Graveler, lets rock this field.

Ash: Primeape, I choose you.

In the stadium –

Misty: hey, Brock do you know this Candice girl?

Brock: yes, she is one of the Pewter city Sponsored trainers.

As ash released Primeape

Brock: whoa, Primeape. Its been a while since I have seen Ash use him.

Misty: yeah I thought he was with Anthony for training?

Brock: ash must have gotten him for the league.

Misty: do you think ash will win this fight.

Brock: yes, he has a very high probability on winning the fight. Plus he has a type advantage in this fight.

Misty: that is true…

While ash's 2 friend talk the fight between Ash and Candice had begun.

A rugged battlefield surrounded by rocky terrain where Ash and his Primeape face off against Trainer Candice and her sturdy Graveler. The trainers lock eyes, ready for a challenging battle and a determination to win and move forwards in the league.

Ash: Primeape, let's show them the strength of our fighting spirit!

Candice: Graveler, prove your rock-solid power!

Ash: Primeape, go in with Close Combat! Show them our power.

Candice: Graveler, defence Curl! Brace for the impact.

Primeape charges in with a flurry of Close Combat strikes, but Graveler, utilizing defence Curl, minimizes the impact.

Ash: Primeape, agility is our key! Use Low Sweep to trip up Graveler.

Candice: Graveler, Rock Throw! Counter and defend.

Primeape swiftly executes Low Sweep, attempting to trip up Graveler, but Graveler counters with a barrage of Rock Throws to defend itself.

Primeape (focused): Primeape

Graveler (resilient): Graveler

Ash: Primeape, show them our versatility! Thunder Punch, now.

Candice: Graveler, Rollout! Evade the Ice Punch and counter!

Primeape charges its Fist with Ice Punch, aiming for Graveler, but Graveler evades and retaliates with a powerful Rollout.

Ash: Primeape, let's turn up the heat! Use Flamethrower.

Candice: Graveler, Double-Edge! Push through the Flamethrower and strike back!

Primeape surprises with a Flamethrower, catching Graveler off guard. However, Graveler responds with a powerful Double-Edge, creating a clash of fire and brute force.

Primeape was showing signs of weariness and exhaustion. Similarly Graveler also fatigued from the long battle and continuous battle.

Ash: Primeape, this is our chance! Cross Chop, full power.

Candice: Graveler, endure it! Use Self-Destruct.

Primeape gathers the last of its strength for a powerful Cross Chop, aiming to finish the battle. Graveler, sensing the situation, prepares for a desperate move.

The battle concludes with Primeape's Cross Chop proving superior to Graveler's Self-Destruct. Graveler is knocked out before he could complete the Self-destruct, and Ash emerges victorious.

Referee: as Graveler, is unable to battle the winner of the second round is Ash Ketchum, now Trainer Candice you have 30 seconds to release your next Pokémon and trainer Ash you also have 30 seconds to decide if you want to substitute or stay with Primeape.

Ash: Great job, Primeape! Your fighting spirit pulled us through.

Primeape (panting but triumphant): Primeape Prime.

Ash: you did good buddy, now return.

Referee: are both trainers ready to release their next pokemon for the second round.

Ash: I am ready.

Candice: you are going down Ash Ketchum.

Ash: we will see, Candice.

Candice: very well GO, Arcanine let's fire up, this match.

Ash: very well, go Haunter, I choose you.

From Ash's shadow comes a ghostly Pokémon, and suddenly the air in the stadium gets chilly and everyone feels a bit intimidated by the slightly large purple ghast Pokémon.

Misty: when did ash catch a Haunter and WHY?

Brock: I don't know but he sure is a lot scarier than the when I saw one in Saffron City.

Delia: oh, its such a cute one. And looks so cool. Ash has done wonders training him.

Both Brock and Misty look like she had grown 2 heads and something clicked in their heads.

Brock/ Misty 'thinking': so that's where Ash gets it from. Its Genetic and…..

While that was going on the battle was about to start in below.

Referee: let the 2nd round begin.

Ash: Haunter, let's play some mind games! Show them your ghostly tricks!

Candice: Arcanine, don't be fooled! Keep your focus and let's burn through the mist.

Ash: Haunter, start with Confuse Ray! Cast confusion upon Arcanine.

Candice: Arcanine, use Roar! Break through the confusion and assert dominance.

Haunter releases a Confuse Ray, enveloping Arcanine in a bewitching glow. However, Arcanine counters with a powerful Roar, dispelling the confusion.

Ash: Haunter, let's keep them on their toes! Use Night Shade.

Candice: Arcanine, Agility! Evade the Night Shade with speed.

Haunter launches a Night Shade, but Arcanine, agile and swift, dodges the spectral attack with ease.

Haunter (grinning mischievously): Haunter Haunt

Arcanine (focused and determined): Arc

Ash: Haunter, play a trick! Use Mean Look to trap Arcanine in battle

Candice: Arcanine, don't be intimidated! Break free with Fire Spin

Haunter casts a Mean Look, locking eyes with Arcanine, but Arcanine responds with a powerful Fire Spin, breaking free from the binding stare.

Ash: Haunter, you're doing great! Hypnosis, now

Candice: Arcanine, use Extreme Speed! Break through the drowsiness

Haunter attempts to put Arcanine to sleep with Hypnosis, but Arcanine counters with Extreme Speed, shaking off the drowsiness with sheer speed.

Haunter (floating confidently): Haunter

Arcanine (showing signs of weariness): Arcan

Ash: Now's our chance, Haunter! Shadow Ball, full power!

Candice: Arcanine, try to endure it! Use Flamethrower to counter!

Haunter conjures a powerful Shadow Ball, and Arcanine attempts to counter with Flamethrower, creating a clash of ghostly and fiery energies.

The battle concludes with Haunter's Shadow Ball proving superior to Arcanine's Flamethrower. Arcanine is unable to withstand the spectral force, and Ash emerges victorious.

Referee: as Arcanine, is unable to battle the winner of the second round is Ash Ketchum, now Trainer Candice you have 30 seconds to release your next Pokémon and trainer Ash you also have 30 seconds to decide if you want to substitute or stay with Haunter.

Ash: Fantastic job, Haunter! Your ghostly antics really spooked them.

Haunter (cackling mischievously): Haunter Haunt

Candice: (smiling and nodding) Well-fought, Ash. Your Haunter is quite the tricky opponent. But that doesn't mean I will go down easily.

Ash: I have no doubt about that Candice. Now Haunter return.

And instead of his poke-ball, Haunter gave a very creepy laugh that scared the entire stadium and slowly went inside Ash's Shadow.

Candice: that was very Creepy.

Ash just shrugged nonchalantly.

Ash: what could you do, he like it.

Everyone except Delai: do not say that with a straight face and that is very creepy.

Candice: well, OK then now lets show you my starter Onix go, rock the field.

A huge Onix came out of its poke-ball and stood front of Candice.

Ash: so you want to play like this very well, Onix show what a true Onix looks like.

And from Ash's poke-ball came an Onix but it was almost twice as big as Candice's Onix.

Onix: Roar

That roar alone shook the entire stadium.

Announce: for the love of Arceus that, ONIX is HUGE. What does Ash Ketchum feed his Pokémon, almost all his Pokémon are bigger compared to their average species and much stronger till now we have seen 9 of his Pokémon and most of them are much more stronger than their species average.

In the stands –

Delia: oh, how adorable a fight between 2 Onix, and they both are so cute and hard looking.

Brock/ Mist 'Thinking': please don't tell that with A STRAIGHT Face. And where the Arceus did Ash find that HUGE ONIX.

Ash: Onix, let's show them the power of the earth beneath us!

Candice: Onix, stand firm! We've got this!

Ash: Onix, start with Rock Throw! Set the stage with your might.

Candice: Onix, Dig! Submerge and evade the Rock Throw.

Ash's Onix hurls rocks towards Candice's Onix, but Candice's Onix skillfully digs into the ground, avoiding the attack.

Ash: Onix, Iron Tail! Strike with the force of the earth.

Candice: Onix, Bind! Wrap around and counter the Iron Tail.

Ash's Onix swings its mighty Iron Tail, but Candice's Onix retaliates with a Bind, wrapping around Ash's Onix and minimizing the impact.

Ash's Onix stood towering and formidable, while Candice's Onix also stood resilient and to show its might.

Ash: Onix, show them our strength! Slam, now.

Candice: Onix, Harden! Fortify your defences.

Ash's Onix executes a powerful Slam, but Candice's Onix responds with Harden, bolstering its defence's against the physical onslaught.

Ash: Onix, let's shake things up! Dragon Breath, full power.

Candice: Onix, Roar! Disrupt the Dragon Breath with a mighty roar.

Ash's Onix releases a potent Dragon Breath, but Candice's Onix counters with a powerful Roar, disrupting the breath attack.

Onix (Ash's): (unyielding)

Onix (Candice's): (showing signs of fatigue)

Ash: Onix, let's finish this! Rock Slide, create a landslide.

Candice: Onix, endure it! Use Dig to escape the Rock Slide!

Ash's Onix triggers a massive Rock Slide, attempting to overwhelm Candice's Onix. Candice's Onix counters by swiftly Digging underground, avoiding the falling rocks.

Referee: as Canice's Onix, is unable to battle the winner of the third round is Ash Ketchum, as Trainer Candice has no Pokémon left the winner is Ash Ketchum.

The battle concludes with Ash's Onix standing tall after Candice's Onix is unable to endure the relentless assault of the Rock Slide.

Ash: Great job, Onix! Your strength shook the very foundations.

Onix (Ash's): roaring triumphantly

Candice 'nodding in respect': Well-fought, Ash. Your Onix is truly a rock-solid force.

They said that while shaking hands.

Announcer: What a victory folks. And by the looks of it we have good fight ahead of us in the future by the things that are progressing.

In the Ice field –

Announcer: and Gary Oak, has done it again folks he has won his 3rd battle effortlessly. And he has absolutely demolished his opponent can anyone stop this rookie or are we seeing the birth of a new champion.

Gary just smirked and his cheerleader just singing his praises and cheering him on. With the entire crowd.

Professor Oak 'Thinking': if things like this go on, I guess both Gary and Ash will most probably face each other in the Semi-final, and whoever wins will have to face the new monster of this generation and either one of them will become a monster of their generation or lead it or not. That only time will tell.
