The Past Story of Queen Kateleryn's Death

As she kept clinging to Alexander, a painful past played in her mind, recalling her past when Queen Kateleryn protected her and Sophia Lynn.

A past that happened 12 years ago when Angguis planned to invade Derora. Yukie and Sophia Lynn are held hostage when they are abducted by fellowmen of King Jake, the late former ruler of Angguis.

She is struggling to face her own inner demons and fears, trying hard not to recall her past.

To distract her unwanted flashbacks, she focuses her attention on Alexander, telling some stories she is ready to open up to her spouse.

"Alex, can I please lend your ears? I have something to say to you."

Yukie said with a weak voice, trying her best to fight her fears and overcome her unhealed traumas.

"Sure, Yukie, what is it?" Alexander replied as he kept stroking her hair. He uses his arm as a pillow for Yukie while his fingers run through her black semi-wavy hair.

"Do you ever wonder why I chose to give up my property of the flower garden farm by giving it to you instead of my father?"

Now, Alexander starts to wonder about Yukie's decision.

"No, I am not. Even I was surprised that it was you whom Queen Kateleryn passed the property of the land and the flower garden.

I am curious actually."

Her fair white tone and dainty hands are clutching on his shoulders whole both of the married couple are hiding in the blanket, embracing with each other as the rain pours hard and thunder growls at the gloomy grey sky.

"The truth is, that was my mama's will written on the paper and it's only me who has to read it once I reach eighteen. The will says that I must be supposed to have an alliance with your kingdom and your mother, Queen Briana.

As long as it won't pass and take the property to the Assfrior Family, especially my father, the land of Peony Flower Farm will be safe."

It hits his realization as the messy puzzle pieces slowly connect the picture even though it's a long way to go about Yukie's decision regarding their deal of the land of the flower garden. He suddenly remembers now about his mother's will before Queen Briana's condition went worse.

He also completely remembers how Queen Kateleryn and his family had a confidential meeting and private conversation with tears trickling from her brown orbs.

And also, Alexander, realizes that Yukie's parents' relationship is complicated and not on good terms.

His spouse is unaware of her family's lukewarm marriage life and Queen Kateleryn left no choice but to bear it all for the sake of her children the alliances of Derora and Agathos.

Alexander knows why King Harry's stained secrets that he holds a secret grudge against Yukie's father, and that he was blinded in the darkness which is the result of him earning a title as a cold and cruel king.

Yukie is innocent. It confuses him of how should he tell her the truth? And even he needs reliable shreds of evidence of what he digs about the history of the Assfrior Family's throned son as a King in Derora, Harry.

He is in deep thought, falling into an abyssal void of overthinking but someone disrupts him.

"Alex" Yukie calls him out softly.

Her faint, gentle voice resonates from her mouth giving him back to the senses.

"Yes, my wife? I am sorry I did not listen to you." Alexander says with a guilty look for not listening to her.

"Say, do you want to take a rest for a while? I am still scared but can you please stay with me? Until the rainstorm ends?

The bed is too spacious do not worry about what position and side of the bed would you prefer to sleep."

Yukie almost explained things but her spouse cut her words odd when his reply was.

"Do you want me to stay here for one night? Sure, my wife, I am worried that you are not able to take a proper rest because you're scared of thunder."

Ocean-azure orbs are sparkling with joy, completely relieved when Alexander agrees to stay in her room as the rainfall keeps bawling the heavy clouds, a downpour like there is no tomorrow.

His big fingers gently stroked her hair trying his best to calm her down.

His black orbs locked his gazing into her,

staring deep inside of her soul.

"My wife, why are you scared of the thunder? May I have permission to ask you about this?"

Yukie suddenly froze even though his words were warm. She wasn't sure of how she'd explain and tell a story when her bitter past gave her a never-ending nightmare. She must trust her spouse but her throat blocked her, not uttering with her beautiful voice, like a jar that sealed tightly.

Alexander saw Yukie instantly pause, not making a move, even her stable breathing stopped. He felt guilty and it was eating him alive.

"Yukie, look. I am sorry for prying you, and asking you a question that makes you feel uncomfortable. Forget everything that-"

"No, Alex," she said as she faced him immediately, locking her gaze into his. Her head was placed on his free arm and laid as her pillow.

"It's just that my unhealed traumas trapped me in the unknown abyss. I should just get over with it but my past imprisoned me, trying not to set me free."

Her feminine voice sounds broken and despairing. She cannot control her sobs and unsaid emotions and feelings that have been bottled up inside her fragile heart. Her shoulders are shaking, her body is cold, and her throat is strangled and she ends up choking a lot.

Alexander pulls Yukie closer in a fraction of a second to wrap his frail spouse with his body and arms, embracing her small figure and giving her a warm and comforting feeling to heal her even just a little bit.

Alexander is cold and strict to anyone after his parents are gone by his side. Learn to be independent and remain civil and professional to anyone. He is quite inconsiderate, he will get what he wants with his own hands as his way for revenge and let them feel his blazing fire of grudge.

Yet he turned into softhearted the moment Yukie came into his life. He becomes more sympathetic and gentle to her after he finds out her family not treating her as an important princess and daughter. Even though he had a deep abhor with her father, she is an exception.

His hands rub on her back, slowly and gently, forming circles and he keeps repeating these actions on her. He felt grateful that she didn't feel disgusted by his physical contact with her as he expressed his secret love and adoration to his only wife.

Yukie on the other hand, felt more than comfortable and warmer, it's like she felt safe when Alexander stayed by her side. She felt a different energy from her students, not her late mother compared to her husband.

She is still sobbing as her face is buried in his chest, inhaling his natural scent with a mix of woody musk and fresh mint. Her tears are flowing and Alexander doesn't mind that he felt wet on his chest area, Yukie's emotion and well-being are his priority, her crying reminds his past but was more to Yukie understanding her pain and scared.

"Alexander, I am still not moving on from my mother's death. I feel so lost and guilty, I blame myself that she got murdered."

Yukie starts to vent openly and Alexander does not expect her sudden emotional breakdown.

She and Sophia Lynn were abducted since they are King Harry and Queen Kateleryn's children. It happened twelve years ago when Derora and Angguis had a bloodbath war.

King Angguis king named Jake wants to invade the Derora and be their slave controlled by them. The land of Derora had lots of benefits and their monarchy was powerful as they badly wanted to erase their existence and be owned by them.

The ruler from Angguis known as a man with an iron fist and black heart, implements their government to Derora and assassinates The Assfrior Family's children.

Angguis has more alliances than Derora since Agathos, Lueur City, and Adkins are only taking sides with Derora. Alexander left no choice but to go back to his hometown cause of a lack of soldiers, he was willing to fight the battle as his family also threatened death since they helped Derora.

Yukie and Sophia Lynn were held as hostages, King Jake thought they would win and outnumbered killing a lot of soldiers, knights, and also the civilians.

The Assfrior princesses are terrified, Yukie is thirteen while her younger sister is only nine years old. They successfully capture the Assfrior princesses as she completely remembers the thirty days locked up at the abandoned building of the secluded mountain places in Angguis.

She remembers the dark pitch room, her eyes are swollen for crying in fear, feeling trapped in the darkness.

Her mouth is chapped, her stomach is growling for hunger, and her body is drained, craving for water to drink. They were rarely fed but Yukie didn't mind suffering from starvation and dehydration, instead, she is rather concerned about Sophia Lynn.

One time, the abductors finally gave them a meal. The two plates with a slice of sourdough bread, tomato soup and grilled beef are served for two persons with a glass of clean drinking water. Yukie almost grabbed a meal but she paused and took a glance at Sophia Lynn beside her, didn't touch the food even though she was hungry.

Confusion is written all over her face, her hands placed on Sophia Lynn's shoulders, gazing at her with a concerned look.

"Sophia, what's wrong? You don't like the food? Yes, they abduct us but we should be grateful 'cause they finally gave us another food for how many days."

Yukie said as her dainty fingers tucked her younger sister's curly blonde locks on her small ears.

"I still don't want to eat, what if there's a poison in our foods? Papa said don't accept food from strangers."

Sophia Lynn mumbled as her knees folded and wrapped with her small arms all terrified. Yukie sighed deeply but she agreed with her younger sister since she had a point.

"Sophia, listen to me," Yukie said to her younger sister was curious about Yukie so she faced her.

"Papa's right, we don't have to accept food from strangers but not everyone has a heart to put poison in our foods. Just because we came from Assfrior does not mean they want to kill us."

Hoping to Yukie that her words are enough to persuade her younger sister. Sophia Lynn was quite obedient to Yukie back in their childhood days thus she nodded her head and grabbed her meal to start to dig in.

Yukie felt relief that Sophia Lynn could start to eat aright as they didn't get a proper meal the moment they got abducted by King Jake's servant.

The loud crash of thunder defeaning them as it starts raining hard, making the two girls shriek in fear as a result that their food was dropped on the ground.

Sophia Lynn almost cried when their food was not edible to eat but a strong unpleasant chemical smell wafted on her nostrils, making her almost start to vomit.

Yukie was surprised, Sophia Lynn only reacted like this if she smelled something lethal and poisonous. She quickly checked her meal and leaned closer to smell it, her eyes widened in horror that their meal had poison.

She grabbed the tray and threw it in the jail bars, gritting her teeth in anger. She heard a low and weak groan sound when her eyes averted to the side, Sophia Lynn was throwing up as she could not restrain herself and vomited a lot. Yukie knows this, Sophia Lynn is allergic to the poison chemicals when she inhales and smells even just a small scent.

"Big sis, I can't blluuuurrrrggghhhhh....."

Sophia keeps vomiting as her immunity is slowly worn out. Yukie's hand is placed on her back, rubbing up and down while she continues to vomit.

The dark jail room creates a loud BOOM sound and the ground vibrates, creating a big impact from the blast. Yukie heard a scream from the group of men who were abducting Assfrior princesses.

"WHO ARE THEY?!!! CAPTURE AND KILL THEM!"

Someone exclaimed as they gave an order and were all obliged and recharged, ready for striking in action to attack.

Yukie is curious about the commotion but as she wants to take a peek, she sees a black-shadow human figure fighting against the abductors from King Jake.

This anonymous figure manages to deal with them through a few sparing and physical fights that will knock them down.

"Yukie!Sophia! Are you there?!"

The voice came from the anonymous figure and it was a woman, her feminine sweet voice was familiar to her and she was all in tears, happy to know that this black figure who went there as their savior was very familiar to her.

"MAMAAAAAAA!!!! WE'RE HERE! MAMA! MAMA!"

Yukie screamed and shook the jail repeatedly with all her strength.

She heard the rushing pace of footsteps clicking on the floor, creating a sound until she saw a clear view of the figure and feature, it was none other than her and Sophia Lynn's mother, wearing all black clothes and fighting gear.

"My child, I am glad you're still alive, your mama is here now and let's get out of here."

Queen Kateleryn quickly grabbed the keys she fetched from one of the abductors and unlocked the padlock of the jail.

As the jail bar was open, Queen Kateleryn quickly ran and hugged Yukie tightly as she was almost crying when she saw her eldest child in a weak and pale state.

Queen Kateleryn's heart was shattered in pieces when she saw Sophia Lynn curled into a ball, panting and breathing hard as her eyes shut tight.

"My dear, Sophia Lynn, what happened to you?"

Queen Kateleryn said and tucked Sophia Lynn's hair then she placed her palm on her youngest daughter's forehead as her chest heaved and eyelids half-open.

"Mama, Is that you?" Sophia Lynn asked while she was sick from the allergy she suffered.

"Yes, it is me, what happened to you? Why did you end up like this?"

"Ma, the abductors gave us a meal but luckily we did not eat cause there was poison in our food when Sophia accidentally smelled it."

Yukie explained instead as they saw Sophia Lynn's condition, Queen Kateleryn carried her youngest child and they quickly escaped the jail.

The rainstorm stops but the thunder continues to uproar which Yukie cannot help but to shrieking in nervousness.

They manage to get out of the abandoned building but they need to run farther and need to reach the forest.

Unfortunately, Yukie was grabbed by someone and wrapped her neck around, almost choking her with a sharp dagger as the tip of the sharp object pointed at her neck's pulse.

"Mama!"

Yukie cannot help but scream for help.

"Yukie!"

Queen Kateleryn saw Yukie get captured and she was dismayed at what she had witnessed.

Her brown orbs protruded in fear as the mysterious person almost stabbed Yukie.

Queen Kateleryn dropped Sophia Lynn on the ground and ran closer to Yukie getting her out of the mysterious man's grasp to save her.

The mysterious man and the queen are fighting and trying to grab the dagger but the dagger stabs on Queen Kateleryn's chest. Yukie's eyes bulged in pure horror as she saw a scarlet red on her mother's severely wounded chest, not believing what she had witnessed.

As the thunder roars with a match of yellow flash strikes of lightning, Queen Kateleryn pulls out the dagger and slashes the mysterious man's neck, yelping in excruciating pain and then running away limping.

Some of the servants manage to reach the place but they are too late, cause the culprit manages to escape and Queen Kateleryn's lifeless body lies down on the ground in the pool of blood as Yukie keep crying and hugging her mother's body, pleading and sobbing loudly.

"Mama! I am sorry! Please come back for me!"

Sophia Lynn woke up to a loud commotion and she could not believe what happened what she had seen and how her mother killed in a glimpse, one of the servants tried to calm her down but she threw tantrums and was heartbroken.

Yukie cried, her heart shattered and her breathing was running out, not accepting of what happened to her and her mother.

"Mama! Do not die, please!"

Yukie kept pleading, praying to the Heavens above that her mother would manage to survive but her cold as-ice body would be a mission impossible to bring back to life. The knights try to comfort her but Yukie keeps crying, distressed for her mother's unexpected death. She badly wants to capture the murderer and have to pay for the crimes of what they did to her mother.

She cannot catch sight of the face of the murderer since he is wearing a mask but she knows it's a man and his eyes are a bit the same as her, ocean azure but lighter like his father.

The thunder is a scar from her unhealed traumas of the past, reminding her of her mother's death.
