Dragon University, Flight Campus

Laboratory Building D, exam correction room.

"What did these candidates write? They think Nosepass can master every attack move and become proficient in both physical and special attacks, like it's some kind of fortress."

"You're not wrong. Someone even suggested teaching Nosepass Fighting-type moves and combining them with Quick Attack. Nosepass can barely move a meter a year—it's slower than a snail! Quick Attack? Not in this lifetime. Whoever wrote that clearly doesn't know Nosepass at all."

"This is frying my brain. I need a break, and I still have to feed the Nosepass in the afternoon."

"Don't even mention it. I still have to run a magnetic field test I haven't started yet. I'll probably be stuck here until midnight."

A group of senior students in school uniforms grumbled as they marked exam papers.

But they only dared to complain quietly.

The one overseeing this exam and its review was their tutor, Theodore, the youngest professor at Dragon University, a Master Pokémon Breeder, and the leader of the Dragon Hall.

Theodore was sitting nearby.

He overheard them.

"You think that's wild? Someone wrote about crushing electromagnetic ore and sprinkling it on Babiri Berries and Chople Berries as food for Nosepass, claiming it could stimulate evolution through ultra-high-intensity electromagnetic fields. What even is that?"

"Hahaha, who comes up with this stuff?"

The exam correction room filled with laughter.

Theodore, sitting on the sofa and reading the latest issue of the *Pokémon Ultra Times*, raised his head slightly when he heard the mention of "Babiri Berry" and "ultra-intensity magnetic field."

"Bring that paper over here," he said.

The student holding the test paper quickly handed it to him.

Theodore took it, glanced over the writing, and slowly sat up straight, his brow furrowing deeper as he read.

"This person's skill level isn't great," the student began hesitantly. "They wrote another Breeder plan like they were just showing off. But the second plan is more standard. How many points should I give it, tutor?"

"Not great? Showing off?" Theodore scoffed, loosening his frown slightly. "The one who's lacking here is you. This candidate probably realized the first plan would go over your head, so they wrote a second, more traditional one to play it safe."

The student was taken aback, inwardly doubting there could be such a skilled candidate.

"Mark this paper, confirm their identity, and invite them to join my team once they're admitted," Theodore instructed, tossing the paper back.

The names on all the exams were hidden, otherwise he might have wanted to call this person in to meet them right away.

But no rush. If they had such insight into a niche Pokémon like Nosepass, getting into Dragon University shouldn't be an issue.

"Yes, tutor." The student took the paper and, after a moment, asked again, "And what about the score for this last question…?"

"Full marks," Theodore replied casually, rubbing his chin. Then he added, "Make sure to set up the lab's magnetic field earlier today, and increase the intensity by 50%."

With that, Theodore got up and left the room.

"Yes, tutor."

As soon as Theodore left, the students exchanged glances and then quickly crowded around.

"Come on, let's see that Breeder plan you couldn't figure out!"

"Get lost, get lost!"

Dragon University – Filght Campus, Battlefield No. 24.

"Junior, watch out! Even though I like your Ralts, I won't hold back in our Pokémon battle!" The senior's eyes were sharp, sparkling with determination.

"Ducklett, use Aerial Ace!"

The light blue duckling, with a heart-shaped tuft on its head, flapped its wings and swiftly ascended, diving down like an eagle targeting its prey.

"Nice speed," Chris couldn't help but admire. Ducklett was fast, clearly well-trained by the senior, and its level seemed high.

He raised his hand and commanded, "Ralts, use Confusion."

"Raaa~~" Ralts raised its small, delicate hand and pointed at the descending Ducklett. In an instant, an invisible psychic wave burst forth.

"Duuu~!" Ducklett froze mid-air, its body floating uncontrollably.

Ralts tilted its hand slightly downward.

"Boom!" Ducklett crashed to the ground like a cannonball, leaving a large one-meter crater in its wake.

"What a powerful Confusion! Your Ralts is amazing!" The senior's eyes gleamed even brighter, praising her opponent's skill despite her Pokémon being at a disadvantage.

Ducklett: ▌Д;)っ Am I your Pokémon, or is Ralts your Pokémon?!!

"But my Ducklett won't go down that easily!"

"Ducklett, use Water Gun!" The senior tried to switch tactics.

But Chris wasn't fazed.

"Keep using Confusion. If one shot isn't enough, then use two, until it can't stand anymore," he instructed Ralts calmly.

Ralts raised its hand again, and Confusion surged toward Ducklett.

Just as Ducklett was gathering water in its beak, it was hit mid-charge. The next second, it was lifted into the air, soaring over ten meters high before crashing back down.

"Boom!" The ground shook as Ducklett hit it hard, and the water it had been holding dribbled from its mouth, almost comically.

And this was just the beginning.

In front of the senior, Chris, and the referee, Ducklett was repeatedly lifted into the air, then slammed back down.

"Thud thud thud thud..."

Ducklett was tossed around like a broken sandbag.

The scene quickly became brutal.

Chris wiped sweat from his brow, realizing Ralts didn't seem to know how to hold back.

He might have liked the battle at first, but now...

"Ah!" The senior let out an excited cry, looking almost wild-eyed.

"It's so cute, but so vicious! I love it even more!"

Chris: ?

Are you really just following your instincts?!

"I knew it! The moment Ralts stepped onto the field, I was sure it would win!" She pointed at Ralts, proudly speaking to the referee.

The referee wiped his own sweat, thinking, *Please, big sister, you're the one losing here...*

He suddenly felt some sympathy for Ducklett.

Ducklett, who had lost the ability to battle: *Thank you. I've lost, but I won't be loving you anymore.*

"Ducklett is unable to battle. The winner is Ralts, and the match goes to Chris!" the referee announced, concluding the battle.
