The panicked shout of Xiurong prompted Su Meiyao to examine her. After a brief pause, she put a finger on her lips and said, "so is he your lover?"
Xiurong immediately had a troubled expression on her visage.
"If no, then you don't need to worry." It looked like she was having quite some fun playing with us.
"Sister..." Xiurong could only seek help from Zongying.
With a sigh, Zongying grunted. "Senior Meiyao, are you going to show us the weapon or do I have to find different store?"
Like a little girl, Meiyao twisted her mouth in protest, but it only made her look more alluring. "So cold. You only remember me when you have some work." After that she stood straight, no longer leaning towards me and gestured us to follow her.
"What kind of weapon do you use?" On a floating platform which worked as a lift, Meiyao asked.
"Long sword."
"Judging by your height, that's a good choice."
"So... are you a Weapon Master too?" Looking at those slim unblemished arms, I couldn't help but ask.
Weapon Master are people who can at least create Mortal-Tier Weapons, they are put on the same pedestal as Mortal-Tier Alchemists. Same as Alchemists, Weapon Masters were divided into three major tiers: Mortal, Immortal, God. And then further into 10 stars.
"Oh my! You seem to look down on women." Raising her arms in air, she fisted it, then looked towards me and smiled charmingly. "This slim arm contain quite some punch. Wanna try?"
My eyebrows jumped but I didn't let the small smile slip from my face. "Maybe some other day."
This East Merchant City was the gathering of actual monsters. It wasn't for just any reason that Zongying decided to escort her sister. And she called this person senior, it means she is definitely stronger than Immortal King. I don't want to die so early.
"Humph. Everyone's rejecting me today." She pouted and turned her face away. "Let me tell you, your big sister is a 1 Star God-Tier Weapon Master."
"What? Then you are a God?" Only people who entered Immortal Realm could create Immortal-Tier weapons and pills, same for God-Tiers.
"Heehee. You seem really interested in this little girl?" She suddenly blew an air of warm fragrance near me. Xiurong was already gritting her teeth, loud enough for us to hear it.
"N-not really." I somehow got my words out, her captivating actions really are dreadful. The way she talks and acts, it's like she had lived a life full of debauchery. Yet, there was a clear boundary that keeps people from approaching her. How mysterious.
Fortunately, the floating platform stopped before I could further embarrass myself anymore.
"Come in, these are my personal favourite weapons which are suitable for beginners. Most of them are Mortal-Tier, rest are Immortal-Tier, which I would object on choosing."
It was a small hall. On walls, long swords were hanging at an equidistance. All of them looked exquisite but the best part was that none of them were pink.
"Why don't you go take a look. If you find anything interesting, just call me." Saying so, Meiyao took Zongying and Xiurong's hand and sat around a round table nearby. They soon began drinking tea and conversing.
I lifted a sword with golden handle, and swung it around a couple of time before putting it back. Another sword had a dragon mouthed guard, the blade was of pure white colour but it didn't satisfy me either.
Even after an hour, I wasn't able to find find any sword that fits me. Every sword was good but I had this feeling of emptiness when I held them. It wasn't the first time it happened, from the very first moment I held a sword, I had this feeling. But now, it become more apparent.
Just when I was about to give up, and buy the dragon sword, my eyes drifted towards the sword standing inside a barrel by the corner of the hall.
I stood in front of it, examining it. It was a fairly bland sword, grey colour was the prominent theme. But there were two eye-catching parts: the dimmed out orb fitted in the pommel and streaks of disordered lines on the blade itself, it was crossing over each other in strange manner. A thought came to my mind. 'Veins?' They looked exactly like veins but completely dried out.
I didn't notice how my heart was thumping so hard. Stretching my hands, I grabbed it. The instant I did, I completely blanked out. No thought passed my mind.
Suddenly, I discovered my eyes were closed so I opened them.
What the fuck?
The halls filled with swords were gone. It was like I was teleported into another world.
I moved my eyes around and it widened even wider. The best I could describe where I was is... a world made of red. Everything around me red, deepest and brightest shade of red I had even seen. I was floating over a sea of red water or... blood. For how long I can see, I didn't see the end of pool.
Abruptly, I felt some movement behind me. I turned around quickly, and saw a man sitting on a throne—calmly—silently—without a hint of movement. I couldn't see his face since the long blood-red hair hid it completely.
"Who are you?" I took a deep breath and asked seriously.
The man didn't responds, nor did he move.
"Hey!"
Finally, he lifted his head. The moment my eyes laid on his, I felt an overwhelming sense of oppression. My breathing stilled, then it rushed, ardently. My whole body was covered in sweat, and I was already on my knees. It was not the oppression from differences in cultivation or likes. It was the same feeling when a mortal lays their eyes on a God. You will inevitably kneel. The pressure from Zongying wasn't even equal to an speck in front of him. I instinctively knew just his thought will be enough to kill me.
Then it stood up and moved towards me. The steps were slow but each one radiated an irrefutable might. I watched in shock and despairing eyes as his sharp nailed fingers aimed at my heart and slowly pierced it. At the same time, a deep archaic voice entered my mind.
"Rampage."
