The day has come, the boy marched out of the city, on his left there's Halius and on the right, there's Abelard. It was awkward between him and the mini guy, but they have no other choice.
The boy and the mini guy found something earlier, just about 3 minutes ago. That time, Abel approached Halius, and they walked toward the outer layer of the city, which was liberated from orcs.
And suddenly, Abelard appears right In front of the boy, Abel asks, "Aren't you mad at me? Why are you here though? Suddenly want to help me or something?"
Abelard's eyebrows were furrowed, he was agitated, angry and confused at the same time, he then responds to Abel, "I was in the bedroom and just closed my eyes for a few seconds, then I got here"
The boy has a grin on his face and stated, "I already know this is going to happen, we can't be separated for more than some distance, need to count it when I got back, you just focus on helping me okay?"
The mini guy was upset. He didn't say a word and they continue on their way, leaving the city. That was all that happens just 3 minutes ago, and now they are standing right outside of the city gate.
The massacre is visible, death orcs and humans everywhere, weapons, blood and heads can be seen on the ground. Even from where they stand, they can smell all the rotten smell of those dead bodies.
Halius faces the other direction and threw up while doing so. He raised his right hand to signal for Abel to stop and stop he did, Abel was a little worried about him "Hey dude, are you okay?"
Halius let it all out and wipe his mouth his cloth on the wrist, he then turns to the boy and said, "Yea, I'm okay, the smell is just too nasty, I'm sure you can smell it as well as me"
The boy gave him a light nod and Halius continues, "We should get going soon and find the body of my father before it rots. Let's go, I have a feeling if we go north we should be able to find it"
Abel complied, and they found themselves barely able to walk without touching a dead body. But it doesn't matter, they continue on their way and soon found a group of player, just like Abel, fighting an orc.
Halius was energetic for a few seconds. He told Abel, "So, we are going to help them and proceed?"
The boy grabs Halius's head and makes it face toward him, he then shakes his head and whisper, "Don't, I can feel something very suspicious, let's just wait here and then we continue"
The boy had no choice but to comply with Abel's word. He finds himself behind a wagon in a few seconds. While he was sitting on the ground contemplating, Abel, on the other hand, popped his head and examines the group of players.
Words about it came out of his mouth, "Well, weird that they have red names… Wait, isn't that, oh yeah, I actually forgot, they are probably PKers that kills newbie, we really can't fight them with only two of us"
Halius that is right beside him heard what he said and asked him, "Hey Abelard, are you sure you don't want to help them? I mean, they are fighting orcs, what are PKers anyway"
The boy sat down at the ground and let out a sigh before answering to that question, "They are bothersome people that can't play this game properly and kill others players"
Halius starts to understand about them, but perhaps he was too overconfident of himself, "Can't we just kill those evil guys? I'm sure you can pull it. We made a great team at Darion's house fighting an orc"
Abel didn't know what to answer because he got no idea what happens before he took Abelard's body. But he shakes his head, pretending to know about it, "No, I don't think so. An orc is different from a player"
Once again, Halius got no choice but complied to Abel's words. They waited for a few minutes. Abel popped his head to do recon and doesn't seem to find them anywhere near the same place.
He whispers to Halius that is now bored of a few minutes wait, "Hey, looks like they are gone, should we move now? Maybe we can slip by them and quickly finish this question"
The boy cheered up once he heard these, and soon they continue on their way to the north. They could see the other groups of player raising eyebrows and staring at Abel and Halius as they make their way.
But they couldn't care less. Their mission is a top priority, but it doesn't take long for them to reach the outskirt of the northern forest. They continued their way north because Halius still feels that the body of his father is in that direction.
Abel let out a few sighs. Clearly, their efforts didn't give them a single fruit or even clue for it. But they continue on their way, at least that's what Abel does before he got impatient and complains.
"Jeez, how long are we going to walk, do you know how long we have walked since the city gate? Can't we try our luck at other places?" Halius let out a loud sigh. Seems like he himself has almost given up.
"I know that we haven't found him, but I feel like he would be at the lands of the elves. Besides, didn't you have something to deal with the elves?" This caught his attention, he began asking Abelard.
'What did you do before I came here, looks like your life is full of adventures… well, save the story for later, I'll go do this mission first' Abelard appears out of nowhere, gives him a slight nod and then disappears.
The 2 boys continue on their journey to the north and it wasn't long before they found a river. The calm stream of the river continues to flow as the birds chirping in the woods. It all seems like it calming, but there's another sound.
Crunch crunch
The sound is much louder than other natural sounds, or perhaps it's not even natural? Well, Abel could clearly hear the sound and he wanders about it, "That sound is very familiar… What is it though?"
He suddenly jumps to Halius and covered his mouth with his hand and they hide behind a big tree. Just at the other side of the tree can be seen as a group of players, their red names hovering above their head.
Abel gritted his teeth, the two of them are confused at this point, he whispers to Halius, "Don't talk, they are near us, the PKers, we might need to fight our way against them"
Both of them are obviously scared of the group, but at that moment, they couldn't do anything. Knowing this, Abel gritted his teeth once more, this time even harder than before.
He soon bites his nail, desperately forcing his mind to form a plan. All he could think is, 'Fight them head-on, I'm sure you can win, not like you going to die if you lose'
And that's the reason why he grabs a sword from the inventory and pushed Halius away. This obviously made a sound that eventually attracted the PKers, Halius looks at him with teary eyes.
The boy gritted his teeth before screaming curses and he soon found himself being charged by the PKers. They passed the tree without having any suspicion this is actually a trap by Abel.
Even before the PKers could attack Halius, that is now crying while screaming curses. Abel, charged toward them, swinging his sword, killing one of the men, he then stabs another person at the stomach just near the man he just killed.
It doesn't take long for his sword to impale the second last person with his sword. The man fell to the ground as he pulls the sword from the man's body. He was looking at it and spat at it once.
But what he doesn't notice is the last man of the group is actually charging toward him. He lifted his sword up to the air and was about to drop it and deal a devastating blow to the boy.
"Argh!" Blood spurting out from his mouth before he could even drop his sword to kill the boy. Halis struck his sword to the man, straight killing him, the man drops to the ground, with his sword still stuck on his body.
He spat at the body he just killed and looked at it, the 2 boys look toward all the massacre Abel has made. The blue light covered them and soon all the bodies disappear from their spots.
They both looked at each other and smiled for a bit, Abel let out a little: "Sorry" but is quickly cut off by a screaming voice coming from the direction behind them.
"Who are the humans that dare to cause troubles in the lands of the elves!?" The two bots were shocked by these sudden voices. They stood there without moving with their heads slightly facing each other.
Thock!
An arrow barely misses between them, a warm welcome indeed.
