chapter 4: Cadmus Island

After witnessing the countless battles in front of Him Richards took the chance and went further inside the Island Cadmus.

To cover more ground Richard brought out Shuppet giving it the order to find a place that was hidden, but could provide housing.

Richard wasn't sure if Shuppet understood, but went along with Shuppets grin and its call sounding as if Shuppet understood Richard.

While Shuppet looked for shelter Richard looked for food and to continue His surprise on this "Artificial" Island Richard found a piece of fruit that resembled a set of grapes.

But knew better since He was in a new world Richard had to rely on His Pokemon World knowledge and after scoping His memories He remembered that this fruit was called a Bulk Berry.

Bulk Berries were used to make a Pokemon seem more Beautiful with each bite. The Bulk Berry was also known for its dry taste.

Richard thought if it was a good idea to take the Berry and decided that it wouldn't do any harm and grabbed as many Bulk Berries and other berries.

He could find and place them in His pockets and once He ran out of room in His pants Richard ripped away a piece of His shirt off.

And tied it around making a small bag and used it to Grab more Berries.

At the end of that Shuppet's time was impeccable with finding its way back to Richards with a smile on its face.

After following Shuppet Richard found a large cave and felt happy seeing it. In response to His elevated mood Richard took out two Bulk Berries and gave them to Shuppet.

With two bites each. Both berries were gone and Shuppet gave a happy cry from the taste.

Richard was astonished at Shuppet's reaction to the Bulk Berry's flavor and decided to give it a try only to regret it tasting the dryness caused Richard's face to sour.

After spitting out the content of the Bulk Berry Shuppet looked at its trainer with a frown and left Him.

Richard didn't notice because He was coughing up the Bulk Berry He ate.

Thunk

'Oh' Richard looked up to see Shuppet drop something on His head. Richard looked down to see what it was only to be happy seeing a familiar fruit from His last life. A green Apple.

Richard grabbed it off the dirt ground. He was standing in not even bothering to clean it off and scarfed the Apple down like it was His last meal.

Burp

As soon as Richard finished the Apple Richard burped causing Shuppet to snicker a bit on the side.

Shuppet tried its best to hide the snicker, but Richard knew better and decided to play it off. Richard had asked Shuppet where he found the Apple and Shuppet brought Him to the area He was just at its just that the apples were in the highest parts of trees causing them to hardly be seen.

Richard couldn't help but hug Shuppet causing it to blush a bit at its trainer.

After stacking His hands full of Apples Richard brought all the food He collected into the Cave Shuppet found and started setting everything up as He could starting with a safe way of hiding His food in case someone came in to the cave.

Thankfully inside the Cave had several craters on some rocks making great hiding places. Once all the fruit was hidden Richard made a bed with a large leaf He stole from a tree using it as a blanket and grabbed a soft rock from the cave to use as a pillow.

Once Richard's Bed and Food Storage were set. Richard decided to train Shuppet a bit by looking at His stats only to be surprised.

"You're a girl?" Asked Richard who once again opened the Skills Prompt showed the Female Icon at the top left above the three skills Shuppet already had.

Shuppet blushed at Richard's words causing Him to feel awkward with referring to Her as a Him.

After that slight Embarrassment Richard began referring to Shuppet with Her proper Gender and began training in mainly Gunk shot on a tree since Trees couldn't be confused or hear Screeching.

After training Gunk Shot Shuppet became a natural at firing the Poison from its mouth at opponents, but Richard wasn't sure if Shuppet could handle a moving target just yet.

Ahhhhhh

Suddenly screaming could be heard from the south of both Shuppet and Richard. Richard ran towards the noise with Shuppet following pursuit.

Once the source of the noise was found Richard and Shuppet found a Pokemon punching Cadets under its trainers orders.

"Yeah get him Crabby!"

The Trainer ordering the Pokemon around was middleweight with brown hair and green eyes. The boy also had freckles on His face with them all on His cheeks.

Richard was confused because the Pokemon attacking wasn't a Crabby. This pokemon had two large fists in the shape of boxing gloves and also had two horns like antennas stuck together.

At first glance Richard knew what Pokemon this was and it wasn't a Crabby but a Crabrawler.

"Come on, Crabby punch 27 in the face!" Laughed the Cadet.

At the familiar name being called Richard looked at the Crabrawler about to hit 27 with a solid punch which if connected could lead to broken bones.

"Shuppet use Gunk shot?" Screamed Richard.

"Shupp!"

Shuppet responded to His trainer's cry and fired a purple substance from its mouth shooting at Crabrawler. Landing successfully on His eyes.

Once the Purple substance had hit the Crabrawler's eyes it stopped to rub out the poison only to fail with the poison already taking effect with a purple bubble to pop off the Crabrawler signaling He's poisoned.

While the Crabrawler was distracted by Shuppets attack Richard lifted 27's right arm on His Right shoulder taking Him away.

While Richard was getting away from the Crabrawler's trainer. That trainer threw a fit saying "Crabby why aren't you chasing them!?!?!?!"

After getting back to the cave Shuppet congratulated Shuppet on it's performance and asked If It could take guard outside the cave hiding and warn Him if the trainer came back.

"Shupp!"

Shuppet simply smiled and nodded leaving Richard with the injured 27 who had bruises and an injured leg.

With some quick thinking Richard grabbed the ripped piece of His shirt that He had used to carry the Bulk Berries and used the same cloth to tie 27's wound up.

During this process 27 asked "Why are you helping me?"

Richard simply answered "Cause you're the first guy I met here that I knew."
