Chapter 6: Viridian Cities Lady Saint
(Viridian City, Kanto Region, Pokémon World)

Cobalt and Acerola sat at a Table as Agatha poured them each a nice steaming cup of Hot Chocolate for them to drink.
''Giovanni is Kanto's Strongest Gym Leader, as such a lot of his challengers lose.'' Says Agatha.
''And all these Pokémon belonged to trainers who blamed them.'' Says Cobalt.
''Sadly yes, the Eevee who stole your food is among the oldest here, I guess you could say the first of the abandoned. But it acts as a leader amongst the Pokémon here.'' Says Agatha.
''Lady Agatha, my name is Acerola, I'm Nanu's Niece.'' Says Acerola.
''I remember Nanu, he and Giovanni started their journey together, but when Nanu's grandfather fell ill and his father exiled, Nanu had to leave Kanto and attempt to become Alola's Kahuna of Ula'ula Island. Without Nanu's Influence, Giovanni lost his way. Becoming Kanto's Strongest Gym Leader through battling mercilessly.'' Agatha says sadly.
''Why are you here Lady Agatha? And don't tell me your just visiting.'' Says Cobalt.
''My assistant contacted me and informed me that you were headed here. I contacted Nurse Joy and she informed me about the theft...and the effectiveness of your food.'' Says Agatha, the pause before the food causes Cobalt to narrow his eyes.
''What's your offer?'' Asks Cobalt, as he staples his fingers, the fact his hot chocolate is nestled between them is just a bonus.
''I understand you intend to market the Pokémon Food, if Samuel signs off on its properties, then I'd be willing to back you. In exchange you would need to supply the Pokémon Center here in Viridian City and this Sanctuary.'' Says Agatha.
''I'll challenge Pewter and Cerulean, then head to Vermillion. If you can get Professor Oak, the Cerulean Sisters, and Surge to endorse my food as well as endorse it yourself as well as the other Elite Four and help provide me the funds to start a company and pressure Oak to do the same, I will do more than what you're requesting.'' Says Cobalt.
''Meaning?'' Asks Agatha, slightly interested.
''Once the supply situation has settled and a regular distribution network has been established, I'll sell the Food to every major city Pokémon Center in Kanto at half the price, and if you can pressure the League to sanction Pokémon Sanctuaries in those Cities, then I'll supply them with that same food. But here's where you benefit, I'll still sell it commercially in Kanto, but the Pokémon Center's and Sanctuaries get it at half the Price.'' Says Cobalt.
''Cost. Sell them to the Pokémon Centers and Sanctuaries at Cost.'' Agatha bargains.
''I still need to make a profit. I'll meet you somewhere in the middle. Let's say...half price to the Pokémon Centers and a Quarter of the price to the Sanctuaries. I can't solely rely on the commercial markets now, can I?'' Asks Cobalt.
Agatha purses her lips as she thinks.
''If it helps, Ula'ula Island's Legendary Island Guardian Pokémon would happily protect the Berry Fields if Cobalt asked. Tapu Bulu is incredibly fond of Cobalt and his abilities give us an Alolan-Based source of berries.'' Acerola supplies.
''Don't forget Nina, she still owes me a couple favors. If I asked, she'd happily sell from her store and that gives us an Alolan Customer Base.'' Cobalt adds.
''I'll agree so long as you don't make Saffron City the regional head of your Kanto Distribution, Sabrina doesn't need the boost to her ego.'' Says Agatha.
''Not to worry Lady Agatha, I intended to make Vermillion City my main point of Distribution, with Cinnabar Island Being the Kanto supply networks main Hub. That Volcanic Ash should prove useful.'' Says Cobalt.
''Very well then, we've reached an accord.'' Says Agatha, but before she has fully outstretched her hand for Cobalt to Shake, Eevee jumps onto the table.
''Vee! Eevee!'' It speaks.
''It seems that Eevee wants a battle.'' Says Agatha.
''Agreed, Let's not disappoint it. Rockruff? You mind fighting this battle for me?'' Cobalt asks Rockruff.
''Ruff!'' Rockruff barked happily.

(POV Shift: Shadow the Eevee)

All its life, Shadow hadn't ever fully trusted humans, even the Pink one and old human who cared for her. Not since her first trainer hurt her and left her to die.
But something about this Trainer was different. His Inner Aura was far stronger than most of the humans Shadow had encountered over the years.
As an Eevee, Shadow knew how Important Aura was, too little meant that a Pokémon would be unable to either reach their full potential or evolve without the use of Aura Stones.
An excess of Aura meant that for a limited time before evolution, their abilities would be supercharged, but unless they'd been properly trained in Aura or burnt off a portion of the excess before Evolution, the blowback could cripple them.
Yet the last time Eevee saw this amount of Aura In a being was when it met that Darkrai. Why was this humans Aura as strong? Shadow needed to know, and the best way to do that was in battle.

(POV Shift: Cobalt)

Rockruff vs Eevee.
This was going to be a good battle.
The big question was just how skilled Eevee would be.
Hopefully Rockruff would have enough abilities and skills to take on the challenge Eevee would give.
This was a battle between Normal-Types so it wouldn't be a sprint battle but a marathon.
They'd need to make up the difference somehow, especially since Eevee had a larger advantage, since its many Eeveelutions meant it had a more diverse move-set and less weaknesses than Rockruff.

(POV Shift: Viridian Joy)

Joy was nervous, she'd looked into the Trainer who came and then went after Shadow. His father was a powerful trainer, and well respected among the Region. If push came to shove it could lead to a massive battle and even larger fallout.
Lady Agatha hadn't responded to her messages of warning, causing her no small amount of anxiety.
This could either be very bad or very good, but Lady Agatha's silence was causing her to lean towards the bad outcome.
Hopefully Lady Agatha could get back to her soon...

(POV Shift: Cobalt)

It was done, Eevee was defeated. Rockruff took a lot of damage, but his endurance won out in the end. Cobalt provided Eevee a potion and dome kf his food before turning to Agatha.
''Well, if there's nothing else, we'll be taking our leave. I want to get into Viridian Forest and get two more Pokémon before heading to Pewter City.'' Says Cobalt.
''We'll speak again.'' Says Agatha.
''Count on it.'' Cobalt agrees.
As he begins to leave he finds Eevee in his path.
''It seems Shadow wishes to go with you.'' Says Agatha.
''I'm not opposed to the idea, but can it keep up with my training standards. I accept strays true, but only the most dedicated. Are you up for it Shadow?'' Asks Cobalt.
''Eevee!'' It says nodding furiously.
''Very well then.'' Says Cobalt dropping a Pokéball and Eevee headbutts it, leaving itself get captured in the process.
''Welcome to the team Shadow, I'll do right by you, you have my word, promise.'' Cobalt promises in a low voice as he holds the Pokéball to his face.

''So that was Viridian Cities Lady Saint, huh?'' Asks Acerola.
''Yep, she really is quite the Saint. She certainly deserves the epithet. Come on Acerola, we'll stay the night and then head into Viridian Forest in the next morning.'' Says Cobalt.
''Cobalt? I'm thirsty.'' Says Acerola.
''Let's get into the room first.'' Says Cobalt as he begins to stiffen.
''I don't know if I can wait that long.'' Acerola says, with light drawn out moan.
''I'm not getting arrested again Acerola.'' Cobalt says, putting his foot down.
''Fine.'' Says Acerola, giving Cobalt a cute pout, even though her eyes are smokey with lust and desire.
