Chapter 44: I’m Rich and your probably Poor

HAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAAH

After a night of intense bidding, Yuyu finally managed to sell the "Chainsaw Insect" to President Tan for a whopping 50 million!!. HAHAHA. IM RICH. It seemed that the president's reputation or the price itself had pushed the two managers to their psychological limit, causing them to withdraw from the bidding war and concede the "four-star monster with the world's highest attack power" to President Tan.

President Tan was in high spirits, feeling as though he had earned a fortune with the 50 million he spent on the card. Without hesitation, he immediately issued a check for the full amount to Yuyu, ensuring there were no delays with the payments.

As the seller, Yuyu couldn't help but feel ecstatic. Throughout the entire process, he simply sat there silently, after placing the chainsaw insect, and the transaction swiftly reached 50 million.

Truly a remarkable sell.

Selling an Chainsaw Insect for 50 million would undoubtedly leave other players envious. However, aside from its high attack power, the creature had no other advantages. It came with enormous side effects and was considered a broken card in the game's rating system. Selling such a card for 50 million? That would be unimaginable, and even if somehow done so, a scam.

Yuyu didn't see himself as a profiteer at all. He had said nothing throughout the entire process and didn't bother to manipulate or deceive buyers into purchasing it. He merely presented the card and sat beside it, allowing the buyers to raise the price on their own. His involvement was minimal.

In fact, Yuyu would even regarded the 50 million from President Tan as a welcome gift or a token of appreciation.

What made the situation even more interesting was that President Tan handed the fifty million to Yuyu, patting him on the shoulder solemnly. He stated that if Yuyu ever encountered any problems in the organization or in life, he could rely on the president for assistance. It was as if President Tan owed him a favor, despite being the one who paid the money.

Yuyu felt slightly embarrassed receiving the money.

It was clear that Yuyu had captured the attention of everyone present, including the president. His formidable dark power, exceptional duel techniques, and possession of rare and powerful cards hinted at a strong background that was hard to overlook.

With the auction coming to an end, the storm of the night was finally settling. It was getting late, and Yuyu bid farewell to his newfound friends and headed back to the card shop where he resided.

In truth, Yuyu had more cards to sell. Over the past half month, he had tirelessly opened the system card pool, obtaining numerous four-star cards with high attack stats. Additionally, there were some magic and trap cards that may not be useful to players but could pique the interest of NPCs, allowing for a good sale.

However, following the principle of rarity and value, Yuyu decided not to flood the market with these cards all at once. An occasional reveal of something like the Chainsaw Insect would continue to astonish potential buyers. If he were to unearth an Chai- ok getting to tired of calling it that over and over again, as you also might be from reading it, let's call it bug. But anyways if he were to unearth a card like the bug every week, it's price would undoubtedly plummet, potentially causing the initial bidders to feel deceived.

He would take things as they came. Tonight, earning 50 million from a single card was a considerable gain.

He planned to open 'some' packs later on with this money.

Additionally, there were some cards in the DM world, he intended to keep an eye out for but hadn't had the chance to open yet. In later generations of Yu-Gi-Oh!, these cards were either completely banned or restricted due to their overpowering abilities that disrupted the game environment. However, during this era, many duelists didn't consider them particularly formidable, resulting in their low popularity.

In the current setting, these cards were only classified as N or R rarity, with limited demand. And in case he came across a rare card while opening a pack that he had no use of, he could sell it back in the Nightcrawler World. Making it so he made profits either way, big brain move. Of course, the probability of getting a valuable card was low.

Even after opening consecutive packs Yuyu suspected it would take a while before he came across a rare card.

Early the next morning, China stared in disbelief at the stack of banknotes that Yuyu had handed over to her, which was his debt to her from last time. Her face was filled with confusion as she questioned, "Isn't it too early for your first month's salary to be paid?"

"Yes," Yuyu confirmed with a nod.

"Then how did you..." China began, her voice trailing off.

"I sold the rare cards I opened last time," Yuyu explained with a smile. "Rare cards can fetch high prices, and since I don't need them, it seemed like a good opportunity to make some money."

"Oh," China responded, accepting the explanation. As she put away the money, she whispered, "I thought you were doing something strange at night to earn money..."

Yuyu's face darkened.

What is this girl trying to get at?

But there's no avoiding it. After all, Yuyu had gone out and hanged out with some peculiar unique guys in the middle of the night.

And especially after those weird guys(The players) who visited the store looking for Yuyu last time—China had weird yet understandable thoughts taking shape in her mind.

China believed her concerns were justified. After a while, she went into the house.

With no customers at the moment, Yuyu was left alone behind the counter. He grabbed a stack of card holders and prepared to open a pack.

After all, he had some lots of money now, so why not indulge in opening a few packs of cards when he had nothing else to do?

...However, after a dozen consecutive openings, luck seemed to abandon him. None of the cards he desired appeared.

But it didn't bother him much. A dozen consecutive openings was a minor setback, and Yuyu wasn't bothered by it….for sure.

He decided to grab a few more packs to give it another try when someone entered the store.

Yuyu momentarily put down the card holders and said, "Welcome."

He looked up and was surprised to see an uncle standing before him. The uncle had a gray beard, sunglasses, a red short-sleeved shirt, knee-length shorts, and flip-flops. He seemed to have just returned from a summer beach outing.

The uncle didn't appear to be here for shopping. He didn't even seem interested in purchasing anything.

The uncle scrutinized Yuyu with a perplexed expression before nodding repeatedly. "Well, it's fine. This is good."

Yuyu blinked in confusion. "Sir, could you please speak more clearly? What can I assist you with?"

Note:" Might upload an extra chapter today as a bonus for reaching 10 reviews, finally! I wonder if I should set a goal where each review equals one additional bonus chapter. It doesn't seem like too much of a pressure considering this fanfic doesn't receive reviews very often, so should be easy to keep up.
