Another flash of light shot across Patrick's eyes. However this time it wasn't the storm. He opened his eyes in disbelief. Patrick hadn't been bitten. He hadn't been struck by lightning. The sight chocked him up. He saw his Shinx in the fangs of the Bibarel. Its leg had been punctured, the cut almost clean through his leg. The Bibarel swayed with great force from one side to the other, and released it in the air just as a little boy who grabs a dolly by the pigtails to toss it across a room.
"Shinx!" Patrick croaked out as drops of blood began to patter across his face. His Shinx pounded down at the forests edge.
Patrick was in a panic. He must act now, or their would be no hope for him or his Shinx. He dove for the pokéball that still lay on the ground. He clutched it and quickly shot up from the ground sprinting toward the dim flickering light at the edge of the forest. The Bibarel now swiftly trailed behind him. Patrick was never going to reach his Shinx in time.
With his arm trembling, he pivoted on his back foot and cocked his arm with pokeball in hand. The Bibarel was again face to face with Patrick. He threw the ball as quick and hard as possible. Its massive form illuminated red and began to shrink.
The ball dropped to the ground as Patrick scooped up his Shinx and made a dash for the forest clearing. Within two seconds the Bibarel emerged from the ball and rushed toward his prey. Patrick now in the forest began to zig zag through the trees. The monstrous clomps of the Bibarel began to dissipated. He had escaped, for now.
