Chapter 1

Max woke up one warm morning in Gravel Town with a single thought on his mind. Today was the day his Pokemon adventure began. He had waited for this day since he first started learning about Pokemon, and today he finally got to set out on his own and catch his very first Pokemon.

He walk downstairs to meet his dear old mother. As he entered the kitchen his mom suddenly turned around and gave him a hug. "I'm so proud of you, Max. You're finally setting out on your own Pokemon adventure..." she sighed.

As his mother began cooking him breakfast, Max sat down at the table and started to think about his first Pokemon. Which one would he choose?

He knew he wanted to have a strong start to his Pokemon journey, but first he had to think about what kind of Pokemon would fit best in his team.

Suddenly, the front door opened. Max looked up to see his cheerful rival Ella walk in.

"Hi Max!" she said excitedly, clearly very excited about their journey starting today.

"Hi, Ella." Max responded. "So, it's finally time to choose our first Pokemon."

Ella smiled and nodded with excitement. "I already know what Pokemon I'm choosing." she said confidently.

"Yeah, I don't care..." Max said in a defeated tone.

"Come on Max! You gotta be cheerful!" Ella says.

"Oh really? Do tell, what type of Pokemon are you getting?" asked Max curiously. He wondered what kind of strategies she had planned for their first encounter already...

Ella then smiled confidently, and said "I'm getting a Fairy type Pokemon to start off with."

"A fairy type? Interesting..." Max thought to himself...

After eating breakfast Max and Ella both set out from their houses towards Professor Gab's lab. As they got there they saw a lot of other young aspiring trainers waiting to receive their first pokemon from Professor Gravel.

Max glanced over at his rival Ella to see her checking out what Pokemon everyone was choosing. Would she still stick to her original plan of going for a Fairy type? Or had she changed her mind seeing all the other choices around?

As Max and Ella entered the lab, Professor Gab greeted them with a warm smile. "Welcome, Max and Ella, I hope you're both excited for this momentous occasion."

"We sure are, Professor Gab!" exclamied Ella. "And can you guess what Pokemon I'm picking?" Ella said excitedly.

"Hmm I have a good idea," Professor Gab replied, "Do you plan on picking a Fairy type Pokemon?" He asked Ella, seeing that this clearly shocked Max.

Ella happily nodded, "That's right, Professor Gab! I'm going for a Fairy type!"

"Alright, I have just the pokemon for you." Professor Gab nodded, "Follow me outside the lab, there's a spot just ahead where you will find your respective Pokemon."

Ella smiled, happily following Professor Gab out of the lab. As they arrived in the spot, just ahead was a group of pokemon of different types. As Max and Ella began looking around they realized they have to choose the pokemon that calls to them.

Max looked around for a bit, and his eyes landed on a lone Dark type pokemon. Could it be...

Ella on the other hand ran towards a group of Fairy pokemon. As she got closer, one single pokemon looked at her, calling out. And Ella went to claim it as her first pokemon...

"I see, so that pokemon is the one you'll choose?" Professor Gab asked.

"Yes." Max said.

"Here's its pokeball." Professor Gab give Max a pokeball. "Take a good care of that pokemon."

"I will." Max responded

"Professor Gab! Can you give me the pokeball for this pokemon?" Ella shouted from the distance.

"Sure!" Professor Gab said. "Here's a pokedex Max. I wish you the best."

Max take the pokedex and quickly heads out of the lab, he goes back to the house and say goodbye to his mother and quickly ran towards the forest.

There's a gym in Gravel Town but first he needs to train his pokemon to Gravel Forest.

Here's a quick info for Gravel Town: Gravel Town is a large town (large enough to be a town, but not large enough to be a city.) There's a gym resides there, where the GymLeader use a normal type pokemon, so if our mc wants to beat the GymLeader then he needs a fighting type pokemon;)

Max hides behind a tree as he sees a pokemon, he grab his pokedex inside his backpocket and scan the pokemon.

('Mankey' a pig monkey pokemon, a fighting type, It is extremely quick to anger. It could be docile one moment, then thrashing away the next instant.)

"Alright then... Go Houndour!" Max send out Houndour. "Use ember!"

Mankey dodge the move by jumping, it quickly charge towards Houndour. "Dodge it, then use ember again."

Houndour does what Max said, it dodge the attack from Mankey by dashing out of the way then quickly spit a ball of fire towards Mankey, the attack hits Mankey, knocking it down to the ground.

Max quickly throws a pokeball towards the Mankey, the pokeball moves three times but after that it didn't move again, indicating that the pokemon has been catched.

"Who knew it was this easy to catch a pokemon." Max says while patting his Houndour head. "You did good, I'll give you a treat when we get back."

Max send Houndour back inside its pokeball, he stand up and start walking back towards Gravel Town. But before he can make it halfway through the forest he encounters someone.

"Hey Max! Why did you just leave me to the lab?" Ella said pouting. "I thought we're friends?"

"Shut it Ella... I'm going back to the town to challenge the GymLeader and beat him." Max said in a serious tone.

"You know... you should try smiling sometimes." Ella says in a defeated tone. "Oh wait! Before you go, I wanted to give you this in the lab but the professor said that you already left."

"What's this?" Max asked.

"Potions." Ella said. "You can use it to heal your pokemon when they got hurt after the battle, if you don't want to go to the pokemon center."

"Thank you." Max says. "I'll leave now."

"Wait!" Ella grabs Max hands.

"What is it now?" Max ask, clearly losing his patience.

"Let's have a battle."
