Chapter 23

"The first auction item! It is from the ruins of the Black mountain city of the Snow Wind Empire located deep within the Black Demon Mountains. It's a Gold Rank Armor with unknown inscription pattern carved in it. The starting price is Two hundred thousand demon spirit coins!"

With that, the woman moved aside and the bids started.

"Two hundred ten thousand demon spirit coins!"

"Two hundred twenty!"

"Two hundred forty!"

"Two hund…

"Are you not going to buy it?" Lily asked.

"And what would he do even if he bought it. It's useless to him right now." Shen Xiu reasoned with Lily.

After all, a person cannot usually wear an armor or use a weapon of a higher rank than themselves.

Mostly because the higher rank treasures are made of more dense metals and stones that was so heavy that a person of a low rank cannot even lift it.

But even with that not being the case, the Higher Ranked items are filled with high soul force. If a lower ranked cultivator wore or used them, they will definitely suffer a backlash and suffer a deviation in their cultivation at best or die at worst.

There was a reason why Ye Ziyun, the daughter of the City lord and the Grand daughter of the only Legend Rank Demon Spiritualist wasn't walking around with a Black Gold rank armor under her clothes for protection.

"He could always use it when he reaches gold rank." Lily replied.

"But that…"

He raised a hand to stop the two girls from bickering with each other.

He had already used Nie Li's intuition along with the skills of the Inscription master and the Expert Black Smith to understand the value of the armor.

"The inscription of the Armor had worn off, allowing whatever Demon Spirit that was embedded inside it to either escape or dissipate." He explained calmly. "The inscriptions themselves aren't worth anything special. And the armor is made of Black Steel, which while being valuable, can easily be bought in the market at a much cheaper price. All in all, the armor is nothing special and a waste of money, even if have over a few Billion Demon Spirit coins to spare."

Both the girls nodded and they silently waited for the Armor to be bought off at 'Three hundred sixty thousand Demon Spirit Coins' before the auction continued with the other items.

"Sold! Congratulations to the Jade Wind Family for successfully bidding on the Gold Rank Armor!"

The armor was moved from the stage and the woman continued "The next auction item is a Gold Rank Sword filled with ancient inscriptions and embedded with the Black Divine Scaled Hawk which gives it an added boost to it's sharpness! The starting price is Eighty Thousand Demon Spirit Coins!"

"Ninty Thousand Demon Spirit Coins."

"Hundred Thousand Demon Spirit Coins."

"One Hundred and Ten Thousa…"

"This is strange." Shen Xiu said.

"What is strange?" he asked.

"The auctions usually start with lower priced items so that the richer commoners and the poorer Aristocrat families can buy items for themselves as well." Shen Xiu said "But this time, the Auction house jumped directly to items in the range of hundred thousand which is not something that everyone can afford."

He nodded, remembering that the Auction house in the Canon started their auction with items priced in the hundreds and thousands, not hundreds of thousands.

"Maybe they found a lot of items in those runes?" Lily suggested.

"Maybe." Shen Xiu shrugged before looking at him "Are you going to bid on the sword."

He shook his head. The sword might seem like a good find but the Expert Black Smith told him that while the demon spirit embedded on the sword was a decent one, the material used to make the sword was subpar at best.

"It's a waste of money. Let other have it." He said.

"Sold! Congratulations to the Saint Cross Family for successfully bidding on the Gold Ranked Sword." She said and the next item was brought to the stage "The next item is a set of over three hundred books from the Snow Wind Empire Era They are from the library of an Legend Rank Arch Duke from that Empire. Some of the books have eroded away with time but most are still readable and in good condition. The starting price is Three Hundred Thousand Demon Spirit coins."

"Three Hundred Ten Thousand Demon Spirit Coins!"

"Three Hundred…

"Are you going to buy it?" Lily asked curiously.

He looked at the large stack of books kept on display and frowned. He already had a ton of books in his library from that era and he doubted that these books would be any different. But in the small chance that these books have something in them.

Might as well.

"1 Million Demon Spirit coins!"

His words brought a lull of silence in the auction house as everyone turned to stare at his booth. Thankfully, it was covered with a black one way mirror so they couldn't see who was inside.

And even if they could he, his clones and the two beauties in his arms had disguised themselves so they won't be recognized anyway.

"1 Million Demon Spirit Coins going once!"

"1 Million Demon Spirit Coins going twice!"

"1 Million Demon Spirit Coins going thrice!"

"And Sold! Congratulations to Mr Minato Namikaze for successfully bidding on the set of books from the Snow Wind Empire Era." She said "Next item…"

The auction continued after that. Every so often he would see something interesting and would bid a high amount of money on it, forcing the other buyers to back off.

After a while, everyone learned that someone very rich was sitting in his booth and that whenever he was interested in something, no one else would be able to buy it.

By the end of the auction, he had bought a Bronze Rank Set of very high quality Armor that he decided to wear once he reached Bronze Rank within a few days.

He also bought a spatial ring that had four times as much space inside it as the best ring being sold in the market so he bought it as well.

After that, the auction house started showing low value miscellaneous items that were bid on by the aristocrat families and the richer commoners.

Whenever something caught his eyes, he would buy it. Unfortunately, there was nothing in the whole auction that could aid him in increasing his cultivation rate. But he wasn't surprised.

Things like the Abstruse Gemstone are a very rare and hoping to find one in a simple auction house is asking for the impossible.

Nie Li truly had the luck of the protagonist in being able to come across the Nightmare Demon Pot in his first auction.

In the end, he bought a pair of Black Gold Rank Inscription Scroll named Divine Turtle body armor that created a body armor around his body which was capable of tanking a few attacks from a powerful Black Gold demon beast before dissipating and Phoenix Galestorm that created a large storm of fire blades that could easily injure a weak Black Gold rank Demon beast and kill anyone from below the Black Gold rank.

He bought the pair of Inscriptions Scolls for 30 million Demon Spirit coins and he planned to use the Universal Replicator to make hundreds if not thousands of copies of those two Inscription Scrolls.

Those things would be his trump card and with them in his possession, he would be able to defeat even a group of Black Gold Rank Demon Spiritualists.

He might have failed in buying anything that could increase his cultivation rate but he really struck gold when he found these inscription scrolls.

After the auction ended, he left the auction house with his the girls and his bodyguards.

However, it didn't take them very long to realize that they were being followed.

He couldn't tell who was following them from this distance but he didn't need to. Whoever was following him like this definitely didn't have any good intentions.

So he entered an empty alleyway . And as soon as he did, he sent his clones and his girls inside the Pocket Dimension. And once that was done, he entered the mirror world through the reflection in the puddle of water on the ground.

By the time his followers entered the alleyway to check up on him, he was long gone.
