Just as he arrived at the exit, he turned around just to see the guy dashing at him with his fist ready to be shoved into his face.
'God damn it.'
He dodged to the side and started running away.
'I don't want to cause trouble for myself before the day even starts. The chances of me winning an argument should be close to zero too, since there's quite a lot of nobles around me.'
"See ya later, dumbass!" Mason yelled as he started sprinting towards his class.
'It wasn't more than ten minutes until the classes start, so the teacher should be there.' Mason saw it wasn't just one person who was after him anymore.
Mason was thinking how he needed a movement technique, since he was always fighting or running away.
''Get back here you lower-class pig!!!" Someone in the flock of students yelled.
"How dare you say I am stuck up!" Another said.
Mason knew he hit a nerve, but these kids were definitely exaggerating.
He took a turn to the left of the hallway and finally entered the classroom.
"Good morning teacher John." Mason said calmly.
"Oh, Mason. You're here pretty early for your doing!" The teacher answered.
Mason nodded as he quietly took a seat.
Suddenly, all of the nobles tried to enter through the door at the same time. Mason was sure some got injured as a couple ran straight into a wall.
"What are you kids breaking school rules for and causing a commotion?"
The students after Mason spoke up.
"It's nothing, we just got lost and we panicked for a bit." The nobles lied.
They couldn't admit they were going after Mason since they could get detention for violating school rules.
Hurting another student in the school building was strictly prohibited... That didn't mean it didn't happen at all however.
Teacher John looked at the kids with a suspicious look on his face as he glanced towards Mason, who was smiling at him like never before.
'That stupid kid...' Teacher John was fed up with Mason already.
"Get to your own classes, kids. They're almost going to start."
There were already kids from Masons' class trying to get in, but they were blocked by the many students in front of their classroom.
One of those students was Remi who scoffed when she saw Mason smiling.
Mason patted the seat next to him signalling Remi should sit there.
"Like hell I'll get involved in your affairs right now! I don't want to be the next target!" Remi yelled.
"How is it my fault? Sure, I slipped up once or twice, but everyone deserves a second chance!" Mason retorted.
Remi sat down somewhere else as the classroom started filling up.
Mason was blankly staring into space as he was thinking about what he should eat from now on.
'I don't think the cafeteria is safe for me anymore... But spending money on food isn't my style either, since a large chunk of it is for my mom.'
Mason snapped back to earth as Hans sat down next to him.
"What's up man?" Hans asked when he saw Mason deep in thought.
Mason chuckled slightly as he started telling Hans what happened.
"Remember when I called those noble kids stuck-up when we were talking?" He asked.
"Yeah, what about it?" Hans asked.
"They all chased me from the cafeteria into the classroom this morning, I don't even have a place I can eat anymore! This place is like a jungle, you can be a lion, but a pack of hyenas can still beat you!" He was furious.
Hans burst out laughing.
Mason was confused.
"Lions and hyenas don't live in jungles, you dumbass." Hans said as he tried to hold in his laugh.
'Wait? They don't? Am I really that dumb?' Mason was disappointed in himself.
"You get what I mean, man. It's really annoying though, how am I going to survive without food?"
*Clap* *Clap*
"Silence!" Teacher John yelled.
"I will start this class by saying that there won't be any dungeons or so for a while, so be prepared for a whole lot of studying instead."
The entire class erupted.
"BOOOOOO!!!"
"Nobody likes studying!!!"
"I am here to get stronger, not to become a teacher like you!"
Teacher John waited this time with a smile on his face.
'I just love seeing these kids suffer the same way I did when I was their age.'
The teacher then looked to the left and saw a student try to sneak out of the class.
"..."
"..."
'Shit, I got caught!'
"Mason sit your ass back down before I make you." Teacher John said.
Mason answered as if he had enrolled in the military.
"Yes, sir!"
The entire class started laughing at him loudly, Hans included.
Remi sighed as she was used to his antics by now.
"I'll let it slide for once, do it again and I'll make sure you have a hard time for the next month!" The teacher was holding back his laugh himself. But no-one noticed this.
Mason hurried back to his seat.
"You're something else man..." Hans whispered as the class had started.
Mason was embarrassed.
"There's nothing in this world that I hate more than studying. I only want to get stronger, I'll learn about all of the theoretical stuff on the way to the top!" Mason was confident.
He knew that even if he didn't study, he had a System that could back him up.
The class went on as Mason was having trouble to stay awake.
It had been the first time he went on a run since God knows, it was natural that he was exhausted.
'What should I do the next couple of months? Is there really no way for me to get System Points? I don't want to wait until next year to hit level 50!' Mason had a clear goal.
"Hans, when is our next vacation and how long will it be? I think I'll die if I have to this this for half a year without break." Mason said lazily.
Hans was smart and good at studying, while also being very powerful. Mason was getting kind of jealous.
"We should have a break in one and a half month, and it will be 2 weeks long." Hans answered.
'I have 2 weeks to level up as much as possible... Let's pray I can hit level 50 in that time.'
'For now, I'll just have to die of boredom for 2 months. Maybe I'll ask Remi if she wants to spar with me.' Mason thought as he saw his perfect schoolyear fade away.
