That's when all hell broke loose. For me at least. She grabbed the side of her face and looked me in disbelief. I continued to yell and was about to give her another shiner when Jay held me back, I tried fighting him but he was stronger. He pulled me away and kept pulling me away from her sending me a good amount of feet away. The anger was still there. And my knuckles ached but I all ignored it
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Jay asked me
My eyes moved to his "What's wrong with me? She's the reason Kelly is in here" I moved up my arm and pointed at her all while I never took my eyes off of him "He came because she asked him to. He would've never gotten shot if she hadn't convinced him!" My voice grew and my eyes watered so quickly
He placed his hands on my shoulders. He lead me away and to the hallway where the teams couldn't see is "Hey, he what's going on? It's not just this that's bothering you I can tell"
My breathing became faster as the tears erupted "Today is the anniversary of Shay's death"
Before I could even finish he pulled me into a hug while I cried in his chest
"Are you okay?" Voight asked putting his hand on Erin's shoulder
She held her jaw and nodded "Yea, she's got one hell of a punch"
"I'm sorry, I don't know what got into her" Boden said "I will make sure to have a talk with her"
"It's okay Chief, I'm okay" Erin said taking a seat in the chair behind her
"You need to apologize" Jay said
I scoffed "Your kidding right? No way"
He gave me a sigh "Baby"
I heard talking walked quickly back to see Dr. Rhodes "How is he?"
"He's okay. He's waken up, the bullet went straight in, we cleaned the wound. He's gonna be fine" Dr. Rhodes explained
"Can we see him?" I asked
He nodded "Room 5"
Without hesitation I made my way to Kelly's room not waiting for anyone nor did I know if anyone followed me. I appeared at the door and looked inside. He was sitting on the bed in a hospital gown with a large bandage on his torso area.
"Hey sis"
I sighed in relief and quickly walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck
"Hey careful sis I just got shot. I'm not completely healed yet" He gave out a slight laugh
I pulled away "Sorry. I was just really worried"
"I'm okay"
I nodded and hit him on his arm
"What was that for?"
"For being an idiot, what were thinking going to help Erin. Just because she asked"
"Look I thought I could help"
"Well promise me you won't do it again"
He smiled "I promise"
A knock was heard from the door which made me turn around to see Erin "I will be outside" I gave a smile to Kelly as I turned around and left. Giving a death glare to Erin. A bruise was already forming just below her eye. She deserves it. I walked out to see everyone staring at me. Without any hesitation I turned and walked out of the hospital. I didn't need any lip from anyone. I saw Dr. Rhodes standing at the counter talking to one of the nurses
"Hey, Dr. Rhodes" He turned to me "When will Kelly get released?"
"Since the bullet was through on through, he will released by tonight"
I nodded "Thanks" I walked past him heading to the firetruck. I sat inside and waited. Not soon after everyone else came out and we headed back to the station. Shift was now over, I headed to the locker as I gathered my things to leave.
"Hey, Chief wants to talk to you before you leave" Matt said poking his head in
I nodded "Thanks" I grabbed my bag and closed my locker. I sighed and made my way to Boden's office. I knocked before I entered "You wanted to see me Chief"
"Yes" He sat back down on his chair "I wanted to talk to you about what happened at the hospital"
I took in a sigh "Look Chief"
"That was unprofessional and-"
"Chief I know I shouldn't have done that"
"You shouldn't be apologizing to me"
"Won't happen again Chief"
"She could've pressed charges"
I crossed my arms "But she didn't"
"Just don't let it happen again" He said with a stern voice
I nodded before walking out. I headed to my car. I texted Jay before I drove to Kelly's apartment. I remembered he gave me a key. I slowly walked in and softly closed the door behind me. I walked a few more steps to find him sitting on the couch, I looked up at the tv as I walked closer. I sat next to him and noticed he was holding the puppy. He didn't look at me but he knew I was there. I could see his eyes were wet, and so were mine. My eyes moved to the tv. It was Shay, he was watching old videos. I let out a laugh and so did he. It was the Cinco de Mayo cd he had.
I laid my head on his shoulder and listened to the silence that filled around the air. "I miss her" I said softly
"Yea.. me too"
