Interested In His Father's Company

Drake had already started preparing the house for Jessica's sake. He wanted everything to be picture perfect for her before she moved in with him. He doesn't want her to dislike anything that she will set her eyes on in the house, but instead to be drawn closer to it. Even though she will be moving in with him next week, he saw it as tomorrow.

As he sat in his office going through some documents, his phone lit up and he saw an unknown number calling. He became anxious of who it might be, but as an endowed man, it could be a threat. He called Santo into his office and handed the phone to him to answer the call.

He waited patiently as Santo kept objecting to the other number and kept yelling "WHO THE HELL IS THIS". but was just hanged up at the end. Drake noticed some sort of fret and anger on Santo's face then frowned.

"Who was it?".

".I don't know Boss, all he kept doing was laughing". he said silently.

"Hahaha, I don't understand this Santo. I haven't offended anyone so don't take it too seriously. In fact, I am well guarded everywhere I go so you don't need to worry, okay friend". Drake said, placing his hand on Santo's shoulder.

"But boss…".

Drake sighed "No boss. Just forget about it. I have a meeting to attend to with that annoying brother of my wife, so leave me alone to prepare". he commanded.

"Yes Boss". Saying so, he bowed and then left the office.

Eduardo drove eastwards as he sang happily because he was going to meet Carissa once again. His driver could see how his face lighted with excitement as they reached their destination. Without even waiting for help, he got out of the car and walked towards the gate to open it only to see a for sale sign plastered on it.

His face suddenly changed and he hoped that they still lived there. He knocked on the gate and waited patiently for someone to open it up but no one did. He banged it much louder a few times but still got no answer.

"They moved out okay, now if you would please stop disturbing me, I am reading a graphic here". yelled an old man sitting at his porch which looked like it had never been swept before. He would have burst out on him by now if he wasn't an old man, but remained calm.

Eduardo, for the first time, noticed that the community stinked as rubbish was gathered almost everywhere. He walked towards the car as his guard held it open for him, sat in and they drove away irritated as he knew he was going back to A, which was to look for her new location once again.

"What about the other Cargo ships, what were they bought for". Drake asked, getting irritated.

"Oh yes. I told them to have a break for a while, since I knew you could get new people to replace them in a second". Raphael said sarcastically trying to get to Drake, but saw nothing but an annoyed affection on his face.

For the past few weeks, Drake has noticed that Raphael was disgusted in him for no reason. He would object whenever they were at a board meeting if Drake suggests something that could help both companies. At first, he never cared but as time went on, anger began to fill him.

He instantly knew that Raphael was against his own father's decisions about their company. Maybe Raphael was just interested in the company, or maybe annoyed that he impregnated his sister. Even though he knew Raphael doesn't like Jessica, he never thought he would have a problem with him.

After the meeting, he left for home as he was very tired. He felt that all the strength in him had been drained out of him. He felt weak and needed some rest but before that, he would ensure that his family was safe before thinking of himself. As he made his way to the parking lot where his guards were waiting for him excluding Santo who was trailing from behind, he heard his name being called by a voice which seemed familiar.

Santo quickly drew his gun ready for action before he noticed a woman walking towards them. He placed the gun back into its pocket staring at her.

"It's so nice to see you again". Victoria said as she stroked towards him, and without warning, enveloped him in a tight hug.

Raphael who just walked out from the door caught sight of this and gave a wicked smile. He quickly drew out his phone and took a photo of the two who were in a tight hug. "This would be the best way to start with my breakup plan". He said walking away before they noticed him.

Drake was dumb folded and within a flash, pulled himself out of the hug with no expression at all on his face.

"Victoria, what are you doing here". he asked coldly.

"I came to pay a visit to you and thought if we could, at least, go out and have some fun you know". She said excitedly. He noticed that even though he spoke to her harshly, she still had a smile on her face.

Shrugging he said "Sorry to disappoint you Vic, but I have some important matters to deal with, so maybe next time".

"Uhm, no problem with me".

"Okay, goodbye". he said and walked away without waiting for her reply. He didn't care what she would think about him after this, but all he wants is to keep her away from him. Deep down, he could sense it that she was interested in him because of his money, but nothing else.

Jessica was in her room going through some magazines her friend Amanda brought for her. As a fashion Illustrator, she didn't want to miss any new updates. She was so engrossed in the magazine she didn't notice that Amanda kept looking at her. Raising her head and meeting her friend's gaze, she sighed.

"Is there anything you want to say"

"Yes.." she got interrupted by Jessica's phone which flashed as a sign of notification. Jessica picked it up to check what it was only to be taken aback by what was on her phone. A picture of Drake hugging another woman, and not just any woman, but the one they encountered at the mall.
