Chapter 481: Loosening the knots
Finding a secluded place was quite a task even for her on that night. The palace teeming with people from all over the country barely left any space unexplored. There were drunkards grouped together in the orchards, lovers sneaking away from their parent's watchful eyes in the maze, and eager stable boys spying on the heated activities of couples from the backyard.
Two of the three private gardens were occupied by bored noblewomen sitting and staring at the starry sky and by the time she got to the third one, Luna was panting from all the running. Luckily, not a single person was in and around the place, human or otherwise.
Closing the gates shut behind her, the goddess stepped into the small private garden that seemed to be badly maintained. The rose bushes were growing wild together with parasitic weeds that clung tightly around its branches. Spiderwebs had spread between the ornate marble pillars that rose above the ground every few meters.
