Chapter 3: Oak's Summer Camp, and Orre Troubles

Author's note: Hey Beast Sage here! First and foremost, to all that have read this story and my Ark: SE Fanfic I apologize for ditching for so long. I'm currently juggling a full-time job, being a Full-time college student, and turning my physical health around with diet and exercise. I'm on a Grind and have little to no free time for my hobbies. It takes a lot of mental stamina and time to write consistently so I struggled to find time to do anything. I'm back now, but with how hectic my schedule is my chapter turnout may not meet your expectations. For that I apologize.

But anyway, enough about me here's the next chapter!

 It'd been a year since Edward saw the broadcast of Shadow Lugia or XD001 stealing that cruise liner, and there'd been no news from his uncle, Professor Krane. He feared the worst as even though he knew that his uncle was being forced to help stabilize the corruption of Shadow Lugia, Edward and his family's existence already could have changed the future. Maybe Michael won't make it in time...

 Well despite all his worries of canon events and the trouble brewing in Orre, Edward couldn't do anything about it at six years old. So, focusing on the present Edward looked at the plane he and Serena with his parents and her mother were preparing to board. It would be their ride to the Kanto Region International Airport, and they'd take a bus to Pallet town to participate in Professor Oak's summer camp. 

 Edward was looking forward to meeting Ash Ketchum and maybe some other characters that could be going to the camp. It is an annual summer camp sponsored by one of the foremost experts on Pokémon so children from regions all over the world apply to spend two weeks there. As the son of a Pokémon professor and the daughter of a famous Kalos celebrity, it was kind of a given for us to get an invitation.

 Four hours and an endless stream of questions from an excited and somewhat impatient Serena later, they touched down at Kanto's airport. Edward lightly shook Serena who was asleep in the seat next to him saying, "Hey, wake up we're here!"

 "Huh, what...?" Serena mumbled groggily before glancing out the window, and her eyes lit up as she could see a flock of black and red feathered bird Pokémon flying in the sky. She leaned closer to the window and pointed at the Pokémon and asked, "What's that Pokémon?"

 Edward looking out the window recognized one of the two basic flying type birds of the Kanto region, and said, "That's a flock of Spearow, and they are a common bird pokémon of this region. Alongside Pidgey, they are the two main flying bird pokémon of Kanto."

 Looking back from the window as they unbuckled their seatbelts, Serena excitedly hopped out of her seat to join her mom in disembarking the plane.

 As the Kalos region group landed in Kanto, events were reaching a fever pitch in Orre. Michael Faced down the Cipher organization's Rep. Lovrina in an attempt to save Professor Krane.

 Michael ran alongside Professor Krane through the dilapidated hallways of the Old Cipher Lab. Their footsteps echoing off the steel walls, before they both had to jump back as glowing purple needles embedded themselves in the floor before corroding the floor with an audible hiss.

 "Oh, wait! Wait! I so have not heard of anyone leaving anywhere. Professor Krane is going to be very busy, oh so very busy! Please be a nice boy and don't disturb us." A woman's voice called out. From around the next corner, a woman in a light blue and white sleeveless dress stepped out followed by a green vaguely humanoid Pokemon with two different colored roses instead of hands. A Roselia whose roses still shimmered purple from the poison sting it had intercepted them with. The woman had long pink hair styled into twin tails that reached her calves. She looked to be in her late teens or early twenties with bright green eyes and the figure of a model.

 Prof. Krane stepped forward, "We're Going back to the HQ Lab, stand aside please."

 "Oh... That Naps! He so must have made a boo-boo again! I so have to punish him lots!" Lovrin says in frustration with a distinct pout at his words. Lovrina turns to Michael with a sickly sweet smile and asks, "Little boy maybe you can convince Professor Krane. You should so tell him to study our XD001. Your see our plan is to make Shadow Pokémon that can never ever be purified. XD001 is only our first prototype. So when we work out the problems, we can make combat units with XD-series Pokémon. Wouldn't that be just peachy? But we so need the Professor's cooperation for our plan. So please, sweetie, can you please ask him nicely to help?"

 Michael gives her a look as if to say "You're joking right?", before saying one word, "No."

 Lovrina recoils as if slapped as her charm failed so spectacularly, before say with gritted teeth, "Oh, how nasty! You silly boy! You so won't help me with XD001 either? Oh, you'll be sorry now! But you will so understand! A little hurt is so persuasive!"

 With that the battle between the two ensues, with Michael calling out his partner Pokémon, Umbreon, and Lovrina sending out her Roselia...
