YOU CAN RUN, BUT THE DEVIL WILL ALWAYS CATCH UP

Phantasy sat in the car and did not bother with the driver who made small talks to make her feel at ease. After trying to get her to talk for some time but failed, the japanese man sitting beside him sent him a glare.

Phantasy briefly looked at the man and at her phone. Her parents were probably worried to death right now. Their only child has been taken captive by the devil. But why was she feeling sad that she wasn't being kept anymore?

"Mr Kung Fu, what happened to the first Mr Kung Fu yesterday?"

The Japanese man who had just being named Kung Fu glanced into the mirror and could not ignore her blue curious eyes. "His team has been disbanded."

She nodded her head like she understood. "So where is he now?"

The impatient man placed a hand on his sword and replied. "Back at the base in Japan."

"Oh so you are from Japan " when she said this, she wished she could take back what she just said. Was it not obvious to her that he was from Japan?

The japanese man whispered some words which she only heard "ska" at the end of what he said before he turned around to give her a dead look and say. "Yes Miss, we are from Japan."

She wanted to probe further has to why he hired security from Japan when her phone rang. The caller was her mom. She took a glance at the cloud before swiping the accept button. "Mom let me explain..."

A frail voice responded into her ears. "My dear, close your eyes."

A frown formed on her face and the japanese man glanced at her. "Mom..." the person didnt sound very much like her mother.

"Close your eyes and dont look. Close them.." there was a few seconds silence and she could hear the woman gasping before she exclaimed again. "Close them now!"

Phantasy did not know why but she quickly closed her eyes and heard a colliding sound. The car turned around and unbalanced, it fell on it side, her waist hitting the door with a great force. A loud crash came from behind making Phantasy fly over to the drivers seat, her head hitting the dash board with a force that made he or unconscious and warn liquid trailed down the side of her face. The booming thunder, struck the car, hitting the Japanese man, who quickly used his body to cover Phantasy, taking most of the impact of the strike.

Phantasy hands dangled by her side, her phone long fallen into the back seat, screen cracked and call still on.

A frail voice sounded from the phone and Phantasy in her unconscious state could still miraculously hear it. "Stay away from him and be happy my dear."

In her closed eyes, she saw a silhouette of a man. Big and burly with legs that were long walking towards her. She did not see the face but she knew he had a smirk on his face. The darkness that surrounded the man was too strong for her to make anything of his face. She was a flicker of light that he extend his hand to catch. Fearfully, she felt herself running away, feets padding on moist soil and cold breeze travelled to her. They seemed to be at a beach but she could not tell the difference between the land and the deep water. Phantasy ran and looked back only to see the man getting closer. The closer he got, the more her shining dress seemed to fade and darken.

Quickly, she sprinted in another direction and felt herself diving into salty water. Phantasy struggled to swim but her body was tired and she could only succumb to drowning in the water.

Her dark lashes shut tightly and a lone tear escaped her eyes slipping into the salty water.

"You can run, but the devil will always catch up."

Nicholas stared at his phone for seconds, awaiting the message from the Special forces captain. His hands that were resting on the chair gradually became heavy to the point where he could no longer remove them. He shot his eyes around when he felt that someone or something had decsened into the room but he could not see a thing.

Thunders boomed outside the window almost causing his ears to hurt and everywhere turned dark. The lights that were originally on began to flicker and finally turned off. He tried to stand from the chair but could not.

"Must it always be you My Lord?" a feminine voice asked and he could smell the scent getting closer. A hand that was somewhat frozen landed on his temple rubbing it slowly and Nicholas immediately wanted to turn away like he knew something would happen if the hand were to remain there for too long.

"Must it always be you?" The question this time was filled with a wickedness she felt himself familiar with. The frozen hand moved to cover one of his eyes and whispered into his ears.

"Stay away from Phantasy, you low-life!"

He wanted to frown but his face had no expression as if it was frozen and as his hands felt normal he slipped onto a world he did not know of.

In this world, his feet were padding on soft moist water and a light was ahead of him. A light in form of a woman. He squinted his eyes and extended his arm to catch the light but it was quite far ahead. His feets moved on their own and he rushed after the light as if his life depended on it. And truly at that moment, he felt as if his life depended on it.

The light looked back and ran as fast as it could and he charges after it. After a while, it turned in another direction diving into the sea and although he wanted to save it, it was too late. His knees that were already deep into the water felt soft and his heart pounded. A sad feminine face floated on the surface before it sunk deeper.

Out of his reach.

I made a mistake with the chapter arrangement. this is the real chapter 19. thank you^.^
