(MC POV)
I close the window and click on the other skill in my status, Telekinesis.
[Telekinesis, a skill that allows the user the ability to push, pull and control the matter around them through their thoughts, will, and emotions at the cost of psychic energy. At higher tiers the user will be able to create new skills that divert from telekinesis.]
'This definitely makes me completely separate from the Pokemon of this universe. I'm not confined to the system of learning 'moves' but rather a completely separate system that relies on the consumption of other life in order to become stronger.'
A small chirp cries out as a little bird comes out from the forage carrying a small berry in it's sharp beak.
A dark thought comes in my head and I decide to experiment on this bird Pokemon. I focus my attention at the top of it's head as it slowly approaches the pond.

My eyes pop out from my head as I think just one thing. I imagine that a hand appears around the small pidgey and puts pressure on it's vulnerable neck.
'Crush.'
A disgusting noise is heard as the pidgey's body is crushed by a transparent pink hand that dissolves after I loosen my focus. I stare at the blood for a few seconds before moving closer to the crushed body to examine it's status.

I freeze in place after seeing the blood stain the grass below me and I begin to feel nauseous at the horrendous sight.
'What the fuck? Why was that able to kill the pidgey in a single direct hit? I thought didn't think I would be able to kill Pokemon, at least not yet.'
I quickly search for any type of tool I can use to skin the Pidgey and I begin to search for any valuable belongings that this body had. In the bag that I had strapped to my back when I came here I found 1 potion, a pokedex with my identification and 6 pokeballs.
'So did this kid get stuck in this forest? Why didn't he just get out with the help of his pokemon?'
Ignoring the pokeballs for the moment I continue to search for anything I can use to help me and after a few hours of gathering materials I was able to make a dull flint knife that I used to skin the dead bird pokemon and sharpen a large stick to hold the bird in place.
With the wood I collected I attempted to make a fire with the basic survival skills I had learned in my spare time. After a few minutes of failed attempts I finally got a small fire going and I continued to fuel it with dry wood untill it was big enough to cook the dead pidgey.
'I would never make a fire like this out in the open if it wasn't for the fact that I really can't find any food besides the oran berries I already ate.'
After waving down the dead skewed Pidgey over the fire with the sharped stick I take a deep breath and relax for the first time today. I take out one of the pokeballs and throw it on the floor, with a loud click it opens and nothing pops out. I continue to throw the other 5 pokeballs on the ground as a horrible feeling builds in my chest. With continuous clicks all the pokeballs open to reveal absolutely nothing, no pokemon whatsoever.
'Shit, this dumbass came into this forest hoping he could catch his own pokemon and he got lost in here with no food and no water. Well at the very least I now have some idea of my new identity, from the pokedex I know that my new name is Aurel Nayden and I'm an orphan from Viridian City who risked his life to catch a pokemon in the Viridian Forest for whatever reason. Although I may not have a starter pokemon with me I do have pokeballs and since I have psychic energy I should be able to develop a mental connection with some pokemon. Now I need to find a pokemon that will actually be of use to me, I don't know whether there are pokemon from the other gens in Kanto or if there are multiple continents at all, but if there isn't then I should try to find a Nidoran to defeat the first gym with. Nidoran is able to learn double kick and it'd be incredibly helpful against Brock if I can manage to level it up. I might also catch a Pikachu just so I can have an electric type for Misty or whoever else is the water type gym leader. This is only secondary to increasing my own strength, because of my skill Limit Breaker I should be able to theoretically grow beyond the psychic capabilities of any pokemon so increasing my control over psychic energy is the number one priority.'
After a few hours of mentally writing down my plans and goals for the future I finally take a giant bite out of the cooked pidgey. Ripping apart it's meat with my teeth a strange energy separate from psychic energy enters my body as I consume the bird pokemon.

Strength exudes from my body as the system notification bleeps in my head. I get up from the floor to test my newfound increase in speed and to see the changes to my body. I run at full speed to a tree about 30 feet away and I immediately notice the difference in speed.
'If I'm not mistaken that should be a 100% increase in just pure running speed. But I need to check to see what the actual increase is.'
Clicking on the new skill I smile satisfied at the new skill that will surely help me in the future.
[Enhanced Speed, a skill that allows the user to surpass the natural biological limit in speed for their race. Every increase in tier will cause the users limits to rise to another level, once this skill reaches a certain tier it will evolve into a higher form.]
