Chapter Six - The Ride

-Shit

He slammed the desk in anger...he had a frustrating look in his eyes

-How did they do it?

He took deep breaths, then stepped back now having the entire desk in his view

On the desk, there was a microscope with some samples, a centrifuge, and some test tubes which contained blood.

A door at the other end of the room opened and he looked to see who it was...Theo, he looked weak, tired...using a cane to support him as he walked

-So any progress?

-No sir

Theo took a few steps towards him...Raul had his face pointing to the ground, he then felt breathing around his ears

-What do you need?

He was still, trying not to show any emotion

-I need more blood

-More?

He laughed but the mood inside the room only became tenser

-Do you want to drain my entire body?

-I...I also need more people to help me out

His voice shook in fear as he spoke, he tried controlling himself...he did not know what to expect, the unpredictability that Theo often displayed was what he was afraid of

-Ok then, I will get you more help

He slowly sat down on a bench, resting his back on the wall and placing the cane rest beside him...hands interlocked and head point towards the ground, he then arched his back forward for comfort

-...and you can take some more of my blood

Raul looked at him concerned

-You know it is dangerous right?

He looked at him then laughed a little

-I know...but it is a risk I will have to take

As he spoke, a guard entered the room...he had multiple scars and tattoos on his body.

-What is it?

He leaned in beside him and began whispering into his ears...as he spoke Theo's eyes grew wider...was it in excitement or shock...can not be sure but it seemed terrifying nevertheless. The guard stepped back, but did not seem to leave...he was waiting...waiting for orders.

Gripping unto his cane tightly, he struggled to stand and maintain balance on his feet...he turned facing the guard

-Prepare a transport vehicle

He nodded and dashed out of the room

-Come with me

He said as he began walking out of the room and down the narrow hallway, not far behind was Raul

-Where are we going to?

-Turns out our escaped prisoner found something very interesting

-Who?

-The famous Nikko

He looked confused as they were now outside, surrounded by a couple of guards...they were fully armed, they stopped walking, and Theo looked him dead in the eye

-We would use his blood instead of mine...he met up with a US task force, not sure which one though...he also has a companion with him...an alien

As he finished his sentence, an armored vehicle was parked in front of them, one of the guards who were around them opened the back seat door and assisted Theo into the vehicle...he orders Raul to sit beside him, he did...the door closed and they were on their way towards the wall. Other escort vehicles tailed them with two of them then taking the lead and driving in front

-You mentioned alien, sir?

He looked startled and surprised

-Yes I did

He said without any emotion

-Why do you seem surprised...or are you one of those who did not believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life?

-I...I just...how do you know about this?

-One of my men from the inner camp, saw the spacecraft crash and also saw it emerge...it attacked them with laser beams, also moved really fast...he was one of the few survivors

-Why do you suspect it to be an alien, why not just another person that activated their variant gene?

He was quiet and seemed to think about what he had said, as he did the vehicle had arrived at a checkpoint in the wall, it was allowed through and they went beyond the wall into the wilderness ahead

-I guess I might be wrong about that, but either way it is still a win for us

He smiled and looked at Raul

-I am sure you are wondering how we are going to get Nikko...well I have a trump card up my sleeve, something I thought I would never use

He seems intrigued and curious as to what his trump card was, so he asked

-What is it?

-You would find out later...we have a lot of planning ahead of us and if things work out, we may have just won this war and saved humanity

The blades spun to keep them high in the air above all the trees...some mountains and hills could be seen ahead

Ropes were holding up the cargo and attaching it to the chopper...the cargo swung from the bottom, it looked very dangerous...but it was secure...the cargo was the spaceship

It was surprisingly heavy despite its size but it was just under the weight limit

The unit carried it with them as they were on their way to an unknown location

Onboard, the crew were vigilant and watchful...they had their eyes fixed on one person...Kirra

She sat at the far back, isolated...her head was placed on one of the windows...her eyes were closed and her breathing was calm...she was asleep.

Even at that everyone was still on high alert, Nikko sat next to Amy while the commander was on the passenger seat in the cockpit. He had been quiet since the flight, he was trying to fully come to terms with everything that had happened, then he finally decided to break his long silence

-Where are we going and where are we by the way

-We are on the island of Madeira, it is part of Portugal or should I say Founder's Rock

As he said that it was followed by air quotes

-Anyways, I will explain the state of the world later...we are heading back to Washington

The commander then turned back after he replied

-But first, we got to get a bigger plane...so we are going to our airfield, does that answer your question?

-Yes, I guess

He then turned to Amy

-Who are you guys?

She turned to him

-Well all you need to know is that we are a secret taskforce

-I already figured that out

He said with a smug look

Moments later

Her breathing had increased...she was now panting

Everyone turned to look at her even the commander, she began mumbling some words in an unknown language

-Is she having a nightmare?

-Not sure

Nikko stood up from his seat and went over to her, he then tried to wake her up but to no avail...she seemed scared, what could be going on in her head?

Then out of nowhere, she woke up screaming and her eyes were opened filled with energy accompanied by heavy breathing. She looked around to see that they already had their weapons pointed at her...she held on to a locket that Nikko just now noticed was around her neck

-Are you okay?

She just realized that he was next to her...she calmed down

-I am good, it was just a nightmare

Everyone lowered their weapons and returned to being vigilant...she took a deep breath then placed her head back on the window observing the ground below, noticing Nikko had not left, she looked at him

-Hey, what do you want?

She said with a blank expression on her face

-I need you to tell me a few things like where are from, why are you on earth, how...

He gets interrupted by her, she had a bit of anger in a voice implying she wanted to be left alone

-Just go, I am not in the mood to talk about it

-Sure but I feel that would help at least gain the others' trust if they...

She interrupts him again

-Okay, shut up... I will talk, I don't think it matters anymore besides

That drew the attention of everyone on board to move closer and listen

She took a deep breath, then spoke

- I come from the planet T01-11 orbiting the 10th star in the 4th Quadrant RX13 system

There was silence as everyone was confused by what she had just said

-That was my planet's code and position on the cosmic map

Amy then spoke after she was done

-What is a cosmic map?

-I will explain that later, anyways my planet's name is Velia and I was meant to be the supposed queen
