EPISODE 87: Once in a Crescent Moon!

That Pokemon Battle Cup lasted for the whole day, me and my Pokemons couldn't defeat Camellia in the final duel, but hey? At least we were able to defeat Krill, which is my main goal after all. It's indeed fun to participate in Battle Competitions, it can train and sharpen your Pokemons for the near future.

Today is the day the Pokemon of the crescent moon descends at the lake to bless all the citizens and tourists of the town. The town is hosting its Grand Festival and no way am I going to miss every single one of it.

"Come on Glade hurry up! I want to see the festival already!" I beamed with excitement as RIolu jumped to my shoulder.

"It's too early Kalem! It's 7:00 in the morning! Go ahead, I'll follow you later." Glade uttered with his sleepy voice as he covered his head with the pillow.

"Hmph! Fine, I'll be waiting for you but promise me, you'll arrive early ok?" I queried with slight frustration.

"Yeah! Yeah! Go ahead, I'm trying to sleep!" Glass beamed with frustration as he turned his body to the left.

"I guess it's just me and you buddy!" I played with Riolu's chin while opening the door.

I closed the door slowly so I won't disturb Glade's sleepy slumber.

"Oh Kalem! You're awake already?" Camellia queried as she walked out of her room.

"Of course I am, I'm excited about the town's grand festival! I'm not going to miss a single event!" I beamed with excitement.

"That's great, I woke up of excitement as well. Zhery was still sleeping so she told me to go ahead!" Camellia explained.

"Yeah, that's what Glade told me as well! Hey, I have an idea!" I beamed with excitement.

"What kind of idea Kalem?" Camellia queried.

"Why don't we go to the festival together! Glade and Zhery are still asleep, so why don't you come with me?" I smiled and suggested.

"C...Come with you? Just the two of us?" Camellia reassured as her cheeks turned slightly red.

"Of course! Who else is awake? They'll meet us later anyways, let's go ahead!" I suggested.

"Um, I'm not sure," Camellia uttered timidly.

"Come on! It's the grand festival, this is the perfect time to explore this ancient town! Follow me!" I quickly grabbed Camellia's hand and rushed down the stairs.

"Kalem, wait... I can walk!" Camellia beamed with excitement as her cheeks turned slightly red.

Glade and Zhery went out of their rooms with happiness and joy.

"Our plan is working hee hee!" Zhery smiled and laughed.

"Camellia's going to be angry after hearing about this!" Glade smiled and laughed.

"That's just part one of our Operation Festival!" Zhery smiled and laughed hard.

And Camellia I went out of the hotel with excitement and joy. The first thing we saw outside the hotel were large Pokemon balloons floating in the sky! The town was filled with banners, colorful decorations, flowers, and balloons! The people were setting up fireworks on the other side of the lake!

"So Camellia, where do you want to go first?" I queried with excitement.

"An... anything will do for me," Camellia uttered timidly.

"Alright if you say so, let's go to the town's center plaza!" I beamed with determination.

We walked slowly towards the town's central plaza to enjoy the sceneries and scenarios happening around us! There were people cooking food for the festival, there were people setting up flowers and decorations everywhere. During the Grand Festival, everybody is generous, everybody is willing to help each other, and everybody is excited!

This is not a day to remember the past, this is the day to prepare for the future! The Pokemon which descends from the sky is said to bless only those who spread peace and tranquility to each other, may it be the poor? or even the rich? Everyone deserves peace!

I've never seen any town this generous and helpful to each other before! This town is truly remarkable! The children came out to play with each other, some gave gifts, and some gave food to express their joy to each other. If you're wondering who this Pokemon is? Which Pokemon would descend from the sky? It's no other than Cresselia!

"Come on hold his hand Camellia," Camellia uttered to herself as she looked at my hand. Her cheeks were slightly red as she tried to force her hand to touch mine.

"Hey there Mr, here, have this!" a random kid went near me and gave me a beautiful flower.

"Oh really? Thank you, you can call me Kalem!" I smiled at the boy and patted his head as he gave me the flower.

"No problem Mr. Kalem, during this day, everything is free! You can have anything you want for free!" The boy jumped with happiness.

"That's great! Thanks for the flower!" I smiled at the young boy.

"Take care of it Mr! That flower is extremely rare." The boy explained with joy.

"Extremely rare? What do you mean?" I queried.

"That flower is the immortal flower, it never dies nor decays unless there is unhappiness in the heart." The boy explained.

"Unhappiness? You mean like sadness?" I reassured.

"Yes Mr. Kalem! Let the immortal flower remind you to stay happy forever, just like how the immortal flower blooms forever. Don't lose it, it only blooms every three hundred years." the boy explained.

"But if it's rare, don't you want to keep it?" I queried.

"Nah! I'm still a child, you can have it, just don't get sad or the flower decays!" the boy warned.

"Oh and one more thing? If there is no forgiveness, peace, love, and happiness, if there's hatred, pride, jealousy, or even betrayal in one's heart, the flower would decay and lead the person into an unforgiving world of darkness. That's just a legend by the way, so... goodbye!" The boy warned and left with joy.

"Huh? Those words sound familiar." I tried to recall the words the boy said. What caught my mind was the so-called unforgiving world of darkness. Of course he doesn't literally mean that I'll teleport into a new world, it's just an expression.

"That boy is kind," I uttered while smiling at the flower.

"Yeah, I've never seen such kindness before." Camellia agreed and added.

"Camellia, your name is a flower specie right?" I recalled.

"Yeah, my mother and father named me after the Camellia flower, why do you ask?" Camellia explained and questioned.

"Nothing, I just remembered something," I explained and placed the immortal flower inside my bag.

"Step right up folks! We're giving free sweet apples in a stick! Just line up and we'll give you!" A young lady who looks familiar suddenly shouted.

"Sweet apples? It's been forever since I last ate a sweet apple." Camellia recalled.

"Then come on, let's get some!" I beamed with excitement and pulled Camellia's hand.

"Excuse me, can we have some please," I begged.

"Sure nothing, oops!" The girl agreed to my request but accidentally dropped her coin. The coin rolled over to the other side of the street, so I volunteered to get the coin for her.

"I'll be right back Camellia!" I beamed and chased the coin.

"So, how's it going?" the girl selling sweet apples was no other than Zhery wearing some Pikachu mask of some sort. Zhery removed the mask and revealed herself.

"Zhery!? You're selling sweet apples, but I thought you were asleep?" Camellia queried in confusion.

"Surprise! So tell me, how's it going?" Zhery smiled with a mischievous look on her face.

"Wait, don't tell me you and Glade weren't sleeping at all!"

"We weren't, we planned your day with Kalem you know? You're welcome!" Zhery smiled.

"So you were the one who put me into this! I'm going to get you back!" Camellia uttered with frustration.

"Oh please, you're enjoying it right?" Zhery waggled her eyebrows.

"Um, kinda... hehe!"

"So, just stick with the plan!"

"I can't even touch his hands!"

"What!? Haven't we practiced this before? Or are you too scared to do it because Kalem will know the truth?" Camellia queried sarcastically.

"Well I don't plan to admit to him yet."

"What!? Why!?"

"Maybe when we're old enough, I'll admit to him."

"Oh ho, I know where this is going, you have a bright future ahead of you with your future husband! Hee hee." Zhery teased.

"Stop teasing me Zhery!"

"Alright, alright... here comes Kalem, so I gotta put back my Pikachu mask!" Zhery uttered sarcastically.

"Here's your coin Ms." I returned the shimmering silver coin to the girl.

"Thanks so much, here are your apples!" The girl gave me and Camellia an apple on a stick.

"That Zhery! She never stops teasing me." Camellia uttered in her mind with frustration as she took a bite from her apple.

We arrived at the central plaza and we saw a lot of children playing old fashioned games, there was a mini carnival and a game booth as well!

"So many amazing stuff to do!" I beamed with excitement as I stared at the enormous floating Pikachu balloon on top of my head.

"Kalem!" Camellia shouted with excitement.

"I want to go there!" Camellia pointed.

"Really where!?" I started to beam with excitement.

"At the department store of course!" Camellia pointed and smiled.

"All this time I thought... I thought, it was a game." I knelt in disappointment.

"Please Kalem! It's been a long time since I did shopping."

"Can't you shop with your parents?"

"They're in the Alola region remember? That's why they entrusted me with this credit card!"

"All your money will go poof in one second!" I warned with disappointment.

"And so are yours in games right? Come on Kalem, shopping is fun! I'll just buy a few things."

"Whenever you say 'a few things' you always multiply them to the power of a hundred!" I teased with disappointment.

"Well you have a point, but? Who cares! It'll be a while!" Camellia uttered.

"You and Zhery are very similar, fine, I'll come with you," I uttered with disappointment.

So yeah, I was forced to carry dozens of things, I tried to stop here but nothing ever works. She likes to shop and there's nothing I can do about it.

We went out of the department store after Camellia bought brand new notebooks!? I thought she was about to buy dresses and stuff like that but all she wanted was notebooks!? Pencils!? Erasers!?

"Do you really need this many notebooks?" I queried sarcastically.

"You thought I needed dresses didn't ya? I needed those notebooks for my research of course!" Camellia charmed.

"Research, of course you bought for research..." I answered sarcastically.

While walking through the central plaza, a random water puddle appeared from nowhere. Camellia accidentally tripped over, but luckily I was able to catch her hand.

"Hey are you alright?" I queried.

"Yeah, yeah!" Camellia uttered with frustration as she saw Zhery laughing at the corner.

"I'll be right back Kalem, just stay here!" Camellia uttered with frustration.

"Um... Ok then."

Camellia walked towards the laughing Zhery.

"What in the world was that for!? Why put a random water puddle?" Camellia queried.

"Come on, at least Kalem saved you right?" Zhery teased.

"You literally did that on purpose! I thought you are my friend?" Camellia questioned.

"Um, I just helped you get closer to Kalem didn't I?" Zhery teased.

"You're taking things too seriously! Stop with your plans!"

"Too late! Glade is already doing his part!" Zhery smiled.

"Hmph! I'll get you one day!" Camellia uttered with frustration.

"Hey Kalem, how's your day?" Glade stepped forward out of nowhere and questioned me.

"Um, it's fine, I'm just waiting for Camellia, she said she had to finish some business," I explained.

"Oh, if that's the case, why don't we play some games in the car-"

"Hey Glade, Zhery's waiting for you at the other end!" Camellia uttered sarcastically.

"Great, now the plan is ruined!" Glade uttered to himself.

"Wait, Zhery is here too?" I queried in confusion.

"Yup, I'm here too!" Zhery walked forward.

"Great, now the gang is back together, let's go to the carnival!" I beamed with happiness and leaped with excitement.

The four of us had a great time in the carnival. We played different games and ate different food we haven't tasted before. The carnival was fun.

"What happened to operation grand festival!?" Glade queried softly.

"Camellia caught us, so I called the plan!" Zhery explained.

"Camellia caught you? Or you purposely showed yourself!?"

"Um, I did at the sweet apple stand, he he!" Zhery explained as Glade face palmed himself.

We waited for the time to arrive, around seven o clock, the town's mayor called everyone to go to the lake of Wisdom. We were given a candle and a small man-made lily pad. The moon was about to shine in the center of the lake. The colorful lights turned on, as well as the street lamps. Everybody gathered at the lakefront.

The moon was extremely large as it slowly moves towards the center of the lake.

"We are gathered here today, to witness another astounding event. The day Cresselia descends to the lake to bless us as all. As Cresselia descends to the lake, we shall light up our candles and drift them away through the lily pads. May your heart wish for anything to happen, may your heart be filled with happiness and joy!" The mayor uttered.

The night was colorful as all of us stared at the moon, bright lights colored the town as the citizens waited for Cresselia's appearance.

"Ding... Ding... Ding..." The large clock tower ticked as the moon makes a debut at the center of the lake.

"Finally, Cresselia has arrived!" One of the citizens shouted as a large Pokemon suddenly appeared from the sky.

"Alright folks, drift your candles away!" The mayor ordered.

All of us placed the candles in the lily pad as Cresselia slowly descended. Cresselia was surrounded by sparkling auras which astounded everyone. We placed the lily pads on the lake and pushed them forwards.

"Cresselia has arrived! Cresselia has arrived!" The citizens shouted as the candles in the lily pad colored the lake. They candles filled the lake with a luminous yellow color, a symbol of new hopes, new dreams, and a bright future ahead.

Cresselia came forth and stopped at the center of the lake, the scene was majestic with all the candles below her, one minute was given to us to silently say our pleads. Cresselia listens to the heart and not to the mind.

"Cresselia, I wish that you bless me in my journey. I wish to travel with my friends forever, to travel with my Pokemons, and to achieve my dream! Cresselia, I hope that my future will be amazing, a future with joy, happiness, peace, and love, a future with no regrets from the past, a future that I deserve!" I uttered silently and looked at the majestic Cresselia together with all my Pokemons, friends, and their Pokemons by their side.

After a minute or two, Cresselia sang her majestic music as the whole town was covered with a shimmering aura. A lot of sparkles fell from the sky as Cresselia sang. People say that Cresselia sings for our pleading our hearts.

<Cresselia>The Pokemon sang with her majestic voice with all the candles shining below her.

I was listening and looking at Cresselia's music and face. Tears fell through her eyes, as her heart was filled with all our wishes. A sudden mist covered the entire lake. The mist was color white and Cresselia couldn't be seen. Even if we couldn't see her, we could hear her voice and her music singing along with nature.

The white mist disappeared alongside with Cresselia, we have to wait for another three hundred years for Cresselia to return.

Cresselia's music brought joy to my heart as the fireworks began to ascend in the sky. The fireworks colored the night sky and inspired all of us.

"Riolu, Gardevoir, Treecko, Zorua, Scyther, and my future Pokemon, let this inspire us to achieve our dreams!" I beamed with joy and clenched my fist towards the moon.

Camellia was amazed by the fireworks. The fireworks reflected at Camellia's eyes. Everyone was inspired, a new day will begin soon.

Zhery, the mischievous friend pushed Camellia towards me at the perfect moment.

"Oh, hey Camellia." I greeted as she accidentally hit my arm due to Zhery.

"Oh, um... sorry, I accidentally bumped into you, hehe," Camellia uttered with worry and embarrassment as her feisty eyes rolled at Zhery.

"That's ok, anyway, I've been thinking, you can have this immortal flower if you want," I suggested and showed the flower at her.

"M... Me? You're going to give the flower to me? But why?"

"I don't need it, this flower suits you anyways, there are many things that can make me happy aside from the immortal flower. Your name is a flower, so, have the immortal flower." I suggested.

"I can't just take that Kalem, that flower only blooms every three hundred years."

"Today is a day of generosity, see? The flower looks good at you." I uttered and placed the flower on the right side of her hair.

"T... thank you Kalem." Camellia became speechless after I placed the flower on the right side of her hair.

"Hey Kalem, let's go for a little stroll," Glade suggested and interrupted.

"Yeah sure, Camellia, I'll be going with Glade for a while," I uttered and smiled at her.

As I slowly walked with Glade through the lakefront, Camellia looked at me as her cheeks blushed red.

"So, how was it?" Zhery went close to her and charmed. Camellia ignored what Zhery said as she continued to look at me.

"Hey wake up!"

"Oh, sorry Zhery, didn't see you there."

"See, if I didn't push you, Kalem wouldn't have given you that flower!"

"I know, thanks Zhery," Camellia uttered slowly as she looked at me from the distance with her blushing cheeks.

"To be honest, that flower really looks good at ya." Zhery complemented.

"Thanks, Kalem truly is the best person I've ever met!" Camellia giggled with her blushing cheeks.

"Alright, enough night dreaming, I'm hungry!" Zhery beamed with excitement.

Me and Glade took a stroll at the side of the lake while the candles floated at the lake.

"So Glade, what did you wish for?"

"Nah, nothing much. I wished that our parents would truly be alive." Glade uttered slowly while we walked steadily at the lakefront.

"Don't worry Glade, we're near the cavern. We'll know the answer soon! They are alive, trust me!" I uttered with encouragement.

That is the day I met Cresselia, a Pokemon with a majestic heart. She listens to the pleading of the heart and soul rather than the mind and strength. New hopes, new beginnings, prepare Mr.Florence, I'm coming for ya!

As the journey continues...
