“In your Heart, Forsaken Me"

In the middle of the night, in a hospital, a boy is sleeping arm-crossed and heads down beside his mother. Awoken by the long beep sound of the vital signs monitor, the boy rushed in panic to call a doctor. The boy ran outside and saw no one was available to accommodate his mother. He ran to the help desk and begged for a doctor to save his mother. As soon as the doctor got to his mother's room, he went straight to the rooftop, unable to take in what was about to happen. The rain started pouring down. Crying with fear, the boy ran onto the hospital's rooftop and shouted,

"Why? What have I done to endure this suffering? There is just one thing that I want, and that is to have a simple life! Why are you doing this to me!?"

The doctor's late arrival caused the death of the boy's mother, who was dying to sleep, and her son not making it to her deathbed. The boy came back to the room in complete silence as he walked along the hospital's corridor, he saw his mother covered with a blanket and a note in her hand saying:

"Live. Live the life that you wanted. Change the world for me. I love you, my son."

The boy holds the note tightly as he bursts out of anger, going in rage, letting light out of his eyes and mouth as he shouts. Within his conscience, he sees another boy's perspective, everything is burning, someone is shouting at him, and the other one is laughing at him, while he was also bursting into anger and rage making him see just a plain white picture. The boy broke down as he fell onto the ground, falling asleep on the floor. The boy woke up feeling nothing but emptiness, sitting with a blank stare. He saw the deathbed of his mother, he realized that she was already gone. A sudden knock on the door made him go back to his senses, a nurse telling him

"I'm sorry for your loss, we saw you on the ground, but instead of helping you, the doctor told us to let you be. We're very sorry, can you at least tell me your name?"

He answered,

"I'm Inigo Markova. Can I ask, do you know why I passed out?"

"No, as I said, we just saw you lying on the ground. Also, your mother is being cremated, can you wait in the lounge for her?"

The nurse responded and he just nodded in response. While waiting, thoughts came into his mind, asking himself.

"What should I do? How will I live without my mother? Who's gonna take care of me? I have to live all alone?"

At the time he was lost in his thoughts, the nurse called him to get the remains of his mother. He took it and then quickly went home afterward. After putting his mother's ashes on the altar, he goes to the bathroom to take a quick bath. When he was contemplating his current situation, he went up to the bathroom mirror and remembered the glimpse of the memory he saw. He suddenly got a headache, it stung, he quickly washed his face to wake him up. After going to the bathroom, he went to his bed again contemplating, staring at the ceiling. The shouting and the laughing sounds rang once again, the exact sound he heard from the memory. With the continuous headaches he is experiencing, he remembered that he had school tomorrow and decided to sleep the headache away. The next day, Inigo woke up early and prepared for school, still can't accept the fact that he lost his mother. He decided to walk to school instead of using the money his parents left for him. As he walked all the way to his school, he saw a dog and a cat fighting. He decided to stop them but instead, he got scratched by the cat on his wrist. This triggered the memories again, but this time, the boy is fighting with someone that has wings. When he was about to get scratched again, he woke back up to his normal self.

"Shit! I'm late!"

He said after returning to his conscience and rushing to the school. Upon arriving at school, he got caught by the principal walking in the middle of classes

"Mr. Markova! Meet me at my office now."

said the principal.

"Look, I'm sorry, I had this accident and- "

''...Meet me at my office now!"

the principal reiterated. When they reached the principal office, he asked Inigo right away

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, Mr. Principal, it's just that, it's been a rough week for me. My mother pa-"

stopped by the principal

"Yes, I know, I understand. I'm sorry for your loss, but we might have a problem since you still have a balance yet to be paid. Your parents haven't paid for the whole year. We accept your mother's extension of payment but it's due today. Is there anyone you know that can help you?"

Inigo thinks of a person but there are risks, so he just told the principal

"Yes, Mr. Principal, but can I get another extension, I promise to pay it in time"

"No, Mr. Markova, you don't have a job yet to pay, you don't earn. Look, if you don't have someone to pay for you, we are forced to expel you from this school."

Answered by the principal. Later on, the principal received the payment handed by Inigo's terrible uncle with a face of pure hatred towards him.
