"Ooh, f**k him" Ariel murmured under her breath at the mention of Carter's name. She didn't hesitate and walked away but before she could reach the door. Cole was there already and blocked it.
"Cole please move from the door, I have something really important to do, the mating ceremony is about to begin and the last thing I want to hear right now is about Carter".
Cole didn't moved an inch and stood his ground firmly. He shook his head negatively showing Ariel he wasn't going to move from the door. Ariel bit her lower lips and rubbed her temple.
She was done with Carter and now it was Cole. What has she ever done to these two brothers?. They were too stubborn and would not stop till they got what they wanted.
"I promise to move from the door only if you listen to what I have to say"
Ariel's brows knitted, she had to get to the mating ceremony before it began and Cole was wasting time with whatever nonsense he wanted to speak to her about Carter, but she still had no other option than to listen to him since he lended her some of his clothes to wear.
"Okay, but make it short and snappy" Ariel said to him and he moved from the door, relieved she agreed to listen to him.
With the way Ariel was looking at him anxiously waiting for him to say something made him actually forget what he wanted to talk to her about, a few seconds ago.
"Cole?"
"I thought you said you wanted to talk to me about something concerning Carter?" Ariel shook her head slowly, Cole was just wasting away valuable time she would have used to make her escape.
"Oh right" Cole scratched the back of his head softly, "Sorry I forgot what I wanted to say to you just now" He chuckled.
"You forgot what you wanted to say to me now?" Ariel scoffed, "you must be kidding me, Cole" she moved away from Cole and towards the door, grabbing the doorknob, Cole held her back.
"Cole if you don't have anything serious to tell me, then let go of me. I need to leave" She sighed, getting frustrated with Cole, who wasn't serious on telling her anything concerning Carter he brought up earlier.
"Carter still loves you" Ariel let go of the doorknob on hearing Cole's statement and turned to face him. Oh, how was she going to explain this to him?.
"I don't think Carter has told you the whole story about us, you know since you were away when he and I-".
"I know everything that happened between the both of you when I was away, he told me the whole truth today" Cole said to her, before she could complete her sentence. He already knew what she was going to say.
"Okay" Ariel nodded her head agreeably, she knew where the conversation was about to lead to.
"Carter didn't mean to cheat on you, it was your sister who seduced him and then he..he slept with her unintentionally" Ariel glared at him viciously, she was sending him a message for him to stop with his blabber about Carter and Avril because she wasn't interested in it.
Cole swallowed hard caused by the way Ariel was staring at him. No she wasn't staring, she was glaring at him. He knew she didn't want to listen to him talking to her about anything concerning Carter.
But he had to speak for his brother since Ariel didn't want to listen to Carter, she may listen to him.
"Did Carter sent you to do this?"
"Uh, do what?".
"Did Carter sent you to talk to me since he wasn't able to get me to change my mind?" Ariel questioned the keen Cole, hell bent on making sure she listened to him.
"Carter has nothing to do with this Ariel, he didn't send me to talk to you okay?. I'm the one who decided to speak to you on my own" Cole convinced Ariel, hoping for her to believe him.
He was sure she believed Carter was the one who sent him, despite what he said to her now, he could see the disagreement washing over her face.
"Okay, I have heard what you said and I will like to leave now, Cole?" She pointed to the door and Cole opened his mouth to speak but the words couldn't come.
With the way Ariel was keen on leaving his room, he was sure she didn't gave a damn about anything he said to her about Carter so he had no choice than to open the door for her like a noble gent.
Ariel walked towards the opened door and smiled before turning to Cole and said, "I loved Carter, Cole, not anymore. I'm sorry" She took three steps and stopped on hearing Cole speak from behind her.
"Carter's going to reject Avril".
"What did you say?" Ariel turned behind, her jaws dropped open out of shock and confusion written all over her face.
"He's going to reject her, I don't know when he's going to do it, but he's going to reject your sister tonight" Ariel felt her legs go numb, she couldn't get them to move even though she tried. Cole's words were the cause of it.
If Carter rejects Avril tonight, then Avril was going to come hunt her down, blaming her to be the reason for Carter rejecting her. No, no, that mustn't happen, what the hell was wrong with Carter?.
"Did Carter tell you that?" Ariel asked out of curiosity. Cole stared at her face closely, observing the way she was reacting to what he said to her.
"He didn't, but I know he's going to do it tonight. I told him to do so because he still loves you. It's better for him to go through the pain that would come to him after he rejects Avril tonight than to be fully mated to her tonight".
"No, no, no, that mustn't happen" She grabbed her hair, pulling the strands tightly while Cole watched her closely, trying to figure out what she was doing.
"Your brother shouldn't reject Avril or he's going to get me into big trouble" Ariel whispered shakily, her eyes darting all over the room.
"What did you say?" Cole asked her, because he didn't hear her clearly. Ariel didn't mention a word and dashed out of the room as fast as she could and Cole followed suit, yelling her name but she didn't respond and kept on running.
"Ariel, Ariel wait" he yelled but Ariel didn't stop for a second. Why did Cole tell Carter to reject Avril?, Do those two brothers want to be the end of her?. Cole has no idea what kind of trouble he was going to put her into, if Carter rejects Avril tonight.
Still on that thought, Ariel kept on running. This was a life and death situation which no one else but her understood very well.
