Trying to make it right

Lilian had easily followed the police to the car after the court had delivered it's judgement, she was in a state of shock, the world around her felt dull and blurry she could not take note of anything her mind had retreated into itself. Lilian felt as if she had been scrubbed raw her mind couldn't process what had happened her baby sister had not only lied against her but told her secret to the world, her sister had helped her enemies to put her in prison. 

Lilian can't move on from the incident if someone else had done it it wouldn't have mattered but it was her little sister the light of her world she would do anything for her even die for her and she knew her sister loved her too couldn't all be fake right. maybe Lillian had done something wrong so Lilian will apologize as soon as she sees Amber she says sorry but sorry does not heal this gaping hole in her heart. Lillian thinks calmly as she is put in her prison cell sitting on the cold hard floor with her necessity.

  Caleb can't believe how cruel his grandmother could be not only to Lilian but to a child but can't believe she could be so Hearts turned to tears against each other, he pulls out his phone from his pocket and dials David's number.

  " I need you to carry out our plan the power of the Lane family should be mine tomorrow," he says before hanging up the phone.

  " Yes sir," David says as he goes to do as ordered ' but sir are you going to be okay breaking your principle' David thinks solemnly. Caleb gets into his car starts it and drives fast and hard breaking traffic laws until he gets to a cemetery here he stops and calms himself walking slowly to the one he knows the inscription was.

  " Hey  Mom"

" How have you been, am sorry for not coming as often as I ought to but I just really needed to talk to you tonight" Here Caleb pauses before whispering

" Would you be proud of me or angry at me "

" I didn't want to do it but I had no choice mama, but it doesn't matter have made up my mind. Thanks for listening Mom."

  He says turning back to his car much more calmly than before. He drives his car to another apartment in a high-end environment the building is tall it is obvious it is a skyscraper the night brightens up both inside the building and outside he waits under one of the trees and calls someone on his phone

" Come out,am here " and immediately hangs up.

The person at the other end of the line feels suffocated as he thinks ' what am I your dog ' before going down to meet his friend he spots his car not far from him and walks across to it, opening the car door and sitting down. 

  " Hey you know am not your servant that is on your beck and call look at the time bro I was already asleep "

" You are on my payroll "

" So because you pay my salary you have decided to make me work so hard "

" Yes " .

"really" Alex grumbles

" Yes " Caleb deadpans 

" So have you read the case file "The mood in the car becomes serious

" Yes I can get her under house arrest and parole since the family did not file a case of running and hitting against her.,

" Apply for appeal tomorrow "

  " Yes okay but are you going to be okay I know the kind of stress you are under but how are you going to go against the Black family when your father and grandmother are not helping you?

  " You don't worry about it"

" Fine but just be careful alright,'" Alex got out of the car and was about to go inside when he turned back.

" You love her don't you"

" I think I do and it scared me what I would do to protect her" Caleb answers softly ever since he was growing up he had known that  the business world was competitive and fierce he knew if he entered he would not be innocent but he had sworn never to use his schemes against those he loves but here he is breaking his principle for her. In the beginning, he could have known everything about Lilian if she had not told him but he wanted to respect her privacy she was one of his people and he would never use his powers against her. 

  Alex paused for a moment before agreeing, "Fine, but just be careful, alright?"

Caleb accepted the warning. "Guess love makes you do crazy things, huh?"

Alex smiled knowingly. "Yes, I guess so."

The preparations for Lilian's situation took the entire night for Caleb to arrange. He had a last stop to make before returning home—a grand mansion with golden gates. The gates opened effortlessly for him, and he walked inside, moving with a sense of authority.

Upon entering the house, he was met with the sight of his grandmother pacing restlessly, her demeanor far from what he had ever seen. She appeared disheveled, and the look in her eyes sent a pang of guilt through Caleb's heart. He knew that his actions had caused her distress.

"Grandmother," he called out softly, bracing himself for what would come next.

Mrs. Aurora, however, surprised him by turning and delivering a harsh slap across his face, the sound resonating in the air like a thunderclap.

Caleb staggered back, shock and pain evident on his face. It was an act he had never anticipated. His heart ached at the sight of his grandmother's fury.

Mrs. Aurora then spoke, her tone as cold as ice. "You are unfit."

Caleb's world crumbled further, but he refused to share his fragility with her. Despite the pain, he maintained his composure, standing tall and proud, determined to pursue the path he had chosen. He looked at his grandmother with a steely resolve, even as he felt his heart breaking.

As the night wore on, Caleb continued his journey, his determination unshaken. He knew that he was breaking his own principles, but his love for Lilian compelled him to take this drastic course of action.
