Breakfast and Budding Friendship

"Well, I'm sorry but how was I supposed to know that?"

Harry sighed as he got up from his bed. He still couldn't get the creature out of his mind. It was very intriguing and downright beautiful.

"It's fine Ron", Harry said as he went towards the bathroom to get his shower. Ron smiled at that and went to get something from his trunk.

Harry came back after the shower and changed into more casual clothes, as both he and Ron went down for breakfast. The Great Hall was already filled with various students getting their breakfast when Ron and Harry entered. Some of the first years were also present who were excitedly talking with their peers while eating. The Hall was buzzing with the sound of cutlery and talking. Harry could see some of the students were also reading.

As both Ron and Harry sat down at the Gryffindor table and were about to start their breakfast, Hermione approached them. . "Morning, Harry, Ron," she greeted, her eyes alight with curiosity. "That magic on the train was extraordinary! How do you do it without a wand?"

Harry chuckled, remembering his explanation on the train. "I just... get magic. It's instinctive, you know?" he replied, trying to downplay the uniqueness of his abilities.

Hermione, while still curious, nodded, recalling their earlier conversation. "Right, you mentioned that. Fascinating."

"Can you please teach me?"

"Blimey Hermione! Let the poor bloke eat his breakfast first. Not everyone's as fascinated by theories as you are.", Ron chimed.

Hermione shot Ron a glare, "Well, someone has to be, especially when we're surrounded by magical wonders."

Harry chuckled. These two are destined to banter continuously. They hardly know each other and they have already started bantering. Harry watched both of them bantering with each other.

I have to think of a way to set these two up, Harry's eyes gleamed with this thought. Harry chuckled and stepped between them.

"Fine fine, I'll teach you, Hermione but first let's get breakfast shall we?"

Hermione blushed, "Ok, Harry". She sat down with them to have breakfast. Harry noticed that once Hermione sat down, Ron and her previous bantering almost disappeared as both of them were engaged in a conversation, with Ron asking her about her life in the muggle world. Harry smirked, these two are perfect for each other. Harry could see the starting of the golden trio.

As they continued to talk while having their breakfast, they found themselves drawn into a lively exchange that hinted at the beginning of a friendship. Little did they know, this was just the start of a remarkable journey that would shape their lives at Hogwarts and beyond.

Hermione's curiosity, Ron's light-hearted teasing, and Harry's easygoing nature created a blend that, despite their differences, held the promise of a bond that would withstand the tests of time and magic.

Harry could see a spark of interest in Ron's eyes whenever Hermione spoke, and a mischievous idea formed in his mind.

"Hey Hermione, do you play chess?" Harry asked, a sly grin on his face.

"I do actually, my dad taught me how to play it," Hermione replied, her eyes brightening.

Harry feigned frustration and whispered. "Well, I can use some help. Ron's been wiping the floor with me in all our chess games. I can't seem to catch a break."

Hermione chuckled, finding the idea amusing. "How is it that you are able to do wandless magic but struggle with chess?"

Harry shrugged playfully. "Different skills, I guess. But here's the thing: I want to surprise Ron with a victory. You know, catch him off guard. Do you think you could give me some tips without letting him know?"

Hermione's eyes twinkled with mischief. "So, you're planning a secret chess comeback?"

"Exactly! It'll be our little secret. And who knows, maybe I'll finally beat Ron at his own game," Harry grinned.

Unbeknownst to Hermione, Harry's real plan was to create opportunities for Ron and Hermione to spend more time together. Harry mentally congratulated himself for coming up with such a plan. This is bound to get them closer.

As Harry and Hermione continued discussing their secret chess strategy, Ron, who was engrossed in his breakfast, glanced over at the animated pair. A curious expression crossed his face as he wondered what they were so engrossed in.

Seizing the moment, Harry leaned in and whispered to Hermione, "Remember, keep it low-key. We don't want Ron catching on to our secret plan."

Hermione nodded conspiratorially, and they continued their conversation.

Meanwhile, the Great Hall was buzzing with the usual Hogwarts chatter. The owls fluttered in, delivering mail, and the enchanted ceiling mirrored the morning sky. Harry noticed Neville Longbottom struggling with a toast that seemed to be turning into a garden gnome.

As the trio continued their animated discussion, the bustling atmosphere of the Great Hall added to the lively morning ambiance. Nearby, Seamus Finnigan was attempting a dubious transfiguration, aiming to turn his glass of water into rum. The results, however, were not as anticipated.

Seamus, with a determined expression, waved his wand over the glass, muttering incantations under his breath. To the surprise of those around him, the water didn't transform into rum but instead started producing a series of colorful sparks, creating a spectacle that drew the attention of nearby students.

Kaboom! The water goblet exploded, leaving Seamus with a charred face. People around him burst out laughing. Ron almost snorted in his juice. He burst out laughing.

"Harry....Harry did...you see that?", Ron laughing uncontrollably. Harry who was laughing himself nodded. Hermione was shocked as she was splashed with water. She turned to Harry and Ron with a shocked and wet face. Both of them started laughing more. It was quite the spectacle to see Hermione's face.

"Hermione, you look like a wet cat", Ron said laughing.

"Yeah definitely", Harry chimed in.

Hermione glared at both of them and wiped her face. As the Great Hall settled back into its usual rhythm, the trio continued their breakfast chatting about various topics with Harry tactfully guiding the conversation to ensure that Ron and Hermione get interested in each other.

Suddenly Harry's thought went back to his dream. Should he ask Hermione if she had ever read about such a creature? Then he decided to leave it for now. It's not like he will have that dream again. Sometimes dreams get weird and Harry just pushed aside the thought. At least for now.
