Chapter 3: Voltage Academy

Voltage Academy is the best school in the whole of Kanto, where the very best can enter to become the very best trainers, professors, breeders, and much more.

So Troy was thinking, "How did I end up in the green dorms? After saying that cool speech yesterday, I feel embarrassed. All right, no time to be down about it. Time to show everyone I mean business."

The academy has now officially started, and today was the day everyone started to get their Pokémon that will be their partner for their whole life.

Seeing that classes were going to start in the next hour, Troy started to get ready and put his uniform on, just as he was about to leave. Troy came back and put on his headphones around his neck.

Coming into class, Troy had all the attention on him: "Hey, it's true; he really is a part of the green dorms." "Shhh, he will hear you." "So what? I bet he was all talk." Troy, hearing all this, didn't really care and just went to take his seat.

After about 30 minutes of waiting for the class to fill up, the professor finally arrived. "All right, some of you might already know me, but for the rest of you, my name is Professor Jasper, and I will be your homeroom teacher for the next year." "Professor, may I know what you are a professor in?" a student in the back asked.

"Good question; I study evolution stones and how they work. I was also an apprentice of Professor Rowan."

Everyone who heard that Jasper was an apprentice of Prof. Rowan started chatting to each other. Jasper's slamming on his desk had gotten everyone to quiet down. "Alright, that's enough chit chat; let's move on to the important part for which you all have been waiting let's go to the field where you will choose your Pokémon."

Troy heard that and got out of his chair and started to rush to the field to be there first. Once there, Troy had seen a few classes already there before him. Troy, annoyed that he wasn't there first, sucked it up and waited for the other classes to arrive.

Professor Oak had gone up to the stadium and finally said, "All right, everyone is here today. You will be picking your Pokémon. But before that, may the three top students come up to the stage to receive their special Pokémon." Three students had come up onto the stage.

Everyone, seeing the three students, everyone whispering to each other, "They're the top 3 students in this whole school."

Professor Oak, waiting for everyone to be quiet, said, "Now let me introduce the top 3 students in the whole academy, starting from the third best student, Millio, the second being Sarah, and finally the first being Gary Oak. Now that they have the top three, they will be able to pick the three royal starter Pokémon of Kanto."

Oak was letting them go in order to pick first: Gary had chosen Charmander; Sarah, being next, had chosen Squirtle; and finally, Millio got Bulbasaur. While everyone was looking at what Pokémon the top three were choosing, Troy was looking at the Pokémon amazed to see what their potential were.

Troy, seeing a new aura, could tell that these three Pokémon had monstrous potential. Professor Oak, looking at the crowd of students, spotted Troy not looking at the top three trainers but instead at the three Pokémon with a surprised look. Oak, seeing this, could tell this student was special compared to most other trainers.

After everyone saw the top three pick their Pokémon, it was finally time for everyone else to pick their Pokémon. Jasper had told everyone to line up in their class and wait to be called out to pick their Pokémon.

Waiting at the back of the line, Troy saw so many pokeballs that there were more than students on the table laid out. After waiting for about 2 hours, most of the students had picked their Pokémon. Troy, seeing so many Pokémon auras popping up, started to get a headache. Jasper, seeing this, went up to Troy and asked, "Troy, are you all, right?" "Yes, sir, I'm just getting a bit of a headache."

Finally, when it was Troy's turn to pick a Pokémon, he started to look at each of the auras on the pokeballs.
