"Black magician attack!" Pandora exclaimed as he waved his hand. "Dark magic!"

The crimson-clad black magician soared into the air, his green wand swirling through the atmosphere. Waves of magical power surged from the staff's tip, transforming into a dense, black mist that condensed into a razor-sharp bayonet. Crackling with intertwined electric currents, it hurtled toward the opposing field.

"Uh..."

You Yu tried to shield himself with his hand, but the blow to his health was unavoidable. The pain forced him to involuntarily kneel on the ground, his body drenched in sweat, feeling as though he had just completed a marathon.

"It seems your just weak and incompetent," Pandora said, shaking his head. "I don't know how a duelist like you obtained a duel plate, but encountering me is the most unfortunate event in your career. It appears that your dueling career is about to meet its end."

He retrieved another card from his hand and inserted it into the demon trap area of the duel board.

"I place a card on the field, and my turn ends."

You Yu remained on the ground, his breathing ragged and labored.

Across the field stood a Black Magician with an attack power of up to 2500. While it may not sound excessively high, for You Yu, with an deck with limited firepower, it presented an insurmountable obstacle.

Furthermore, his side of the field was now empty, his health diminished to 1500, while Pandora remained virtually unscathed. Though it still fell short of meeting the conditions for a lockout, according to Yu-Gi-Oh rules, the situation was disadvantageous enough.

However, in this seemingly hopeless predicament, You Yu couldn't help but smile.

At this moment, his strategy was already half successful.

He knew very well like any other sane person, that defeating Pandora with his initial deck from this particular set was nearly impossible. While he had mentally prepared himself for failure, the idea of going into battle unprepared was out of the question.

Once the trigger conditions were met, the player could activate the skill "Destiny Draw" when drawing the next card. They could select and draw a predetermined "Destiny Card" they had set in their deck beforehand.

It is crucial to note that this skill could only draw cards preselected by the player. Therefore, when choosing their destiny card players typically opted for versatile and powerful cards capable of turning the tables in most dire situations.

One such card was Hanno's powerful "trap card"—Sacred Shield-Mirror Power. It would obliterate all face-up attack monsters on the opponent's field when they declared an attack.

However, cards of that caliber were considered top-rarity and were certainly absent from You Yu's initial deck.

Instead, he had chosen another card, a strategic card specially prepared for this task.

"Draw a card!" You Yu exclaimed, briefly glancing at the card before adding it to his hand.

"I summon Elemental Hero Hot Girl!" he announced. A ball of flames erupted in the arena, and a tall, fiery-haired heroine burst onto the scene.

" You're choosing to attack instead of strengthening your defense?" Pandora began to mockingly analyze.

"If I don't attack, how will I wipe that smug look off your face?" You Yu retorted.

Pandora smirked, then pressed a button on the duel board.

"Although I don't know what you're planning... at this moment, I activate my Magic Card—Wave to the Darkness!"

One of Pandora's face-down cards on the field rose, revealing a green Magic Card. However, there was no quick-play symbol beside its text.

Nani? Activating a Magic Card during the opponent's turn?

According to the orthodox rules of Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic Cards could only be activated during the main phase of the player's turn, with only Quick-Play Magic Cards being exceptions, allowing activation during the opponent's turn.

Oh, wait, this is the Yu-Gi-Oh, DM era. My apologies.

In the DM animation, Seto Kaiba can also initiate brainwashing and heart transformation during the battle phase of the opponent's turn.

A thick, black cloud began to form over the field, accompanied by crimson lightning. From within the depths of the cloud, the skeletal claw of a demon emerged and snatched the hot-tempered Elemental Hero on You Yu's field, dragging her into the darkness.

You Yu pondered for a moment, then inserted a card into the magic trap area of the duel plate.

"I also place a card and end my turn."

"Facing my Black Magician, ordinary duelists cannot hope to defeat me, is just common sense" Pandora taunted.

"It's my turn! And this will be your final turn too!" Pandora declared, his demeanor becoming increasingly ethereal.

"The power of the Ultimate Sorcerer!" He held up the card he had just drawn. "Witness the summoning of the most advanced magician's powerful card!"

"What I activate is the Magic Card—Curtain of Black Magic!"

A specter of pale white bones materialized on the field, a six-pointed star emblazoned on its chest. Beneath its skeletal frame, a dark curtain billowed silently.

"This card requires sacrificing half my LP, but it allows me to Special Summon a 'Black Magician' from my deck! Appear, Black Magician!"

The bony figure extended its emaciated arm, parting the curtain beneath it. A crimson-clad figure gracefully leaped out and landed on the field, assuming a half-crouching position.

You Yu was taken aback. "Black Magician... Now two of them!?"

"Hahaha, indeed! In my deck, there are three top-rarity cards like the Black Magician!" Pandora continued to swell with pride. "Cards are the lifeblood of a duelist, and this is the greatest distinction between me and ordinary duelists like you!"

"Come forth, Black Magician! Unleash your dark magic!"

The combined attack power of the two Black Magicians reached 5000, and You Yu's field had no monsters to serve as a barrier.

Yet, instead of panicking, a victorious smile adorned his face. He even felt inclined to say, "That's not true," to enhance the sense of dramatic fashion. But let's forget that he's not the protagonist.

"Don't worry," You Yu raised his head, offering a cryptic smile to Pandora. "Before your Black Magicians can attack, I will activate this card..."

Note: Dang did the author make Pandora VERY arrogant, I had to remove many dialogues and it still wasn't enough, haha..
