Chapter 6

Walking into the company , Racheal went straight to her office but was informed that the manager wanted to see her. She was the assistant manager of the company and she was doing well, infact the manager would retire soon and she'll take over his place. She went straight to the manager office, knocked on the door and when she got the reply 'come in' she came in and saw him scribing something on a piece of paper. "Good morning,sir"she greeted the man who was in his mid fifties. The man finally looked up and when he saw her,he smiled.

"Miss Iris, congratulations".

"On what sir"she said smiling too. Why was he congratulating her when she had not been promoted.

"Well,you see, you've been transferred to the headquarters of this company as it manager". Words couldn't express how happy Iris was, finally,she had finally become a manager.

"Oh my gosh,you mean the headquarters".

"Yes".

"As it manager".

"Yes".

"That means my salary has increased".that was the only thing in her mind, MONEY.

"Absolutely".

"Wow,I feel so good,but why did I get transferred?".

"I don't know, I thought you knew".

"No I don't,but still, I'm so grateful,when should I resume"."

About that, your starting today and you'll be late if you don't get there before before 12".

"12, but this is 8:00"she shouted.

"Yes".

"Thank you, I'll clear my desk on Saturday"she said and ran out immediately.To get to the headquarters it will take like 3 hours using the normal route but lucky her,she knew some short cut so she had no difficulty getting there. She got there 1hour 30minutes early and she was impressed at her herself. She walked into the office and talked to the secretary. She was directed to the ex manager office who was packing her things,she just got retired.

"Good day ma".

"Oh hey dear,you must be the new manager".

"Yes ma".

"That's good, congratulations,you came early,well you'll have to start working immediately,you know that we take our work seriously here".she said in a serious tone.

"Yes mam,I know about that".

"So you have to meet the CEO, he's actually waiting for you".

"Oh, thank you "she said still standing.

"What are you still waiting for,get going,you know his office,right?".

"Yes ma,I do,the top floor,I'll use the elevator".

"Okay, that's good".

Racheal nervously knocked the door with the word CEO boldly written on it,but nobody's answered.She knocked again thrice but no one answered so she entered without permission. She saw two people back since they were not facing the door,one was sitting on the table while the other was sitting on the chair which she guessed was the CEO.

"Good morning sir"she greeted and that was when the person sitting on the table turned to look at her,it was Will,her brother-in-law cousin. If that was Will then the person sitting on the chair is.
