Chapter 22 The Class Began

Exactly eight o'clock in the morning, the English class of Professor Kevin Mac began. He was in the late 40s as Elle thought. He instructed the students to introduce themselves by telling their names, age, the school they came from, also the achievements they received and their hobbies too as soon as Professor Kevin Mac finished the class attendance. The game started on the front left facing the white board. So it was a clockwise movement. "I'll be after Karen," Elle thought. She listened carefully to her classmates' speech. She wanted to know them because they were going to spend five months together which was the first semester of the year. Karen Lee was done her turn, Elle stood up and said confidently, "My name is Elle Smith, I'm still 17 years old this time. I just graduated from Phoenix High as Valedictorian and I like to write, sing and travel. She glanced at her Professor and she could tell by the way he looked at her, he was surprised. She did not know why but she did not care. She just followed the given instruction. She sat down and it was Andrew's turn until the last person seated on the right next door. "Wow! I'm the only one here who is a Valedictorian and the rest are in Achievers and others are with High Honors." Elle thought. "Maybe that's why Professor Kevin Mac's reaction was like that," Elle thought again.

"Wow wow wow! I'm surprised about your introductions. All of you have better achievements. Congratulations to all of you, class!" Professor Kevin Lee said, smiling. He looked at the whole class then his last gaze was with Elle. Elle was not comfortable. But she just remained calm and quiet. Professor Kevin Lee gave them the classroom rules. Late and talking were not allowed in his class. He would consider absences if there was emergency. The bell rang and, "Goodbye class. See you all tomorrow." Professor Kevin Mac said, smiling. The students got out of their classroom. Andrew checked his schedule and it was their vacant time for one hour. "Library?" Elle suggested. "Can I go with you, guys?" Karen asked, smiling. "Sure Karen," Elle replied, smiling too. Karen's high school friends transferred to other schools, few of them went out of the city to study because they passed the college scholarships. That was the reason why Karen was the only one left in Phoenix University among her friends. It was fine for Elle at least she would have a new friend to hang out with. The three of them went to the Library, also in the Az building.
