Johns Pokémon had excellent improvements over the last half a year. His Bagon and Ralts have become Medium Iron-stage Pokémon. All his other Pokémon, but one, are not far from reaching Iron-stage. The only one that is Low Iron-stage is the Weedle that has yellow potential.
These are the status of all his pokemon.

All the other Pokémon got most of their old moves up to Intermediate Stage while the new ones were still at Novice stage.
As Ralts, Bagon and the Weedle have hit the iron stage, John has started to train them properly. They had weights attached to them and then made to race against one another for 3 hour. After that they practise their moves for 3 hours, have a 1 hour break and then have battles for 3 hours.
Though it is a lot of work, they had never stopped training due to the results they have seen. They have gotten much stronger and can use their moves more often with less strain then what they use to have.
Seeing the results that Ralt's, Bagon and Weedle have been getting after they hit the Iron-stage, the other Pokémon have been training even harder.
John was not slacking either while his Pokémon were training. He was trying to create his own potions and Pokéballs with the materials he found while walking in the city.
Although all the instructors and children in his unit have given up on him and told him to just stop, he never listened to them because they don't even know what his starter Pokémon is. He never returned to the training field as he thought it would be a waste of time.
After the day he got rejected by the leader and seeing that he never returned back there, the children in the group have looked down on him even more over the last 6 months.
Although there were a few challenges against him to see what his starter Pokémon was, John never accept them. While his starter Pokémon were at the Iron-stage, none of the children in his unit have got any Pokémon even near the Low Iron-stage.
After John didn't accept 10 challenges over 2 months, people just gave up and didn't challenge him anymore. He was thankful of that due to how annoying it was.
What was just told to his unit today is that they are going to go outside the walls as soon as the first year of training is over. This shocked all the children and they have started to train their Pokémon even more.
As soon as John heard about it he was excited. He still had 1 Pokéball left after catching Ralts and Bagon. If things were successful, he could catch another good Pokémon when the first year of training is over.
After the notice was made, no one but John was able to sleep that night.
The next morning John was shaken awake by a green haired kid with glasses.
