Bleak future 2?

Anyone would be worried if their future was in the hands of someone else, the same was true for the two boys.

'Why is he looking at us like he is inspecting goods?' Milo shuddered as he considered what the old man could do to them.

'He won't use us firewood right. Or bait to catch beasts right? ' Kazuki was also thinking of the possible future they could have.

Considering how cranky the old man sounded anything was possible and the death threat wasn't really helping the two boys either.

The woods fell silent for a moment as no one spoke a single word.

"Ahhmm! " The old man broke silence as the boys looked at him with pleading eyes.

"Hmm! Ok,then. "The old man paused as he alternated his gaze over the boys.

"From today onwards get ready to work like slaves. " said the old man with a light grin which looked like a devil's smile to the two boys which only further sank their hearts. He gave the look of one of those old demons who kidnapped children to feed on them.

The two boys were wondering what that smile ment worriedly. But their hearts were eased a little at thought of being able to live.

'At least we are alive for now. As long as we live opportunities will come. ' The boys heaved a sigh of relief as they reached that thought.

The red haired old mage looked at the boys sighing in relief and clicked his tongue as he thought of how annoying they would be.

'I can always throw them to beasts if they are too useless anyways.' he shrugged as he turned to look at the direction where the battle had taken place.

'What a mess.Urggh! ' He grumbled inwardly as he looked at the burnt forest that lay ahead .

'That bastard. I will make sure to pay that pest in full.' he clenched his fist as his eyes glowed with Mana.

'We have to look for an opportunity to run .'The boys looked at each other with determined eyes and nodded in agreement as they had the same thought. The future as slaves didn't seem too bright to them. After all who would want to work as slave for their whole life.

They sure were optimistic.

But of neither of them knew what the future had in store for them and how this meeting would change their lives forever.
